Hi! Well what you are going to have to do is go to settings then go to audio and activate your speakers on the virtual machine! Hope I helped! Good Luck!
I am guessing that you did download an ISO file but because winrar can be associated with ISO files you probably thought it was a .rar file but it was really an .iso file that you extracted with winrar. Whenever I install winrar I go through the winrar settings and make it so winrar is not associated with ISO files.
Seriously? I like only have 512 RAM in my PC and you said "The first time I tried to make the video, the install told me the minimum ram allowed for the install was I believe 556, so I had to redoo it."
I don't know, you'll have to try it. The number was 500 something. If you're going to actually INSTALL it on your comp, I don't reccommend doing so. The computer would run slowly anyway.
Dude, I downloaded the winrar file from microsoft website but how do you transform the winrar file to an .iso file. Please, dude i need some help for this.
HELP HELP PLZ REPLY ok i have 512 mb ram but wen i do virtual box it wont lemme allocate it all so i get the you need 512 mb but have 368mb setup cannot continue HELP
i mean that i cant allocate all 512 mb of my ram into virtual box i can only allocate 386 mb ram so i need a program that lets me allocate all of my ram or else setup wont work :( and i want windows 7 real bad
If you're refering to the files currently on your hard drive, no you won't. That's the purpose of the virtual hard drive. It stores the files of the new operating system in a folder used by Virtual Box.

Simple enough. You select the OS in the left pane that lists all of the virtual operating systems and delete that with the delete button. You then go to file > virtual disk manager (command + d on mac), go to the hard disks tab, select the windows 7 hard disk and click the remove button.
I'm pretty sure the C drive. I've not used virtual box on a windows computer because my laptop can't hand the program. However, on Mac is sticks it right in the operating system library (which is essentially the C drive).
Looking at the installation of virtual box, it seems you can choose a hard disk from any location on your computer AFTER is puts it in the installation folder that virtual box uses. In theory, I would assume you'd need to put the folder virtual box uses in the D: drive and then it would put the hard disks in that folder. I may be wrong.
what version of virtual box do you use

Microsoft stopped allowing downloads of the disk file. You can always search a website like piratebay or demonoid for a torrent of it.

If you downloaded it from Microsoft, you should've just got a .iso file? o_O
I did when I signed up to get an auth key. If you get a .rar file, just unzip it with winrar.

Virtual Box seems slower then my VMWare. Maybe the Host PC was on the slow side?

Could be?

is it posible to enable aero ?

I don't believe so, because Windows isn't accessing your graphics card. You may want to research it though to be sure.

i try this with 1024MB ram and 16GB virtual hard disk but virtual windows 7 Boot VERYYYY SLOWLY! why?
tempest911 3 years ago
Try using less ram? That's one GB of ram for a 16GB harddrive. I've got 2GB of ram for 250 GB harddrive.

What do you mean by 368mb setup?

7 Needs only 256 to run :)
VBox Allocate 386 MB of RAM because if you allocate more than that, your computer will...idle... or worse... BSOD :(

Just before I actually try what you have done, I have one question. How do you uninstall Windows 7 and the virtual drive?
hillviewproductions 3 years ago

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm just downloading the Windows 7 beta now, so I'll see how things go. Thanks, again.
hillviewproductions 3 years ago
No problem!
Paradinem 3 years ago
One other thing, though. I have 39.7 gb free on DATA (D: Drive) and 19.3 gb free on VistaOs (C: drive). Now where does the virtual drive get thrown?
hillviewproductions 3 years ago
I'm pretty sure the C drive. I've not used virtual box on a windows computer because my laptop can't hand the program. However, on Mac is sticks it right in the operating system library (which is essentially the C drive).
Paradinem 3 years ago
You can choose where to place it, ie D: drive, right?
