The pilot was on board all right. Sometimes you can only wonder where they get all those fuckin bollards. In my esperience the pilots negligent actions were the cause of practically all collisions and damage to shore property
@shop99er He did see the bridge, but as you can see, the bridge is lowering, while he is sailing under it. It is probably the operator of the bridge, who pressed some button the soon.
@moneybelt22 to make shure that everything is realy closed off and maybe (don't know if that vessel had them of if they actually already existed) the FM200 system (generally a big giant gas bomb to put out fire's in engine rooms)
@SrVishi With the speed a ship has, it is impossible to stop in time. So there is only one possibilety, and that is continue and trust the watchkeeper on the bridge.
@SrVishi well if you knew the whole story you wouldnt call him a idiot, the bridge operater lifted the bridge up and gave the ship the clearance, when the ship was going threw, the bridge struts gave up and the bridge lower. thats what happened.
I heard the story about this. It happened somewhere in Canada, and the bridge operator was found to be drunk and/or high when the ship was passing. He accidentally lowered the bridge too early. Everyone on the ship survived I believe, even the captain and first officer in the wheelhouse.
In what way do you people think this funny.I have friends whowork on the lakes and this type of accident even though rare could have been anyone who may have been in the exact place at this time.I find it down right scary and even though no one died thank god, shows how fast your time can end.
because you come on here trying to contradict what everyone is saying like you're going to change something, the way you talk you make it sound like your opinions. and yes thats what they are, are the only ones that matter. I suppose really, what I'm trying to say here, is that you're a douche bag

@Pontiac65Cat what the fuck is your problem? The only thing I see is a bridge being down and a ship ramming into it. You have other info pertaining to this incident let me know before making yourself look like a douche. Eat a dick.
