Why is kendo nothing like sword fights you see in movies/animes?
If they did things like you see in anime/movies then i would join in a heartbeat but to be honest when i went to an introductive session all the yelling and galloping just seemed a little obnoxious and embarassing...really let down. I wanna learn how to fight dammit not dance...
sei nito (or correct nito) shoto held with the left, daito held with the rigth hand. gyaku nito (or reverse nito) shoto held with rigth hand daito with left hand. in this video one is using sei nito and the other gyaku nito.
@jung567 Sei-nitou (正二刀) is when you hold the daitou in your right hand. Gyaku-nitou (逆二刀) is when it's held in your left. This video was cool since it was sei vs gyaku.
@grifis986 They use a shinai (represents the katana) and a shoto (represents the wakizashi). A friend of mine is actually starting to learn Nitoryu so he's been giving me a lot of information about it.
@grifis986 The long sword is a size 37 shinai, and the short sword is something like 60cm long from tip to tip (I forget the size, and google didn't produce results in the 10sec research I did, so it's a guess from memory).

It was a bit off, conditions were not met.

This was an 'enbu-taikai' where there is no points awarded. The audience has to make up their own mind.
