This was such a fun game, I really remember enjoying it so much. One of the few games I was actually able to "beat".

Does it really have speeches everywhere? I started up this new version of loom through ScummVM using FM-Towns loom and i have the enhanced graphics and the nice enhanced music if you compare to the orginal that i played on amiga1200. But mine has no speech even if i press F5 button, goes to option, increases voice volume and then choose speech and subtitles. =(

first you have to get and use every spell on the island, then they'll gve you the "f" note, and when you go to the tornado and double click on it, it should give you the twist spell. play it backwards and the tornado goes away

I begged my parents to get the family a computer when i was 10, with the ulterior motive of playing PC games. LOOM came pre-bundled with Monkey Island as well on our first PC. Those two games changed my life. I was hooked on PC point and click adventures ever since. They were stories that you played through, and they haven't made games like these since. I loved Loom's sound and theme. Lucasarts and Sierra rocked in the early 90's.

This version is so different than the one I played! It has actual voices to go with the text. However, there is no music! The version I had took classical ballet music and had it in every scene. I don't think I could enjoy the game without it.

If you want a CD version, your best bet is FM-TOWNS. It doesn't have a voiceover, but it does have improved graphics, CD-quality music instead of MIDI, and a few additional locations, not really changing the game, but adds a few secrets. Best version of LOOM.

anyone has got the downloaded version of this on tha latter days? i tried to make it work with ScummVM but the sounds dont work for some reason... i had the vga version without the sounds back in the 90's and i've wanted the one with the sounds..dialogue is slightly different. this is my favorite game and i'm still longing for a sequel..

One of my favorite games of all time, was given this along with a SINGLE SPEED 150k/s(!!!!) CD-Rom drive for Christmas back in 1992. It is the definitive version. The VGA refresh made a big difference - look at the depth compared to the Amiga and ealier PC editions - and the voices, though a little wooden in places, were beautifully recorded and added yet further dimension. Tchaikovsky's ingenius music - though still on synth here - was also enormously enhanced.

i had this game for the PC a while back when i was little. i used to love everything about it. the music, and especially the story. but it was too short. they should have made a sequel. the ending for this onne was kind of a cliffhanger. it gets u wondering where are they going and is chaos coming back?
