It can be VERY dangerous to disturb animals in their natural surroundings. These guys were lucky they were in a fast truck and that was a lone elephant.

Actually they did everything right. They had to pass that elephant to stay on the road, and they came behind slowly and cautiously, and at the first sign of trouble, they sped up to get away. But no the elephant didn't charge, it was just anxious.

I do live in America, I'm not a citizen, but I'm a legal resident. I've lived in Europe, I have family there and also in South America. I consider myself a fairly objective point of view, as I have been a part of and also visited many cultures. That being said.
The foreign policies of America have been less than sound- that is true and, if you have been paying attention to the internal affairs of the country, agreed upon by most of its people. Yes, the Bush administration made some bad decisions. And they continue to do so. It's not all the President, however. I'm not a Bush fan myself, but it's unfair to target him as the reason for all the problems.
Second. The majority of the country is not completely deluded and ignorant. We know the rest of the world is angry. And our country is NOT the most powerful, CapnFlix and rimsstillspinen. And we are definitely not the most advanced. Did you even take history? Do you know anything about current affairs? The answer is not to drop a bomb, and doing so won't help anyone. And by saying things like that, you create an image of a country that's very easy to hate.
On the other side, America-haters shouldn't judge so quickly based on a few insights. Generally the comments made that infuriate other countries so much do NOT reflect on America as a whole. The country has a lot to improve upon, but there is plenty here to be genuinely appreciated.

Actually they did everything right. They had to pass that elephant to stay on the road, and they came behind slowly and cautiously, and at the first sign of trouble, they sped up to get away. But no the elephant didn't charge, it was just anxious.

The foreign policies of America have been less than sound- that is true and, if you have been paying attention to the internal affairs of the country, agreed upon by most of its people. Yes, the Bush administration made some bad decisions. And they continue to do so. It's not all the President, however. I'm not a Bush fan myself, but it's unfair to target him as the reason for all the problems.

Thats a somewhat black/white view. I'm from the Netherlands, the selling of weapons is very restricted here, but the netherlands isnt a dictatorship.
The dutch government doesnt need to disarm the people, because they arent armed in the first place. The 1 and only reason weapons are so easy to get in the US is the fact that the weapon producers have a massive amount of power and influence in the white house. That doesnt look a lot like a Democracy to me either.

One more thing...I wasn't alive during WWII but I've met plenty of men who fought in it. An old foreman of mine was in the infantry following Patton's tanks. He told me lots of war stories, including his part in the liberation of Bastogne, where he almost lost his leg. From all he told me, I got the impression that the Dutch LOVED Americans with guns!
