@atdray technically the pedal only controls air, so even in a gas vehicle its not a gas pedal. Just opens up the MAF so OBD II can calculate the incoming air and mix in the appropriate amount of fuel. Idiot.....
4lo in first gear- man. trans. there isnt any reason why it wouldnt walk up the hill. tires help though, and those are some pretty good ones from what i hear. i usually run maxxis buckshot mudders.
@DeereFarmer09 hell yeah just mash the gas and let them dig their way out. they are a great tire for pulling wagons through fields too and they are pretty cheap compared to most others. plus they already have holes in them for snow studs (like you need them). got a set of 265/75/r16 for $100 each. if my truck wasnt my every day driver in the interstate/highway id get another set. got a 4.3 vortec 4x4 s10 blazer with a set of dayton timberline series 2 A/T i been driving instead. got em for $60ea
my buddy has a cummins and it has around 700ft/lbs, in the winter in 4x4 high going down the highway at 50mph he doesnt need to touch the gas the truck just keeps going on its own momentum
when i said try that in a v8, i was talking about powerstroke, cuz theyre fucking junk. ill have to take a video of my buddies doing my driveway soon, ill post it on here with the link, its pretty cool
yea, and this is also in the snow, and did it no problem. seeing as they are similar trucks, im sure they have the same potential....soooooo cool story bro
@SLIVKAjusPSdonU Well I assume by v 8 you mean a gas motor and if that gas motor had 20:1 compression or at least a lot enough to make super torquey like a diesel, a manual trans and 4:10 gears behind it, it could also do that.
haha this is nothing.. my buddies 3500 cummins can climb my 50 yard long driveway, and its literally 2 times as steep as that haha its awesome, we can get out and make it look like were pushing the truck uphill by the doors
Fuck yeah man that's badass I gotta 95 2500 with a five speed but it's a gas which blows but it's my first truck so can't complain ya know? My 1st is low as shit too though
My 2000 Cummins will do that in 2wd high... and its a ONE TON! I'm personally a Chevy street/strip/track guy but whatever I'm racing, a Dodge gets me AND my Chevy there! You CAN NOT beat a Cummins!!
haha my wrangler can it crawl in the woods like it wasnt nuthin ..Hell I can get out and take a piss and have my passenger steer then go back to it..its called low gears you POS
gotta love those low gears. i got a 90 w250 with bulldog and full range transfer case (2H, 4H, 2L, 4L). my brother forgot he left the truck in bulldog gear when it was parked (2H on transfer case) and WITH THE PARKING BRAKE ON he STARTED and idled the truck. the only thing that made him notice it was in gear was the way the rear left tire was slowly rotating on the pavement
I Love the low range in mine with the Diesel, it is retarded how it pulls. I do walk besides with my Samurai in first, but it has way more gear then these trucks would ever see, just no power HAHAHA!
yes its an open dif. its all stock. two tires will spin if equal or close to equal pressure is applied to the spider gears. since it being in snow, the tires didnt hang up on anything which allowed it to posi like that
@hearmecummin actually I dont think Ive ever seen a second gen cummins that didnt have a limited slip, I think the 1st gens were the only ones with open diffs
haa hell yeah, my 24valve in 4lo and the nv4500 in 1st will NOT stall on idle if i press down on the brakes as hard as i can without giving it diesel, and i got high performance rotors and pads. i think even on idle it would spin all 4 tires on concrete in 1st 4lo if i tried to pull down a huge tree or something. it just seems to me its impossible to stall it in that gear.
would have been better if you got out of the truck and walked beside it while it hill climbed....and no its not cruise...most cruise control units won't work unless you are going over 25mph....4 low, low gear, i can do this with my truck, then again, who can't
ok its an accelerator petal, everyone happy now?
