  • i got a 2007 charger RT 5.7 and it has 60 K and i have all kinds of problems with the front end. I replaced the tie rods rotors brakes struts lower ball joints, conrol arms, and still have clunking and clanking noises lik it going out of style. Chrysler executives are pieces of dogshit for not recalling this shit. why should i have to pay thousands of dollars for defective parts. Never buy a dodge again

  • I have a 2006 Ford F150 and it sounds like metal rubbing metal when I make left turns. Can anyone comment on this. I'm at my wits end. I thought it was the brakes and changed them but the noise is still there.

  • excellent idea placing wireless mic on the suspension to monitor the sounds produced.

  • I had this exact noise on my 300 and it turned out to be my upper control arms! But now I get a knuckle rattling noise when I go through bumps! Wtf

  • If you havent gotten your problem fixed yet its probably your inner tie rod bushing I have the same car...it started at 109,000 miles. They only cost 20.00 a piece.

  • I just junked my 04 pashitica

  • To Hauiee123 and alexsitomas, the fix to my popping noise was to insert rubber between the upper two coils. I took a half inch rubber hose and cut it so it fit around the spring coil. You can buy 1/2" fuel line hose or heater hose from a auto parts store. I have pics posted of the rubber inserts on imageshack but youtube doesn't allow me to include the link in this message.

  • @bangaroo1 could you send me a picture if you still have it? I have no idea where to put the rubber? is it easy?

  • bro i need help i recently i guess went down a pothole but my rimsdidnt break but now on the passanger front side starts making the same clunking noise when i back up and when i turn can you please msg me up and please let me know whats wrong wiht my car and how i can fix it thank you

  • did you have to change the coilovers? I have the same issue with my 08 gti, exactly the same, what do you suggest that I should do? thanks

  • The popping noise is coming from the springs binding. The binding was coming from the first/top two spring coils rubbing on each other. The solution is to insert rubber between the top two coils.

  • Where can I get the rubber inserts?

  • I have a very loud popping noise you can feel through the floor going over bumps and turning. Its not the outer CV joint as that makes a crackily popping noise like cracking a back. Replaced Balljoints and Sway Bar links with no avail. Realized that when I held onto the inner Tie rod boot while someone wiggled the steering wheel back and forth a little(not on jack stands), I could feel a pop and sounded like a mini version of the loud pop.

  • i have a 2005 dodge dakota making the same squeak and I traced it to the lower control arm bushings on the driver side

  • actually I had that same problem we switched out struts & mounts & end links and noise was still there. But I figured out that clunking noise over bumps it was th sway bar bushings try that before wasting money in any front end part cost about $15.00 each. Good Luck

  • Could also just be your preload. Try adjusting it.

  • what a surprise

  • I finally solved my popping noise. The popping noise are/were my KW coilover springs snapping/banging against each other. I guess my KWv2 springs are wearing out. As soon as I inserted rubber fuel line hose between the top two springs on the driver side coilover the popping stopped.

  • did you find this??? i have same exact noise on 2005 srt8 300.

  • No, I am still working on it.I replaced the swaybar endlinks which did not fix the problem. The dealer had replaced my Tension Struts about a month earlier, so this should rule out the Tension struts, unless their install has gone bad. I do not believe it is the struts, which are KWv2 coilovers. This leaves the lower control bushings and/or ball joint, inner or outer tie rods, the steering rack, sway bar, or the upper control arm.

    Continued in next comment......

  • The Steelman Chassis ears have ruled out the steering rack and inner/outer tie rods, I believe.

The upper control arm was replaced about 2 years ago, so I doubt this is the problem.

The sway bars are Hotchkis sways and the bushings have recently been replaced. So I really doubt the popping is the sway bars.

This leaves the lower control arm bushing or ball joint. I am currently leaning towards the the ball joint.

If I eventually solve this I will post my findings.
