The situation in Afghanistan is very similar to the one that was in Vietnam. We can kick the enemies butts, but we are too afraid to go into the neighboring region to do so. In Vietnam, that is why we lost the war, because we were to afraid to defeat the north, so we sat in the south and let our soldiers die,which led to drafts, which caused massacres. Now in Afghanistan, all the terrorists have to do is go to Pakistan, and they are untouchable. America is the best at conquering, not occupying.

actually afghan south (helmand and such) is where the british were tasked to be deployed, with some of the dutch and the entire canadian force, whereas the pussys who wont commit to the war (germans, french etc etc) are in the north which is much safer, the bulk of the british army was sent in before the main part of the american military to secure helmand province, an almost herculean task for such a small army.

The situation in Afghanistan is very similar to the one that was in Vietnam. We can kick the enemies butts, but we are too afraid to go into the neighboring region to do so. In Vietnam, that is why we lost the war, because we were to afraid to defeat the north, so we sat in the south and let our soldiers die,which led to drafts, which caused massacres. Now in Afghanistan, all the terrorists have to do is go to Pakistan, and they are untouchable. America is the best at conquering, not occupying.

America is a driving military force, best at destroying the obstacles infront of us. When we try to mix our politics with our fighting, it gets worse than the war could ever have been without it.

We have always played games with both of them, and it is really just a serveillance, spy, and cyber war period. Their are always tentions among us, but the detrimental magnitude of an actual full out war, is so astounding, that I believe that we are holding back until we have that perfect window. Now we (I mean them too) may never get that window, but if we do, then you had better hold on to your seat.

The European powers in the past figured this out the hard way and that's why they are little bit more weary than Americans when it comes to going in foreign countries militarily. No wonder the British wanted to occupy the Southern coastal part of Iraq instead of going deep inside like the Americans. They had their own past experiences in Iraq after WWI and they also had their own Afghan experience when Churchill was just a young officer.

actually afghan south (helmand and such) is where the british were tasked to be deployed, with some of the dutch and the entire canadian force, whereas the pussys who wont commit to the war (germans, french etc etc) are in the north which is much safer, the bulk of the british army was sent in before the main part of the american military to secure helmand province, an almost herculean task for such a small army.
