  • can you use a screen from another iphone?

  • @sharkpunch53 Each iPhone screen is specific to the model you have.

  • awesome video. Thanks!

  • my iphone broke near the ear piece and i can see somethingthat looks yellow, how bad is that?

  • @ZGtheTruth777 Depends. goto DirectFix com and email us with some more details and we will do our best to help you figure out what part or parts you need.

  • My Home button is not working/

  • @molotono12 We carry the parts to fix a home button issue at DirectFix com

  • My iPhone 3G's display was coming on very, very faintly this morning and wouldn't respond to my touch when I slide it to open or even slide it to turn off. Now, the screen is totally black and nothing comes on, whether I try to turn it on or off. The battery is fully charged. Could you please tell me what part I need to replace? Just the touch panel digitizer glasstop, the LCD screen assembly, or both?

  • @emengistab12 From the description that you provided it sound like you need to replace the screen with Part # IP-2164 available at DirectFix com

  • thanks

  • do you deliver to switzerland?

and how to have 5% off?

  • @yannmaxpoirier Yes, we ship to Switzerland

  • what if you can't remember how to put it back together? the video only shows who to take it apart and put the glass...

  • @massiekur19 Check our other videos. We have a video that shows you how to put it back together.

  • great video! very easy to follow. had one issue with the small folded ribbon cable at the top inside (next to the other ribbon cables to be reconnected) when re-installing the screen back into the phone body. needed to gently fold it in so it wouldn't block the SIM card when sliding it back in.

  • Do you ship to norway?

  • @kurder26 Yes we do.

  • Good, I finally search your 3G machine tear down video, good for you, excellent work.

  • Do you deliver to the United Kingdom?

  • @kierzorz Yes DirectFix com does ship to the UK and 40 other countries.

  • Fixing my screen was a piece of cake. Surprised how simple it was considering the other idiots on youtube. Thank you for a very concise video.

  • Just fixed mine. Thanks! Only catch is the Apple glue is much more difficult to remove than on this video.

  • The strength of the original adhesive will vary.

  • are you still selling the philips screw driver? i cant find it

  • Part Number XX2240 at DirectFix com

  • i just got the new touch panelscreen, i didnt get the adhesive for the repair... can i use somethin different instead?

    .. i.e liquid glue?

  • Do not use glue you will damage the phone. You need to goto DirectFix and order Part# 822-4034.

  • What temperature do I set the heat gun to in order to melt the glue that holds the glass touch panel in place without melting anything else?

  • Since every heat gun and blow dryer is different I would start with the low setting and work your way up slowly until you are able to get the touch panel off. Be careful not to melt anything. Also do not leave the heat on any one location for to long. Keep it moving around.

  • great video! helped installing mine a lot!

a couple tips, make sure you get ALL the old adhesive out, and make sure to wipe off the actual LCD when it's apart, i accidentally left a finger print on mine..d'oh

  • I ordered the parts and tools and followed the video instructions. I was able to successfully repair my iPhone. Great parts, and great video.

  • sweet thanks. just ordered my digitizer. cant wait until it comes so i can replace it.

  • Top man! Many thanks!!!! :)

  • Great video! Im fairly confident that I can perform this repair myself, so I ordered a digitizer from pdaparts =]

  • Hi there! Thanks for that video. Just fixed my iPhone with your video. I feel so good right now. If you ever come to Austria, we'll go for some beers. THX!

  • Thank you.

  • Just wondering whats an adhesive kit i am going to take apart my iphone

    Do i really need it?

  • You need it. Goto DirectFix(dot)com and read the description on part# 822-4034

  • @halo242 ya

  • Is there a way to get around buying an adhesive kit Ive waited forever for the digitizer now I have to order a adhesive kit? is there some other kind of glue?

  • The only way to guarantee that the touch panel will stay on the frame is with the adhesive kit. When you go into the details of the Touch Panel you purchase from DirectFix(dot)com we list all the parts and tools needed and the 822-4034 is listed for the adhesive kit.

  • We are getting a lot of emails asking us to trouble shoot your broken screen issues. Please goto DirectFix(dot)com and on the left side of the webpage under company info > click "Advice Articles" > then read the "How To Tell if Your Broken iPhone 3G Needs a Digitizer or LCD" article

  • when replacing an iphone 3g how to you remove the screen without heat?

i have seen it done before at the place that repaired one for me

  • You have to use heat. The digitizer is held on with glue and heating it up will separate it and allow you to remove the old broken one. Also the replacement digitizer is Part # IP-2213 and the new adhesive kit is Part # 822-4034 at DirectFix(dot)com

  • Bottom half of my screen is unresponsive. What do I need to get to fix this?

    thanks

  • As long as the image under the cracked glass looks perfect you have 2 options. Option 1 is a complete screen IP-2134 - fast install but cost more. Option 2 is the glass digitizer replacement IP-2213. Cost less but requires longer time to install and a little more skill. All parts and video directions at DirectFix(dot)com

  • ...have the same problem...:P

  • what do i need buy if the glass crack only?

  • If only the glass is broken which is also called the touch panel or digitizer goto DirectFix(dot)com and look up part number IP-2213. Read all the description before purchasing please.

  • Basically this is the video for that, though.

  • Yes this is the video to replace the touch screen aka digitizer
