i have no idea how my computer is still running so smooth i have an emachines motherboard i added a Redeon 5770 Graphics card an intel core 2 duo 2.93Ghz and an ECO advanced liquid cooling system and the power supply is only 250 watt its like magic the weird thing is i bought an 450watt psu and it blew up but the 250 runs fine
@Turpaani i don't know to what post you replied but yes. even with the most powerful graphics card you will probably have enough power with a 500 watt psu (depending on the rest of your system of course).
But 300 watt is low if you ask me, even for a basic pc and not smart. it doesn't leave you with alot of expanding options...
but for a gaming system, i wouldn't go with less then 600 watt even if it was just to have some headroom.
lol zal ik een gewoon nederlands praten nice ik wil er binnekort ook een kopen met alles erop en deraan voor 1600euro en natuurlijk ook een i7 920 met 5870 of 5970 ik weet het nog niet
very nice, I would definetly go with ASUS and Intel. I noticed you only got 3 gigs of ram though, you might want to go with 6. I think that video card that you got is going to hold you back though. I would have gone with the 4890. Thats a nice PSU, however from personal experience i learned not to trust Corsair brand PSUs, I have ThermalTake instead. But it's a very nice PSU if it doesn't give you any problems.
I remember when I first got my i7 920 d0 and p6t deluxe v3 along with 6gigs of ocz :-)
The feeling you get when you boot the computer with this new hardware for the first time is undescribeable and people who havent tried it havent lived 100% until they've done it.
No ofcourse not, but it was to give you a picture of how exciting it is :-P
I was almost sertain I had breaken the CPU, when I were putting it in the socket my chassis was standing upright and while I pushed the tension bracket to secure the CPU it slipped and the CPU fell out and landed "face-up" at the bottom of my chassis. But luckely nothing happened :-)
By the way, I saw I accidently wrote "p6t deluxe v3" in previous comment, I meant to write v2 :-P in case you were wonderring..
Wow you did a good joob of routing those cables, i'm using a tx850 in a 902 aswell and though i managed to get rid of most of it, my 4890 barely fits with the hdd cage so close, i had to shove the pci-e cables through the empty bay to get it to connect T_T
Well the ati 4800 series prices should be dropping starting this month or next month once the 5000 series luanch same with nvidia the gt300 series in january (rumoured) will drop teh gtx 200 series and other as for proccesors the i5/i7 p55 proccesor platform has just launched and knowing intel the price will stay the same for a quite a long time so nonone can tell what the prices will be but they will be lower if you buy stuff thats hot now because there will be new stuff to lower prices :D
dude, C0 or D0, they exact same cpus, for the same price,, if you want to RMA ur C0 ,ur more likely to get D0 from intel ,so dont make it sound like its a big problem, it just lets u overclock slightly easier ,otherwise ther same, there are ppl with bad D0 stepping out there , ,,
nice rig im building a similar one in bout a month right now im thinking. Cool Master HAF 932 SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 4890 2GB DDR5 Corsair 750tx psu G Skill (3 x 2GB) ddr3 1333 Asus p6t Deluxe V2 Cooler Master v8 WD Caviar Black 1TB Samsung 22x DVD Intel Core I7 920 2X Seagate Barricuda 320gb (raid 0) Total after shipping $1,477 all items from newegg
i'm using all 4 6-pins, 4 molex connectors (2 from each cable) and 2 sata cables (1 from each cable) and that's pretty much what it has. 4 6-pins, 2 molex cables (each with 4 molex + floppy) and 2 cables with 4 or 5 sata connectors + off course the 24 and 8 pin for motherboard and cpu.
internet stores ALWAYS take to long to deliver your stuff :P even tho it took 4launch "only" 1 week to deliver it, it felt like a month or something lol
one questo0n , ,next to the cpu socket you have 4+4 pin power for the cpu etc, ,, can u use only 1 4pin or it has 2 be 2 4 pins, , or are there any adapters and what psu would you recommend, im doing a budget build lol ,, ,
most powersupplies come with 1 4/8 pin cpu connector. normally it's listed in the features list of the psu. the corsair 850 watt has one 8-pin for the cpu :)
i think you can go with only a 4-pin but i don't dare to say it for sure. if you really want to be safe, go with a psu that has an 8-pin. and yes there are some converters but it's not recommended to use those long term :)
i'm corssfiring 2 XFX HD4890's :) just ordered em and i will upload an unpacking and bechmarck vid of that as well. but yeah it's a very fast system ^^
How do you know what power supply to get, have bought same board, same cpu, ati 4770, 6gb ram so do i really need 850 watts? or and should i get a different fan also?
i estimated how much i would need. but for a system like that you don't need 850 watts. you can always calculate how much power you will need by googling "psu calculator" (yt doesn't allow me to post links)
and a new cooler is recommended yes especially if you're going to overclock. else the standard cooler will do just fine.
whose that kid in the back

running one graphic card is it possible to run this system with a 500 watt PSU?
nicholasgonzalez 2 years ago
if it's an a-brand, yes. the minimum requirement is 450watt i believe.
thierryvt 2 years ago
@thierryvt thats bullshit, even the most powerfull pc's with 1 graphic card only require around 500 watt psu. basic new pcs only use around 300watt
