  • I don't know anything about weight lifting. Can someone explain how this doesn't destroy your back? With the squats I can see he is mostly using his legs, but the other exercise looks like it would just kill you. I'm sure I'm missing something.

  • he may not have the most weight room strength ever, but what he does have is functional strength. as well as speed. his muscles fire fast. moving the most amount of weight isnt necessarily proving anything in the case of an athlete (provided that sport is not powerlifting or olympic lifting)

  • This is a bit surprising. For a 250lb + tight end I expected him to be stronger. Then again most NFL strength coaches are pretty bad, so I guess Im not surprised. Kinda sad that there are girls on my college track team who squat more than that. 

    O well, he is an pro football player and I am not so more power to him.

  • I say people need to STFU, then talk when your a betetr football player then him. He is a pro ball player, his workouts are for quick refelxes and explosion, hence power cleans. he is doing reps for speed, he isint doing 1 rep maxes, he isint a power lifter

    these are just sets. THESE AREN'T HIS MAX. i max 405 lbs on squat but i can only do 3 reps.. im sure he can do 20 reps of 405.. there is a reason why he is in the nfl

  • LOL, for anyone whos saying this isn't a lot, you've obviously never done any powerlifts bc this is a good amount and this isn't something the average guy in the gym can do. he's a FOOTBALL player not a BODYBUILDER, their goal isnt to lift the heaviest weight possible, their goal is to be strong, quick, flexible, quick reflex, and fast.

  • @myblackG35 should have said FOOTBALL player not a POWERLIFTER. bodybuilder's don't care about strength either. most of them lift laughable weights for their size.

  • Because its to focus on exploding up and using your hips....he does squats after he cleans

  • He is doing powercleans.

    1) Where do you think the power to jump the barbell is coming from? Hint: hip extension (hamstrings/glutes)

    2) Power clean is a more poweful movement than a clean (with full squat) as the bar is pulled higher

    3) The technique for a full clean is harder to learn. This guy is an NFL player, the time is better spent on the field and learning olympic weightlifting (which I am a big fan of).

    For a football player, his technique is alright, at least he can rack it!
