Is it common for a teen to have retinal detachment? My eyesight is horrible and it keeps getting worse. I've got floaters and flashes and all kinds of other crap going on. I'm seeing an opthamologist in December, but...
wow-i've never seen a video of retinal surgery before. thats amazing! my surgeon must be a kind of retina genius. i had
late-onset retinal detachment (retinopathy of prematurity) in my left eye. i had three surgeries about 2 yrs ago to re-attach half of the left retina. my right eye is 20/30 with glasses, and my left eye is 20/200.
I was born with retinopathy of prematurity, my retina completly detached in both my eyes when i was 5yrs old one was restored to 20/700 20/400 in my left eye and it did not work on my right eye, I am so glad i had some of my vision restored if if just a little, seeing this video i realize hoe delicate and how pricise this surgery is one wrong move and it's game over,
I had retinal surgery 4 years ago, during which they inserted a piece (?) of silicone in my eye so that the retina will stop breaking or something.
Thing is that my eye developed strabismus postoperatively, nothing really serious, but surely noticeable to people who knew me before I had the operation. Is there anything that can be done about it?
sooooo....how exactly do they get to the back of your eye? i think i may have a macular hole, so im just wondering about the procedure. im scheduled to see a doctor soon.
on thursday i had to have a laser eye surgery on my left eye b/c my left rentina is starting to detached, just like my right one did. the good news is that my vision in my right eye got a lot better its now 20/30, my left eye is 20/20 and with my contacts in my left eye its 20/10.
i still have the buckel in my eye. my vision was 20/80 and then it went to 20/800 all within one day thats when the rentina detached. my vision is i guess ok, i mean its not gonna get better. i think its now 20/40 or 20/60 in it now. in my left eye its 20/20 thats w/ my contacts and glasses.
i'm happy that i can finally see something like this because i had to have retinal sugery when i was 15 years old, i deteached and torn my right retina.

BUT please note it does take up to 12 months and even more for vision to come back to what it is going to be.

Hate to break it to you guys but once you have a retinal tear, not all vision will be restored.

what happened after your scarlet buckel? did your vision get restored to your normal sight? or did they tell you only God can make you see?
