Did anybody notice him hit the aileron trim button at about 1 minute 29 a couple times once while it was spinning. Assuming he flies mode 2. Incredible flight as always.
Looks easy, tried it with my Blade 400, now my heli is in a million parts in a box on my bed. His stick movements are insane to say the least. Wish I could be that insane and keep my heli in one piece. Hats off to the pilot, you have my respect!
In mode 1, when the throttle stick is on the lowest position the engine switch off, and for sure the pitch is not enough to flight in 3d, is almost difficult to get the loop right in mode 1, so for me is flying with a minimum pitch of +13 and -13, and also watching the stick movements is difficult to get he's level, not for nothing for me is one of the best rc heli pilot in the world.
You need to be so smooth when flying rc helis this on the other hand is so harsh I know he is smooth but so rough with them sticks it amazing. Also his heli is no basic kit ,after flying a bit of 3D with my raptor 50 the blade hanger snapped a ball off and hey presto it hit the deck!!
I've been in the hobby over 40 years, I have to admit Alan has an amazing amount of skill, Unfortunately this type of hard 3D flying is unpleasant if not annoying to watch. It's extremely abrupt and vulgar in nature, It lacks any semblance of grace. Its like watching Data on Star Trek recite poetry. While the moves are flawless it lacks any heart. One of the attributes of a heli that make it special is it's graceful motions in flight and grace is something this extreme type of flying is lacking
@Blaze1024 I will concede that the "instrument" that is being used, annoys the vision centers of your brain. Heck, you said it. I have been in the hobby 25 (since the last big gold stickers from AMA). It doesn't annoy me. Will you concede that the music put out with the instrument called guitar progressed to a place that some may find annoying to the audio receptors of the brain? Does it come with age? On the subject, what more can be done with a remote heli.?
@coyote20030 thats sorta his signature move "crack stick" its hard to see in the video but makes the helicopter shake and stutter during the maneuver.
i can do these 3d moves easily, the only different is after 10 secs, my heli would be on the ground look like a piece of metal and his heli is still on the air flying, honestly this is too sick
yeah, I know what you mean. Its like once you reach that level, where do you go from there. Thats when things get kinda boring or routine. Although he seems to be living a great life from flying these things. He get to travel the world for free, he gets a crap load of money from doing this, and he gets free equipment and stuff. its kinda cool!
on 2:15 it's easy to do, just let the heli crash in the ground with the throttle hold switch up and it will behave pretty much like that...lol. This guy can mow anyone's grass...:D
Here are ten facts 1. Your reading my comment 2. Now your saying/thinking thats a stupid fact. 4. You didnt notice that i skipped 3. 5. Your checking it now. 6. Your smiling. 7. you kidding me? Alan Szabo doesn't crash... don't you know he's only 1 inch tall and is actually inside that helicopter flying it? the dude with the joystick is just his life size stand-in
alan szabo is too cool to ever be seen by the human eye
hahaha. That to me is the only way i reckon he would be able to get those fast backwards inverted circuits straight into a chaos. No normal Human Being can do that. It's just impossible, no wonder he's arguably the worlds best.
LOOK! hes just twiddling the sticks around randomly!
ahah. sarcasm to the max. been to 3D masters in northampton and saw Mr Szabo's routine, a truly eye-watering amount of skill. Long live three dimensions!
I know how this is done! You just stir the right stick in a clockwise motion and the left stick in some random fashion and don't fly anywhere near gravity! Simple!!
Just damm crazy good!!!!!!!!!! It blows my mind after flying for 10+ years that someone could become this good....Hats off Alan for damm real!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, you are a king! Sick skills! Thank you very much for combining the video with stick movements, what a help! Big up to the guy who kept that chopper in view while doing such crazy shit!
i think he's doing that super fast jerking to create the rapid 'wopopop' sound of the blades throwing the air back and forth. he just knows how to do it in a controlled manner so that it still manages to create smooth movements. talk about really pushing the limits...not only do you get cool visual effects but interesting sound as well.
not really... the "wopopop"s are from the blades vibrating under extreme force. Hes switching the collective while the machine is going the opposite way, so the blades are stressed and will try to rip them selves apart because of the extreme momentary load that is placed on them. One DOESN'T want that noise but in this case carbon fiber blades can barley handle the maneuvers he is doing.
if you are referring to the stick movements, thats even more interesting. The servos are strongest when they move, and a servo holding a very specific spot can slop easier than a servo moving. Szabo keeps the servos constantly moving to get the most rock solid hub movement as possible even if his movements reflected on the helicopter are smooth.
poor servos...
