  • cute little boy

  • My son did that for a while, I think it was a general imitation of movies and conversations he was observing. After probably 8 weeks of speech therapy, 2 times a week, something finally 'clicked" and he figured out that we wanted him to imitate better. Right now, my son is 3 1/2 and says a TON of words, but no real conversation yet. They feel he will be mainstreamed. Fingers crossed. Your son is beautiful, its amazing how physically beautiful so many autistic children are....

  • It does get better - he reminds me of my daughter at that age. She still struggles with communication at 4 1/2 but is coping in mainstream school with lots of support. One small mountain climbed, loads to go.

  • i know ive watched this and commented on this before, but its come up again so here i am. he is so cute and i just cant get over how much he reminds me of my 3 year old son with his looks and his silly cute jargon babytalk.we now have a word in between every little bit of jargon so if we pay attention it starts to make a little bit of sense but still very delayed for his age.

  • Please update with a new video. My son was diagnosed at 26 months and has a ton of jargon like this, he is almost 3.5. He uses 100's of words now but still has a great deal of jargon and is attending ESE pre-k. As you know the future is so uncertain for these children, it helps to know what kind of progress these kids with this type of diagnosis are making. Thank you!

  • thank you for this. my daughter speaks like this a lot and has the same diagnosis. she has started to become more clear in her wants- now she requests in short sentences and labels a lot. but the funny noises she makes still are there and they melt my heart. he is beautiful.

  • you have a beautiful son. he's an angel. thank you for the updates. looking forward for the next.

  • I love him. My son Hunter will be 3 on 8/2/10. He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 2. God Bless this child with all his love.

  • My son just turned 3 and has been dx with PDD-NOS for 5 months. It's very new to us, but when he was dx he didn't 'speak' nas much as your son. Now, after group therapy 2x wk, pre k 1x wk and E.I. for a year... he is talking more and more. But the best part is that he is now communicating his needs and wants to us, by shaking his head yes or no when asked a question. My son has no other health issues and was a 'normal', healthy term baby. Just know that you and your precious child are not alone!

  • I wish you all th best

  • He is sooooooooooo cute....My son is 22 months, but diagnosed with 18..just like him...

  • If he's talking like this at three, there's hope. Just try and keep him focused.

  • my son has been diagnosed with a autism disorder( pdd-nos) ... he is 3 1/2

and still saying baby talk and we have no idea what he says .... your child will get thru this.... best of luck to both of you !

  • I just want to know what the rush is nowadays for kids to be the same as everyone else their age - if they talk at 2,3 or even 5 - really, the only people who it "bother" are usually interferring people with nothing better to do! I think your son is beautiful... he will probably grow up to be an absolute genius (probably already is)... thanks for sharing your sunshine with us :-)

  • Wow, that was my 6 year old at 4. He's in speech therapy at school.

  • He reminds me of my son (just turned 3) who also has PDD NOS. My son also has a speech disorder though, apraxia. :(

  • i'm srry and you shouldn't ever hope someone has this disorder... again i'm sorry and i wish him the best

  • My son has autism and is now 4 years old. At 3 years old, he sounded quite a bit like this! He his verbal these days, but still has issues with expressive language and sensory processing. My wife and I invented a little iPhone/iPod app to help him out. It's called "iPrompts" -- Google it if you're curious. We use it to show him visual schedules, timers and choices. It works pretty darn well for us! Good luck with your son!

  • shut the fuck up he has autism mabey some day you will have a kid that has autism so shut the fuck up be nice.

  • SOMEONE SHOULD TEACH YOU TO SHUT THE HELL UP! I am a mom of an autistic son, and I can't even find the words to describe how ignorant people like u disgust me... This kid is autistic - what is your excuse.... assholeism? Do a favor for all of us parents of autism.... EDUCATE URSELF OR CRAWL BACK INTO THE HOLE FROME WHENCE U CAME. the world would be betta off!

  • I have PDD-NOS too but i knew words before i was 1 year old and my parrents teached me how to read before i was 5. Everyones different. Was there something that your child could do before other kids? Like building towers with blocks? :D I was always building towers and then I'd make them collapse and rebuild them :)

  • Reminds me of my son. :) I hope they (yours and mine) will acquire language. Good luck!

  • Antony turned five In november. He can speak in broken short sentances. He's beautiful.

  • he is so verbal, that's probably a good thing. he at least has all the properly functioning parts for speech.

  • I see this video was posted over 2 years ago, how is your son speaking now?

  • I LOVE this kid

  • My son just turned four and he talks alot like your son although he can talk when he wants to.He was diagnosed PDD nos last year

  • My son will be 3 next month & talks the SAME way. It's been worrying me that he isn't really talking yet, I just called to get him into speech therapy. Maybe this is a secret language that only these kids know lol. I hope so!

  • meh if your autistic its normal to talk like that

must say though: im autistic as well and 23, i havent got any problem talking

its even so that im capable of repacking what someone else in short, easier to understand bits, no matter how difficult the words from the source are (autistic people may even know more than anyone around them does)

  • My son will be 3 in 2 weeks and he was diagnosed with PDD-NOS. When I was watching this video he started jibbering like your little boy..LOL :D

  • What a beautiful little boy!

  • He is SO CUTE!!! And my son apparently speaks the same language, so if you figure out how to translate, let me know ;)

  • SO CUTE- Oh if only I had videotaped my son at age 3- it was very similar. He was dx pdd-nos at age 3 and happy to say at age 5 is quite verbal. Some issues still are present with my son but are happy with his progress. Best of luck!

  • lol he speaks etruscan!

  • If you would say its an ancient inca language, he talks really real.

    Its really cute though.

A brother of a friend of mine is autistic to, and he had some learning curve to, but now, you dont really notice it really much anymore.

  • He is the cutest little boy ever. *hugs*

  • This is the first time I have seen a child almost the same age as my son Aidan that talks exactly the same. They could be twins, they have the same facial expressions, sounds, wide opened mouth everything. He is 2 1/2 and hasn't been diagnosed yet but I think he will be in the PPD NOS spectrum like his 3 year old brother. Very interesting video thank you for sharing.

  • my little brothers autistic to! Im so proud of him! hes like the best brother ever! When he was little he was a DEMON!! =] very cute

  • both of my kids 4 and 3 yrs have PDD-NOS and they both do this all the time! i call my son's (colby)jargon "colbish!"

  • Hehe.. He sounds like my two boys. My oldest was like this until we put him on the GF/CF diet, and my middle one is still a little "chatterbox" of jargon...

    He's a cutie!

  • he's looking out the window saying wats happening are they coming in when? they my new friend. where r they going dada?

  • Very lovely video. :)

  • antony just turnes 4 11-11-07 i plan on getting an updated video of him.he can label things now such as bus, bread, dog, and the alphebet and numbers up to ten. Still no real verbal communication but communicates in other ways.

  • lol he's too cute.

  • omg..he is soooooooooooo cute...he has his own little language

  • PDD-NOS means Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified which basically means your child has some autism traits but not enough to be truly considered autistic... Some of you mention screaming... Yes, there is a lot of screaming when you can't figure out what they want... And the screaming is from their own frustration - they understand others can communicate and they try but they can't and they become frustrated themselves...

  • Now at 8, he only falls back on jargon when he's emotionally overwhelmed, angry, tired, embarrassed. When he does we just say, "Son, speak English" and he snaps out of it. Two things that worked well for us back then were boardmaker and sign language.

  • My 8 year old with PDDNOS did this too. It's cute to a point but it can be frustrating when you just want to communicate with your child and he's giving you jibberish. All his friends spoke in complete sentences. Oddly, he has a friend that has known him and been close to him since infancy and for the years between 2 and 4 when the rest of us couldn't understand him, we would look to his buddy to "translate" and it worked!

  • i'm sorry, but i don't know what does "pdd-nos" mean... what is it?... can you tell me? i have a nephew that sounds very similar to your son, but he is 4... and we are from mexico...

by the way, your son is so cute!

  • Some people think it is cute or annoying when a child does this. Some think the children are dumb. They wouldn't think like that if they had no other way to communicate.

I have two younger brothers with PDD-NOS. The older didn't truly talk until he was six and the other is four right now, and he sounds like this, but he "talks" less. He'll scream if he wants something.

  • I have 2 boys with PDD-NOS... My 14 year old sounded just like this, my 4 year old now sounds like this... Brought tears to my eyes to see this video because even though it *is* cute in reality it is so sad...

  • I wanted to add that I listened to people telling me that the immunization shots were causing this... My 4 year old did not get any shots until he was 3 and he still got it so that definitely puts that theory down the tubes... At the age of 2 1/2 he had the vocabulary skills of a 10 month old...

  • He sounds like my Colin. :o)

  • My son is 6 1/2yrs. and he did not speak until he was around 4. He is doing well now and still has a lot to work on. He was diagnosed with ppd-nos when he was 4.I knew something was not right at age 2 1/2 but it took us a while to go through the whole process. Don't give up, it is a struggle at times, especially the fit throwing, but just remember, they are as frustrated as we are but just have a harder time saying it.

  • sounds like my girl she is 3.5

  • You don't say! :D what a sweety!

  • reminds me of my little boy at three who developed speach at 4 and is now at school and very articulate. He has some subtle issues like not always knowing if someone is joking and everything has to be explained espeacially abstract language but he gets it...he is beautiful and I can see he must bring you so much joy. There is no greater love

  • PDDNOS? This child looks and acts perfectly normally to me. He is responsive has a good vocabulary and does not seem to be lacking in social skills or communication. I work alongside autistic children and this is not a child I would consider as having an ASD at all.

  • If you don't see it, you have no business working "alongside" (whatever the hell that means)autistic children. Quit.

  • what a cutiepie!!!

my son only speaks in baby talk too.

he just turned 4 this febuary.

  • I have PDD-NOS too, (but I'm 15 years old).

  • When were you diagnosed? Do you feel it affects your daily life? If so ,then how?

  • Ehm... They diagnosed me between the age of 8 and 10 (not sure). They told me about it when I was 12. On primary school, I was always bullied, because I was different. Games didn't interest me, I usually just sat alone a bit. But I've learned to deal with it, now. People don't notice anything about me, now. There are still some things that are difficult. New experiences are difficult for me.

  • my god what a cute kid with a adorable voice!

  • this is a wonderful video and i think it shows that he will be able to talk very well,my lucas doesnt talk and he is 5 and a half yrs old but i do think that he will soon
