  • 0:39 I envy that cherry

  • Words of wisdom right there!

  • my mom was taking me and my friend to bball practice, and it was quiet, and she was like "why aren't you guys talking?

    i quoted :53

  • THAT SONG IN THE BACK GROUND WAS IN THE WARRIORS! LIKE 13 YEARS BEFORE THIS MOVIE!

    Warrrrriorrr's! Come out to plaaaaayyyaaayyyy!

  • what are the names of their characters?

  • @allarounddCowgirl Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace

  • haha i recognized the Rumble :) It Might Get Loud FTW!!!

  • Uma's acting is incredible in that movie. INCREDIBLE. Everything about her performance is absolutely perfect and natural. The more I watch this movie and the more I realize how subtle and disturbing her performance is.

  • For those who are looking for background music's author : Link Wray - Rumble

  • @gp77666 thank you very much sir!

  • @pyram1dhed DID YOU EVER FIND OUT WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE TRACK? IT'S NOT EVEN INCLUDED IN THE SOUNDTRACK CD! LET ME KNOW, THANKS ;)

  • @fetuccinn Link Wray - Rumble

  • what song is this

  • @TheBreakingma And who else should be if not Mia? I think I'm seeing a dialogue between Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega in this video!

  • @89lauralau In that scene the girl is not Mia!!!!

  • Could someone kindly confirm that these that follow are their exact words?

    Mia: Don't you hate that?

    Vincent: Hate what?

Mia: Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullshit in order to be comfortable?

    Vincent: I don't know. That's a good question.

Mia: That's when you know you've found somebody really special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably share the silence.

Cause I found several quotes of this dialogue and I'm a bit confused!

  • @89LauraLau Have you tried actually watching the video and listening?

  • @InFlames231 are you out of your mind? That's Vince and Mia

  • Favorite quote. ever.

  • Plus, it's lkke $7 in 1994 money.

  • Is $5 for a milkshake expensive?

  • @Daysra uh, yeah?

  • @Daysra i guess you are from europe too $5 is around 3 euros would you pay 3 euros for a shake?

  • @zkira67light well I wouldnt on a daily basis of course, but everything tend to be overpriced at casual diners. This to say in Vincent's place I wouldnt myself opt for the $10 shake but I wouldnt be too surprised about it. That place looked pretty fancy to me..

Anyway thanks for you reply :)

  • @Daysra but if an marylin monroe waitress would bring it than oh my i would buy 3

  • 5 people got fucked in the ass by ted

  • there is a more up tempo version of this song a couple mintues before this scene when they were talking about her tv show....anyone know the name of it? or was it just a mix or something

  • 1:05 when you can just . .

  • Love this scene. The track is brilliant playing over the silence is truely atmospheric. Fuckin awesome

  • Goddamn, that's a pretty fuckin' good milkshake.

  • @pyram1dhed you know that song's in "independence day" too - when russell is drunk in the diner and the other guys come in making fun of him.

  • @pyram1dhed

"Rumble" by Link Wray... trivia: the song that invented the power chord, as Link poked holes in his guitar amplifier. It was then banned from radio, even though it's an instrumental.

  • @mussman717word weird thing is i don't even think it is played with a power chord. Google it, you'll se what i mean. They say the song inviented it, but i can't find one tab that uses it. And it doesn't sound like power chords either

  • @dirosaga

Well, I guess it depends on what you call a "power chord." I would say define what Link plays here as "open power chords," because of the distortion and how long he lets them ring out. They're not barre-chords, and some people believe only barres can be power chords, but... you get the point, right? It doesn't matter, really.

  • This is how all first dates should be like

  • am i the only one that notices the funny face when he says "its pretty fucking good"

    -hilarious :P

  • Uma ma'am you sure made a good point "why do people yack about bullshit" this is what I call a date just sit back & chillax

  • Vince Vega RIPPPPPED on smack loves the $5 milkshake!

  • I love Uma in that scene, I love her hair and her eyes. ^~^

  • Travolta's expression after saying "Goddamn that's a pretty fucking good milkshake" always cracks me up!

  • uma thurman looks way better as a brunette

  • One of the best scenes in cinema history. What a truth she speaks in this bit!

  • Well put Uma...

  • she is absolutely gorgeous

  • That is so damn true. I swear to fucking god, there is a scene in this movie for everybody. This is just one example why this movie has one of the most unique and original dialogues ever put into film. Great piece of film making.

  • She should have never died her hair blonde this hair was working for her truly.

  • uma thurman was BRILLIANT in this movie

  • Solo obtengo silencio!!!

Incomodo, triste y solitario...supongo que no merezco otra cosa.

  • Tarantino is the God of dialogues.

  • I've only ever had that phenomenon with one friend. God, now I suddenly miss her like hell.

  • going on a date tonight...hope she is my Mia. lol

  • What is the name of that guitar tune that is playing?

  • Give the lady a prize-she summed it up... If only all dates went like this-the world=better place..

  • watch her cigarette

  • I love Silence, sometimes I just can't wait for my Girl to shut the Fuck up :~)

  • This philosophy is shared by my friends and I. Sometimes we'll just be sitting there for a long while with not a word being said and we don't find it uncomfortable as all. We talk when we have something to say.

I really wish more people were like this because like Mia said, "why do people yak about bullshit?"

  • Prefect example of Tarentino's brilliant dialog combined with the right soundtrack.

  • A very good point i must admit.

  • Link Wray - Rumble

  • what sound is in background ?

  • love the song in the background, does anybody know if it has a name or something?

  • if you look at one of the first comments on the video some one asked the same question.... apparently is called "Rumble" by Link Wray

  • Thank you very much, you just made my day

  • No problem! Link Wray was truly an amazing musician! check out more of his stuff than just this song if you get the chance.

  • I dont know but this is my favorite scene in the whole movie. I like the music in the backround it's perfect for this scene.

  • LOL, the best thing about this scene is that each one of us, at some point or the other, wanted to say what Uma just said but just couldn't, for whatever reason. Soooo true what she says. Sometimes, it is better to shut the eff up and enjoy the silence 'comfortably'

  • you know I said this EXACT shit to a woman before I'd ever seen this movie. She was like "Did you take that from Pulp Fiction?" and I said "What's pulp fiction?" Then we watched it and went off and shagged for about an hour and a half.

  • link wray - rumble

  • @MeMoSPA you know it's a shame this song never made it on the CD of the Pulp Fiction Sndtrk.

  • @MeMoSPA ily x

  • really? like a 1in 3 shot . i think i try it2

  • Absolutely. People should not only feel the need to make crappy smal talk about the weather or "hows ur mum?".

I have found 33% of the time when chatting to a girl, when i say "what ur saying is boring, do u wanna fuck?" It works.

  • I gotta try that sometime.

  • or when theyre talkin shit, just interrupt em and go in. if they feelin you it works like a charm

  • if this study is true, you are awesome.

if not, it's somewhat believable. good lie.

  • 33% of the time, you're talking to a skank, because that's rather disrespectful.

  • does it really work?

  • man i love this song!!!!

  • thanks!

  • The restaurant scene always makes me want a burger and milkshake.

  • Marcellius Would've Been Too Busy Healing His Pride And Ego After His Horrific Rape To Throw Anybody Off A Balcony.

  • That scene was before Marcellius was raped!

  • It's Hard To Tell! It's Safe To Say That The Scenes In This Movie Are Not In Order.

  • Agree, but in the scene where Marcellius was raped a bit earlier Butch had killed Vincent...

  • Damn, Good Point ! I Think The Marcellius Incident And The Vincent Murder Happened In The Next Day Or Two After This Little Night Out. LOL

  • If Mia Had Never OD'd, Vincent Would've Pounded That For Sure.

  • And got thrown of a pateo balcony onto a fucking green house.

  • brilliant

    far, my favorite movie

btw, anybody knows whats the song thats playing at the pub while they speak? thanks!

  • cheers dude

  • Link Wray "Rumble"

  • whats the tune playing called????? Anyone?

  • Yeah I totally noticed that too

  • Uma speaks the truth.

  • the best thing about pulp fiction is that in every scene i watch in youtube someone says thats the best scene... thats because the movie is a "best scene" from start to end... a truly masterpiece

  • one of the best scenes from the film i think. I thought the story line about butch and his grandfathers watch nearly could of been left out, or shortened.

  • without understanding why he went back to the apartment, we wouldn't have known why he shot travolta.... so although i agree it's not the best bit, it is necessary

  • the question you should really b asking yourself is y the fuck vincent left his machine gun out in the open wen he was taking a shit.

  • There was noone home upon his intended death raid, so no threat was present. Do you take your machine gun in to shit sessions with you? I suppose he should have had it in his hands while trying to wipe, pointing steadily at the door until something happens.

  • hes a gangster. it is different. he should have been smarter. he should ALWAYS keep a gun with him and never leave it out

  • But he wasn't a bumbling, insecure gangster like the ones we may know of. He and Jules are cool muthafukkas who are calm and collected and take shits in peace. His style just so happened to have fucked him up this time. That is the character Tarantino created.

Not to mention, did you see the size of that bathroom? Vincent is a relatively large guy, the uzi with the über silencer was pretty damn big and the bathroom was tiny!

  • @MixtMarshall lol

  • As said below...imagine you're Vince, in apartment on stakeout for probably days, and nothing, NOTHING has happened. You go to take a 5 min crap. You open the door and Bruce Willis is there with your gun. The movie is largely about confluence of timelines, which is why it is told in a non-linear way.

  • he was only there that morning. no matter how long a gangester has been there he ALWAYS keeps his gat on him.

  • Did you see the size of the bathroom? Barely bigger than Travolta. I doubt the gun would even fit.

And, lets not speak to authoritatively my friend. I doubt you've been the gangsta on stakeout in some guys apartment...it's not like there's a book on protocol.

  • dude. no matter what you always keep your weapon with you. now ur just trying to convince yourself with random "mights". You dont have to b a gangster to know that its stupid laying your only gun out in the open, especially wen ur waiting for the man ur suppose to hit and at his house. its common sense. as a gangster you should always fear the worst for yourself and be prepared. this is not quantum phisics here.

  • No, it isn't. But it IS a movie. Get over it.

  • My point IS that he deserved to get what had coming to him, leaving out his gun on a kitchen of a man's house's table. it had played a significant part in the movie though. Everytime Vincent leaves to go to the bathroom in the movie something bad happens. Mia ODs, the resuraunt get held up, he gets shot and killed. It might be a theme symbolizing that when your on a job you always stick to the job, no shit breaks, and to always keep your guard up.

  • Good point, BigRed.

  • one of my favorite scenes ever. I think this movie is at its best when thurman and travolta are on screen. too bad its so early in the movie, because IMO it doesnt really get any better than this part. I find the Wolf-part a bit boring compared to this and Sam Jacksons scenes.

  • truly awesome..now i realize the peculiar feeling inside my stomach is actually caused by a situation called 'uncomfortable silences'.

  • one of the most real quotes i've heard

  • i remember that song from a movie by no other than robert rofriguez in a movie called "roadracers" with David Arquette and salma hayek '94 too. :)

  • right on

  • TRUE.

  • god i love her character, beautifull with dark hair and green eyes and also fly and cool yet very smart and deep :D

  • @bizu08 yeah, I agree. I can't seriously think of anyone else that would fit as Mia as well as Thurman. Her character is emotionally strong as well as deep. It is great how Tarantino could put so much depth into all of these characters.

  • "Don't you hate that? Hate what?Uncomffortable silences"

Good to try in first, nerveous, date. These words is kind of comment that can only imagined by person like Mr. Tarantino. He always have things to broke the ice, even in very uncomffortable silences situation. Truly natural born killer

  • that was a terrible comment. sorry for the embarrassment but its true

  • i fucking love this scene

  • Why this movie is so fucking good. Why it's soo good!?

  • That's Quentin Tarantino For You. =]

  • Hey amazing movie......could someone tell me from whom the music in the background is?

  • Link Wray "Rumble", i went on a search for it myself

  • Cool thank you...Now practising it with my guitar!!

  • good video
