Nothing complex about it, Islam is pretty much not compatible with democracy (muslim opinion, not mine), but in Iran they decided it is a good idea to have "civil" face - that is what they are electing. It is true many women still wear scarf, but the big question is why. Is it because they are really religious? Is it because they are afraid? My guess would be the 2nd.
