I'd like to see more comments added to the screen while you're talking, eg: what's object oriented programming(or that you'll cover the concept later), why c++ sucks, etc. the video can convey alot more information than just simple list onscreen + your voice. otherwise, i'm looking forward to watching the rest of series. thanks!
@Paetilium I was referring to the video series as a whole. As far as a know, when I created this series, no one else had been using videos to teach Ruby, and when I was learning Ruby, I wished that I could've gone through some video tutorials.
@parks709 I think pressing CTRL+C should clear it up (or maybe it's command+C because it's a mac, sorry, I'm kind of rusty). Tell me how that works, if it doesn't, I'll try to look into it further.
bit puzzled why you give suitable ruby application as 'games programming' then say steer away from computation intensive application when games are some of the most computation intensive apps you can write.
btw C++ didn't bring object oriented into the world
OK! The tutorials are a nice idea; but I have some suggestions with regard to the presentation:
1 Give a brief summary stating why "Dynamic Scripting Languages" such as Ruby are better suited for Web Application development. What is the merit of using Ruby instead of another language? etc ...
3. C++ is not the first language to use Object Orientation! C++ uses object orientation artificially! As you may know.
1. I would, but I don't know much about Web Applications. I mainly use Ruby to write scripts and games, not web sites. I know Ruby better than any other language, a comparison would probably be too biased.
2. Woah, where did two go?
3. Yeah I know, that part of the video was more like a hierarchy instead of a history. Though C++ is one of the more well know OO languages. Sorry about that.
I'm very interested in learning ruby scripting as I hear it's great as a first language. So far most books I've read seem more complicated then they really have to be. Thanks for these vids!

quick question. I am using Mac OSX and its Terminal to practice Ruby. When you mess up on a line, how do you restart a line?
Now that I messed up on one line, it won't read any of the lines afterwards.

@petegrifutube You're certainly right, games can be very computationally expensive, but I haven't had any problems writing games in Ruby.
My apologies for saying C++ was the first.

Definitely videos are the best way to learn, i have no doubt about it. I think in the future all will be around videotutorials and videolectures.
Thank you for your time in doing this tutorial...
