keep workin on it man. not too shabby but i see a few things. your stances are kinda sloppy and their is no snap in them. and try to avoid using your arms for all the strikes. it looks stressed and way too forced. use your BODY for the strikes. but like i said, not too bad. =]
this form is usually done more slowly and the object is to strengthen the practitioners body and tendons as well as circulating the chi. The fighting application that is taught along with it involves much shorter movements. In other words the exercises he was doing are for conditioning not fighting. I do not do long fist but did live in Taiwan for 20 years and that is what one of the founders of Taiwan long fist told me.
do you really believe this would be an effective method of defending yourself? I'm generally interested because I think most styles would tear apart and Shaolin Long Fist Kung Practitioner
@TheRugbyking101 thats cuz most ppl dont train shaolin properly anymore. and its generally not their fault. it's their instructors fault. most ppl are lead into this grand illusion that what they are taught in "shaolin" is this secret perfect weapon. i have trained shaolin for 17 years now and YES it is effective when TRAINED correctly, but i would say 98% of our practitioners DON'T train it right. and THESE ppl are the ones that make shaolin look weak.
You really need to work on your breathing. You should not be winded after that much. I don't know how they breath in your kung fu. But most you should be breathing with the tounge on the upper pallet.
Keep up the excellent work!

Please note that there is no hop when you turn to your right after you block. The knife hand strike is done in a bow stance.
You also need to have your stances a little lower, other than that now too bad.
A very good reference book is Shaolin Long Fist Kung Fu by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming
