  • Hmmm, i must be an East End Boy...

  • Call the police, there's 91 people around...

  • wow i was in brazil 1985 wen i listen to this song

  • best of 80s..

  • ...What's with these arguments? Enjoy the damn music, everyone!

  • my mom love this song

  • Man, i would give it all just to be born in the 60s, so i had lived the golden days of music from the 60s to 80s, fuck this lipsyncking piece of shit music of the 21st century, fuck bieber and black and that shit, 20th century music ftw

  • This song is so cryptic... It has this mysterious feel to it. It makes you think...

  • sport in my heart

  • Sadly you will not see the streets this way in a century people; muslims will take over England due to the fact muslim population will overtake London and impose sharia laws and say its their religion right; women force to wear burkas and gay men chased out. Music like this banned from showing in muslim areas; mainstream muslims are under the control of radical muslims people; they are waiting for the day they outnumber non-muslims then go radical.

  • @pgs5719 The tragedy is, that, far too many Europeans and Euro-Americans are brainwashed in the doctrine and ideology of "White Guilt", and "ethno-masochism", in which, they absolutely refuse to acknowledge, let alone defend, their own ancestral culture...it really sucks that Europeans aren't "living for tomorrow"...when will Europeans and Euro-Americans wake up?

  • @GemCan78 You got that 100% and the white leftists in Europe and America are useful idiots to our Islamofacist enemies and they don't realize radical muslims are bent on conquering all of Europe and America...I hate to see the days of that. People of England better wake up to that when music will be banned by these 7th century throwbacks.

  • @pgs5719

"they don't realize radical muslims are bent on conquering all of Europe and America..."

and your too stupid to realize that it aint gonna happen.... and being a nazi fascist like yourself won't change that either way.

  • @pgs5719, Europe is too sissified to do anything about Muslims. America has its problems, but at least the 20 million illegal Mexicans are mostly Catholic. Must suck to have that many Muslims in your land. God Bless America!

  • @EastCoastDude99 Unfortunately, you're right...most Europeans have been brainwashed by a century of Leftist ethno-masochism, which has all but destroyed any forms of European cultural, ethnic, and racial awareness...plus, the birthrate in virtually every single European country, is well below the level needed to maintain a stable society...when will Europeans wake up?

  • @GemCan78 "a century of leftist ethno-masochism"? So, Hitler was a leftist? You're clearly unaware the Third Reich was backed by the catholic church. not to mention Franco, who was also backed by, you guessed it, the Catholic church. The worst totalitarian regimes of the 20th century were backed by the right-wing of the Catholic church. Do yourself a favour, and read a little more Christopher Hitchens and a little less National Review. Your part about the birth rate has echoes of eugenics too.

  • @MattSingh1, "The Worst totalitarian regimes were back by the Right of the Catholic church"? LOL, Gee I didn't know Stalin (who killed more people then Hitler) was Right Wing? Love how you conveniently leave him out. You filthy Left Euro-trash are comical. Ironic how you have nothing good to say about America but have no problem using youtube, an America entity. I bet you're a lazy socialist pig too like most European filth. FUCK your filthy Muslims and FUCK YOU! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  • @EastCoastDude99 you said it brother!!!! damn right!!!

  • @EastCoastDude99 (1) "Gee I didn't know Stalin (who killed more people then Hitler) was Right Wing?" Up until 1917, the Czar of Russian ruled, and for decades the people of Russia were told he was not just human, but semi-devine; If you’re Joseph Stalin, you shouldn’t be in the dictatorship business if you’re not going to exploit that river of servility and credulity (cont)...

  • @EastCoastDude99 ..(cont) (2) “Love how you conveniently leave him out. You filthy Left Euro-trash are comical” I have no party-affiliation (3) “Ironic how you have nothing good to say about America...” But I do; I admire the bold, brave beautiful constitution, which guarantees a separation of church and state, something the likes of yourself don’t respect or appreciate. People like you try to subvert the constitution. (cont)...

  • @EastCoastDude99 ...(cont) (4) “I bet you're a lazy socialist pig too like most European filth.” Not really, but yes, I believe in a single-payer healthcare system, am against the death penalty, and am anti-theist (however I supported the intervention in Iraq). (5) “FUCK your filthy Muslims and FUCK YOU! GOD BLESS AMERICA!” Yes, we need to fight Fascist Islam. God didn’t bless America, though, and even if He did, your constitution forbids any establishment of religion.

  • @GemCan78, America may have a liberal dipshit of a President, But America is still Center-Right. Too bad more Europeans arn't aware like yourself. Thank God for the Second Amendment (gun rights) which most of Europe doesn't have if Im not mistaken.

  • @EastCoastDude99 paedophile priests, the lie that was Limbo, blaming ALL JEWS of ALL-TIME for the death of Christ, supporting the Nazi regime totally and entirely...yeah, Catholicism is great. You're woefully, ignorantly ill-informed. And no, God didn't bless America, although it's amusingly ironic you would show the same religious zeal you deride in others. Typical religious nutjob theist; every other religion is nonsense but your own.

  • This song is so good. You just don't get anything like this anymore.

  • I thought the lead singer was the hottest thing ever back in the day!!!

  • why dont they guy be nice and let his little brother sing too?

  • "Oh the good ole days" ...come on, it wasn't as good as we choose to remember it.

We're just getting old now and like all old people we think it was better then than it is now.

It's good now too. Morals are lower? I doubt it.

There's nothing new under the sun. -Marcus Aurelius

  • what's interesting is that the east end is now full of people listining to music based on stuff like this

  • What's up with the other guy to the side. Looks like he wants to sing too, but he's not allowed. Maybe he's not cool yet. Just follow me around like a puppy and someday I'll let you say something..... Just don't embarrass me

  • Why that eff do I i have to see Lil Gremlin Wayne on the background of this video?

  • @nayah1979 for sure Lil Gayne... looks like a cracked out troll with down syndrome.

  • it was always because of western boys at tanenbaum

  • I listened to the lead singer a few months ago... (I forgot his name... SAD) he's voice has never changed!- and never will. FOREVER YOUNG!

  • @lozziestar4eva neil tennant i think

  • i think everyone's forgetting these guys were extremely handsome.

much more sexy than anything nowadays and im not gay!!!

really the 80s were the best

  • @angerMANAGEMENT4me U shoe U ain't gay?

  • @max31416 You SURE you don't need GRADE SCHOOL?

  • @DetroitDieselBob Just teasing Bob, I don't mean anything by it.

  • @DetroitDieselBob Perhaps you (or somebody else) could help me. I remember seeing a long time ago this Pet Shop Boys video, in which they were coolly (perhaps a bit excentrically) dressed, and they were walking down the street with some big dogs. I liked the song, although for the life of mine I cannot remember which one it was. Do you happen to remember which video I am talking about?

  • @angerMANAGEMENT4me yes i do agree on the fact that the 80's was the best.....

  • Chhse I agree with you class of 87 here

  • 42 here song still rocks as it did when I was 17

  • Wynter♥this:)

  • I was surprised to recently learn the Pet Shop Boys have sold over 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the most successful acts ever. Nice to see they are still around, even if most of the US music fans don't care anymore.

  • Christine Woods, are you out there?

  • Pet Shop Boys made brilliantly crafted pop songs. If Madonna is in the hall of fame then why not them along with Culture Club?

  • Fall, 1986, saw this killer video on MTV as a freshman at Penn State, along with Robbie Nevil's 'Ces't La Vie'. The best semester/year of my life. What an innocent time in my life..... Today fucking blows...

  • Last year in Las Vegas this song came on in one of the casinos and with 15 vodka drinks in my system I started to dance with some young woman and (me at 50), well the look on my sons and his friends faces was priceless. Give me the late 70's and 80's music any day of the week.

  • @bmar131 OMG! I just about pee'd in my pant when I read this!!!! I totally agree with you mate, this shite misic of today does not even compare with the music of the 70's and 80's! Im 40 this year and still feel 20! Yay!!!! =)

  • parlaphone, that's right like kntrider007 said. this was when the music was genuine, i will miss the 80s x ever, thank's god youtube abd people like you for keep alive this music, long life x pet shop boys.

  • Give me 5 or more likes and I'll play this song on my mom's iPhone and hug my babysitter to this song!!!! XD

  • That red shutter could do with a fresh coat of paint.

  • It is really shocking how much British culture had on American music in the 80s.

I hate the frickin Lymies, but they gave me a lot of happiness in my youth.

Then the British went into the trance house music culture in the 90s and America went her separate way off a cliff, and now we are both two countries devoid of any culture.

We can never go back and the sun may have set on our respective empires, but we have access to electronic recordings that will never die as long as the earth rotate.

  • the only thing i hate about this video is the VEVO

  • I agree!!

  • That chick @ 2:56-2:58 with the icecream cone is looking at them like "Okaay.....What the fuck's your problem?" LOL..

  • "Just you wait till I get you home!!!

  • SCREW YOUR COMMERCIALS

  • one of the most famous songs when clubing and no worries about what was going to be the reprecusion of tomorrow would bring. hope heaven brings back the 80's!!

  • Inner City Pressure, anyone?

  • @Celestion321 LOL, awesome

  • i am building a time machine....

    accepting all donations

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt ...So am I..................

  • @MaTchBoOkPoEt ...I could live from August 1985 to August 1986 over and over again forever !!! Wish I had known how special that time was gonna' be, I would have respected it much more!! :(

  • The greatcoat was made for tall strutting men of confidence.....

  • Check out the nu disco version of West End Girls on Beatport by Ginobeat

  • Ecstasy was legal when this song came out.I used to get so fucked up on that shit.

    80's Music is the essence.

  • Back when music was actually good music and people knew what musical talent is...How did fucktards end up taking over the music industry? crackwhore gaga and bieber are talented enough to be relevant? Gotta be fucking kidding me. Sad sad music world we live in now thanks to these fucktards that made music what is today

  • stupid annoying adverts. just want to listen to the song.

  • Is that his boyfriend in the background?

  • Comment removed

  • the early 90s weren't so bad either

  • The 80's was the dawning of basically everything that is great about today. Cars went from carbs to fuel injection. Arcade games went from being in the mall to inside the house. Computers went from science fiction movies to class rooms. The only thing that has gotten worse since the 80's is the music.

  • His coat is badazz

  • damn! i miss the 80,s ! class of 1989 texas

  • great video from pet shop boys memories are golden.

  • 80s forever! time doesnt change...people do!

  • i partied almost constantly from 1982 to 1989 i remember this song from the party

  • I like all in the 80's ... except clothes and hair fashioned !!!

  • london in the 80s when young londoners spoke like londoners, and not like Ali-G or professsor green haha

  • ppl crack up because this is 1 of my ringbacks.

  • AHHHH when music was genuine. Now it's all about looks, not talent like Frank Zappa said, you have an easier shot making it these days if you have no talent but look the part, then if you have talent but not the looks. Music was so real and not about trying to be all cool pushing satanic morals like materialism, money, sex, drugs, violence, self glorification etc. We are living in sad times and it will NEVER be simple like it was in the 80's and 90's again.

  • @herbprophet So True

  • @herbprophet Amen to that!

  • @herbprophet I was a teen in the 80s so I love the music, but let's not sound like older generations! I remember older people back then saying our music was not "real" because of all the electronics and how much simpler life was in the 60s and 70s. And of course older people then said the same thing about the baby boomer era music. Some things don't change. And I don't know exactly when Zappa made that quote, but it must have been a long time ago.

  • @herbprophet Holy shit!! I agree with you.

It's sad how good music like this no longer has radio dominance anymore like todays garbage has

  • @17NJDevilsfan Well time moves on...Music from the 1950's didn't have radio dominance in the 80's any more than 80's music does now.

  • @aeronuk1 But still, when people put on the radio they could still get their favorite station to hear the music they like, they didn't need to come on here only back than in order to hear their music they love.

Radio stations are different in every state and since I am from NYC, I got 6 fucking pop stations that play todays horse crap music and there's just no good rock stations anymore and so I gotta only come on here or listen to my ipod to hear the music I grew up listening to

  • @aeronuk1 Yeah time moves on, but in this centurey it moved on for the worse though.

  • @herbprophet what a whitewash of the past. have you ever heard of milli vanilli? all those "satanic morals like materialism, money, sex, drugs, violence, self glorification" were in full swing in the 80s and 90s, too. don't kid yourself.

  • @marzilyas It was never perfect but since those years its only got worse

  • @marzilyas We live in a fallen world, of course these satanic morals have been in music and the entertainment industry for decades. The point I'm making is they are MUCH more prevelant NOW, than ever. Example I grew up to watching shows like Saved By the Bell, and Fullhouse, now kids grow up watching admiring, and emulating people from shows like Jersey Shore etc. I played games like Mario bros. in my youth, now kids have the option to rape and kill hookers after screwing them in games like GTA.

  • @freckles3100 I agree with you

  • i get goosebumps when those trumpets come ... AHH!! i love 80's music im only 15 :) thank you mommy and daddy

  • I wish I could just walk around and say nothing like that and look cool!

  • teehee.... flight of the conchords.

  • It was always about the west end boys at tanenbaum

  • This was one of the last songs I heard before I was in a car accident back in 2008. Every time I hear this song, I remember that terrifying day..

  • @ 2:28 - I love the way Chris Lowe momentarily breaks into a boogie & then looks all embarrassed :) I think he knew this spectacular record was going to be an awesome hit!

  • And Dusty Springfield (RIP) doing background vocals - a beautiful voice.

  • Nothing compares to the 80's music today.

  • eighties dance music

  • When the music was still in MTV...

  • takes me back to the days when people made good music. besides rap the rest of todays music sucks

  • beautiful music ... great trumpet (with mute?), and the wonderful, slighty breathy voice of the singer, as well as the percussion, make this song one to sway too - this song is ONE OF THE BEST!

  • It takes me back to the days when MTV and VH1 actually played music videos!!

  • @Kntrider007

It takes me back to the days when MTV and VH1 played remember the 80's. Man, the 90's were a hell of a time.

  • @Kntrider007 Wait, then what did you watch?

  • inner... inner city... inner city pressure

  • I would LOVE to have been in the U.K. in the 80's if for no other reason than the music...

  • coolest hook ever

  • Flight of the Conchords - Inner City Pressure brought me here.

  • A great song from a great singing group.

  • Now That's What I Call Music 12 anyone?

  • Sometimes I wonder if the 80's were mankind's peak....Innovation appears over...

  • @jordan390a The 80's may have been the best of times...and with such a bright future.

Didn't take long to ruin that, did it?

  • Love

  • west end girl

  • BOBBY O is back !!!

  • man takes me back!

  • West End, Soho clubbing was London fun on a Saturday night, the ally-ways echoed to this tune.

  • #1 when i was being born

  • Eastern boys are east Berlin boys dressing up as western Berlin girls. This was before the wall fell in 1990 I was there in Berlin then.

  • Thank God for the 80's were on the drop side and decline now.

  • you've got a heart of glass or a heart of stone, just you wait 'til I get you home ;*

  • wish I was born back then. But no, I'm almost 19. I have to grow up in the middle of all this shit!

  • These guys were a bit unusual ,but they made great music, and no u r not the only one who mutes all commercials ,!!!!

  • One of the funkiest pop hit of the 80s

  • 80s were the best times, that´s not nostalgia, it´s a fact.

  • @kanaiboded the best era of musik...why? the options you had along with the quality.

  • @kanaiboded it cannot be proven with empirical evidence, therefore it is not a fact.

  • @cowboys430isback empirical evidences doesn´t matter, in NO case.

  • @kanaiboded so in criminal trials, FBI doesn't need any empirical evidence to trial the suspect. Yyyyeeeeaaahhhh, good try but you fail

  • @kanaiboded I have to agree... in all musical genres, it was the music that mattered, not necessarily the artist's flashiness or willingness to have their lives out for everyone to see.

  • Am I the only one that mutes all this commercials..???

  • going on 40! long term fan!

  • These boys used to go HAM.............loved them then and love then now....

  • I just literally hit the 10,000th like.

  • The Eighties & London..........what a dream combination :)

  • I hate England but BOY, those kids are creative!!!

  • @warfield1212 Why do you hate England? Where are you from?

  • Still a great tune!!!

  • I've always wanted to have a guy sing this to me...so after he was done i could tell him I grew up on the east end of town :P

  • A very good hit single from the 80's.

  • @rockdj63077 Duh.

  • i still cant find the alt extended with the extended intro... i dowloaded a torrent once and it was on it but cant find it

  • @2:59 I used to love that movie Fletch w/ Chevy Chase!!

  • I like the extended version.

  • You can totally tell while they were shooting they specifically asked people that weren't white to leave the shot. Then took the time & spent the extra money on film in order to re-shoot so it could be as caucasian as possible. @sugarcubicle look beyond all that. It's 20 flippin' 12.

  • I'm sure they poured their souls into a creative project to have it dissected for diversity.

  • Never realized ole Dusty had a lisp... hummm

  • man they killed that song these white boys had soul

  • pioneers of music why dont the good things last forver..life sucks.

  • Love it at 3:09 when That Austin Maestro cuts up that Ford Escort on Regents Street Great shot!!!!

  • :)

My parents always played these songs along with Sting, U2 etc.

I was born on the wrong generation, but thanks to my parents I actually found the right generation for music.

  • me li sono vissuti tutti gli anni 80...magici..e una musica da paura..

  • I was born in the wrong generation.

  • one my all time favorites boy how time flys by

  • these guys are from the same town David Bowie came from. Great song

  • I miss the 80's well not sure i was born in '83 i was probably i little girl but i grew up listening to these songs from my parents, lol we agree that those times will never come back :( but i just long 80's music some 70's lol but i guess ima true 80's girl <3 peace love and rock my friends

  • @sweetbabygurl26 Great comment! Notice how noone says that about the 00's. That's because the 00's are one of worst decades of music in recorded history.

  • @sweetbabygurl26 me too!!! I was born in '83 but still prefer to listen to this music. :) when i was in middle school and hs my friends picked on my and were listening to rap crap. lol now we have a local bar that plays 80's music/videos and they all wanna go with me. lol :)

  • this was recorded in JohnsonCity TN. The castle. My friend played guitar in the studio for this song. It was the rock walls that gave it the cool sound it has.

  • This song got me hooked to the Pet Shop Boys way back when.

  • Lonely Island, Jizz in my Pants.

  • thats when the uk had a great nhs system, not half as many diseases, plenty of work to go around (except for the lazy), "alot less crime"(especially nasty crimes which did exist but not on todays scale) far less fraud and cross channel card cloning etc, just a better, safer, cleaner more honest place to live.I think the arnie films and the likes "where you would see sinister leaders and guys at the top"plotting against thier own people, seems to have rubbed off on the toffs who have finished the uk.

  • @mrmrdean1 Of course. Then the 'Political Correctness' brigade took over and stifled debate on any issues of interest to the people. That is the legacy of Blair & New Labour.

  • london really was that white in the 80,s,you had areas around london that there were alot of blacks in,but to walk around inner city london it was mainly white people.how times fly aye?.

  • Check out "inner city pressure" by flight of the conchords

  • I like his black tie , oh and this song rocks too !

  • HOW MUCH CAN IT BEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
