  • Has anyone noticed how much Mick Mars' guitar sound on Motley Crue's "Too Fast For Love" album sounds like Andy Scott's in this clip? I have read where Motley cite Sweet as an influence, but you can really tell here.

  • what a gem

  • love it! rock and roll

  • wel the vocals are live for shure, the rest is har to knowbut seems live too look at the guitar solo.

  • TURN IT DOWN 3 NAVY CHICKEN HIM WATCH REDUCTION NEIGHBOUR

  • If you think that modern music is better... THEN THERE IS SOMETHING VERY!!!! WRONG WITH YOU!

  • @showaddywaddyfan i agree completely! there are very few bands that even come close to Sweet (MAYBE Shinedown). all music today is about love, sex, and drugs. it doesnt even hold a candle to Sweet, the Beatles, or the Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, or Queen. i would give anything to be alive during the 70's and 80's! and this is coming from a 14 year old haha.

  • @ittems Your talking to a 16 year old who thinks that modern music is bollocks lol all true I'm afraid. I love oldies such as 50's & 60's Rock 'n' Roll and of course 70's Glam Rock.

  • @showaddywaddyfan no 80's hairbands? :(

  • @ittems No, not a fan of the 80's I'm afraid. I'm a rocker you see lol

  • @showaddywaddyfan i am too dont worry haha. but there were some good bands in the 80's; Poison, Warrant, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Damn Yankees :D

  • The Best Video I Have Seen Of This Song!

  • The best version ever. You can hear the rickenbacker so good.

  • mittlerweile haben ja 2 den löffel abgegeben. leider.

  • So cool to find these clips! This is one of the few actual live TV performances I've heard from Sweet. Most of the TV broadcasts in the 70's made the musical guests lip-synch and/or "air play" to pre-recorded rhythm tracks. Being a Sweet fan AND a Rick nut, this is pure heaven to me!

  • @MarkWalkerMusic My name is also Mark Walker! :-0

  • @afterlee Get the F out! There are already WAY too many of us! I personally know two other Mark Walkers now besides yourself - one in Seattle, and one in England. We could start an army.

  • @MarkWalkerMusic Hahaha! An army of me - ace! There was a guy who played drums with - oh yes! ROLF HARRIS!!! called Mark Walker. He wrote a book...

  • People could learn a lot from this shit

  • TURN IT UP!

  • Ultra geniale Performance von Sweet !!

    Wer Sweet nicht kennt hat

    die Welt verpennt ! :)

  • That is pure Hard Rockin' talent! Love the bass, guitars, drums, vocals... not in that order. The sweet rocked harder than any other group (including the might zep) of their time. Very talented!

  • The band is just pure charisma in this clip!

  • CLASS....

  • Unbelievable this could transcend over thirty years of genre and you could put it in the punk, heavy metal, hard rock, all like the piece of a puzzle in music history and it would fit and not have a dated time line specific to one era. These guys were frigging light years ahead of their time!

  • @rvphoto damn right!!!

  • Love Brian's raw voice here, but i'm missing the typical Sweet-harmonies in the chorus?!

  • that glases brian is wearing doesnt realy suite him O.o

  • Hey Josh Man... what else did they play on this program?THANX FOR THE POST!

  • Fuck yea!! that bass hits like a JACKHAMMER!!

  • thanx for the post!what ELSE did they play on the show. You dont think they are trying to call anyone out on this,do you?

  • when i hear this version in my head i hear ragtime keyboards, thanx to the ric. GOD I LOVE IT.

  • first i immediately fell in love with ballroom blitzin the 70s and played it over and over and over again.a couple years later it was action! from the first time i heard it.a couple of years ago i finally heard sweet fa for the first time and again play it still over and over. Now,thanx to u tube,i watch this video at least 5 times a day.And while the rest of their videos seem to be missin something,THIS 1 IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!Only dp speed kings and jp victim of changes 1983 match up.

  • I think the sound of the sweet did`nt only have to do with the "dirty" guitar riffs from Andy, but also the marvelous - unique drumming from Mick.

  • That Rickenbacker bass sounds *horrible* - what was he thinking? The record has a much more Fender P sound and works way better.

  • @RamonesKaraoke

You're crazy, the bass sounds great. It's raw, dirty....full.

  • @RamonesKaraoke I agree with Schbopo. @RamonesKaraoke should listen to the album " All the world`s a stage " by Rush. Geddy Lee uses a Rick on this record, and if you think it sounds horrible, you obviously have no ear for real Rock n Roll.

  • @RamonesKaraoke That rick sound is heavy duty! breaks windows and busts walls. Brilliant! So when are we going to have a new group that can do this? I'm waiting.

  • chinn and chapman wrote the lions share of their hits but surely the band composed those badass riffs didnt they?

  • @armwrastl

Yes. The arrangements are by Sweet.

  • This song was banned, I bought a copy as soon as it was released, then couldn't understand why it never made the charts.

  • holy shit...this is where manowar got their costume ideas. sweet rules

  • I Think The BBC banned this song ?

  • Yes, they banned this song because of the lyrics. This is a very good song, though.

  • the sound of the bass is great.

  • What an underrated song! This songs stills rocks after 35 years! RIP Mick and Brian!

  • ye it is an extremely underrated song making the sweet end their 6 times in a row of #1s

  • Live gespielt. Wie geil! Danke für`s einstellen!!!!!!!

  • Brian was always my favorire singer and he would always be!

The old Sweet was the best group ever!

  • DOESNT GET ANY BETTER

  • Rewelacja. Mogę tego słuchać cały czas. The Sweet to numer jeden jak dla mnie.

  • I just love the Rickenbacker sound!

  • Brian was beat up by 4 guys outside a pub, they smashed his throat on purpose: that's why Steve had to do some vocals on the lp Sweet fanny adams and Brian had a ''raw rock voice'' since that event and never completely recovered from it.

I wonder what those fuckers think today, can't imagine they're proud of it beating up 1 guy with 4. Cowards!

  • Brian should be my idol if i lived back in the 70's. I am thirteen now, that means that i was born in 1995. I WANT TO LIVE IN THE 70's! THE SWEET!

  • That would be me--and I wish I was born 10 years earlier. My brother and I have been into SWEET since "Little Willy" in '73--saw them in '79--wish I saw them w/ Brian. They kicked ass then and kick ass now...end of story...as good an English rock band as any back in the day, and you all know the big'uns. RIP BRIAN and MICK...and LONG LIVE SWEET!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think his voice recovered nicely..Listen to him on Level headed. Steve had vocal parts throughout most of the bands history , taking lead on quite a few songs.

  • Fine performance, thanks for posting this!

SWEET were great, R.I.P. Brian Connolly & Mick Tucker.

  • At their peak nobody rocked harder and offended more people than the MIGHTY Sweet!! One of the best ever!!

  • I agree, they were the best ever!!

  • @RockbertoRocks top track..banned by the beeb...silly fools

  • PURE ROCKNROLL

  • aye is dis the eclipse add theme song

    in australia???

  • I always thought that this movement to a really raw edge was a nod towards what was going to happen with punk...this certainly kicks against the glam scene

  • Slade live was better!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Simpler, maybe.

  • Brilliant rock band - Sweet Fanny Adams and Desolation Boulevard are classics. Shame I never saw them - they cancelled the Newcastle gig in 74 and played in Sunderland a few months later but I missed it - apparently by all reports they were fucking ace and went down a storm - and the place they played was a well established hard rock venue.

    RIP Mick and Brian.

  • 2:40 always a delight.

  • quelle classe!

  • This is fuckin awesome, its not exactly

    Wig Wam Bam is it.

  • brian got beat up pretty bad the bastards thought that hey he was a rich rock star with way more than his share of women so why is he trying to take theres. brian was just being friendly beating up a defenceless man pricks i wish i had been there brian they would have thought twice.

  • And . ..

because Brian was beaten up - Sweet missed being support band for The Who, at The Charlton football stadium (London) - which could have meant they'd have gone on to be a really massive stadium band.

Who knows - we might have been talking about Sweet now - (with the same reverence shown to Led Zepplin) - if they HAD played with The Who.

    We'll never know.

    Damn good band, Sweet.

Thanks to the guys and gals who post their videos. . . they'll never be forgotten!

  • @4162661670 nice words. poor bri

  • Auf Bayern 3 lol!!!!

  • I actually bought a copy of this song, on 7in vinyl. Loved em. Haven't heard this in years.

  • brian sounds very bad.

they beat the living daylights out of him...

  • The bass sounds really good here!

  • The bass-man totally rocks my bone and marrow!

    Love you, Steve!

  • The attack of Brian makes me sick to my stomack. However, his great voice lives on!!

    RIP

  • Thats raw sound...nice one sweetie pie.

  • About the attack; it's told that Brian had stopped at a bar to buy cigarettes and that he started talking to and flirt a bit with some girls. Their boyfriends recognized him and got mad and attacked him out in the street, hitting and kicking him in the throat. They never got caught.

  • I just love Brain's raw voice here.

    Wow, what a tight band!

  • Wasn't this after the attack on Brian.,it seems it was..,you can hear the problems he is having singing. Thanks for posting.

  • I think it must have been after the attack on Brian. The probs he`s having with his voice are obvious and he`s wearing those huge sunglasses.

nevertheless, this is the best version i`ve ever heard from the song, and the clanky sound of Steves Rickenbacker just fits so well.

  • What attack are you referring too?

  • Brian was attacked outside of a Pub one night, dont know the details but his throat was severly damaged from it.

  • You could use that Rickenbacker sound to demolish buildings.

  • @TechMaven Amen to that, brother!

  • Absoultely fantastic band. they didnt wrote a single bad song. When i ask the other peoples in school i fthey know who Sweet are, nobody knows. too bad.

  • this song and all of the hits up to fox on the run were written by chapman and chinn.

  • absolutely fantastic band. They didnt wrote a single bad song:). when i ask other people in school if they know wich they are, nobody knows. too bad.

  • This performance is unbelievable!!! I love it! I love SWEET so much!!! They're my favorite classic rock/glam band, besides Aerosmith! (Yes, I know Aerosmith aren't glam!) I'm so glad I discovered these guys! This is real, raw, rock n' roll!! Just the way I like it! Rest in Peace, Brian and Mick!!!

  • This just sounds so rough & dirty, brilliant

  • dame well the best song

the cd is so cheap on amazon it 50 cents

  • Im thirteen and Sweet are one of my favourite bands, they rock and I love this song!

  • It still blow me away as it did in "74"

    Fantastic

  • The guys ROCK hard here. It's a joy to behold. But what strikes me as funny is how dead the audience is. I would have been jumping all round and shaking it hard. Wait...on second thought. No I wouldn't have. I would have been utterly mesmerized and stupefied, just like these kids.

  • Mal wieder eine Liveaufnahme Wie toll, obwohl man auch hier die Anstrengung in Brian`s Stimme hört. Der Überfall hat doch eine Menge verändert.Beate

  • Listen to that Rickenbacker!!

    Oeff..

  • Amazing!! Can really hear the bass.. gotta love htat steve!

  • Steve's Rickenbacker sounds like it's gonna rip a hole in time and space.

  • What a wonderful way to put it. Yes!!!

  • is this steve priest?!

  • The one and only.

  • INDEED - ...and totally awesome!!!!

    I love you, Steve!!

  • Good work Sweet. I love it..! ^^

  • It's good to see someone so young (checked your Profile)getting into some old timeless

    classics, good stuff..

  • Raw sound and live... sweet

  • HARD ROCK AT IS GLITTERY BEST
