Just picked up "History Of" at Goodwill for $1.50 (cd). Listening to it over and over. Didn't realize "Civilizaiton Dying" was the ZB's...have it on the the "Faster and Louder 2" comp, and it is the best song on it.

Zero Boys were considered to be part of the early hardcore scene but to me this could have been a song by The Dead Boys or any first wave punk band...doesn't have that blast beat speed and aggression that bands like Minor Threat or Bad Brains had.

If you see Paul today, he's still under fifty or just past that, but his hair is white. There's a few interview segments in American Hardcore with him and there's the reunion shows with Vess sitting in for Terry.

These guys were from Indiana. Another good 80s midwestern punk band was from the much much smaller town of Mattoon, IL and then Champaign, IL (University of Illinois location)...the nationally known The Didjits. Of which the singer later formed The Gaza Strippers.
