totally far out!!! i love the anarchic structure of these guys songs - the instrumentation - the beautiful child-like playfullness of the lyrics & music - impulsive but with a considered message......i could go on (& on & on....) great album & really good to hear this again!
ah but, does ainsleywainsley mean brilliant, these youngsters do tend to talk absolute bollocks these days don't they - you had to be there in 1967, what a shame you missed it..........................!!!
@judiemcconway omg man i know i am so jelous of anyone who was there, the ISB is just so different to all the crap that is produced these days, there is noone that even comes close to the ISB's creativity and brilliance, i have some recordings of them at woodstock and the guitar solo about 2mins into 'when you find out who you are' is awesome,
@ainsleywainsley - I have to agree ainsleywainsley - it was so magic to see them then, Rose and Licorice danced and whorled like sprites across the stage, whilst Mike and Robin played a whole stack of other instruments - you are the second person this week to talk about a time machine, I was offered a ride in another friends, and chose to go back to 1964, 5 and 7!!!! Glad to find someone with such good taste in music - "may the long time sun shine upon you all love surround you........."
@ainsleywainsley now that's not true, there is lots of good music today. You just have to look because it's not advertised today as it was then. Look up Sleepy Sun. Great band! very unheard of...
@ainsleywainsley yeah! if only! i'd go to woodstock, then skip a few years and see led zepp in '73, also ELP, then go back and meet robert johnson, and then go back to woodstock and hang out with The Who, Hendrix and ISB, then come back and enjoy the good modern music again
@ainsleywainsley no i couldn't find it online. the story appears in his book "stories of ordinary madness" which you might be able to get online used and cheap i'm sure.

@ainsleywainsley maybe you would enjoy charles bukowski's short story "nut ward just east of hollywood". it kind of meanders like this song.
