@ampRiser thanks ... as I was just e-mailing another guy.. I was forced to learn this stuff after getting ripped off by bad techs... there are many good ones but after a while I realized that if I could replace a pickup and read a book or two I could figure out the rest ...every amp service book you buy Is worth its weight in GOLD if you have a couple of nice old amps and are picky about tone
Hi Pat, awesome vids, I'm looking to get into amp repair (Hobby) In fact I'm looking at my first possible "victim" on ebay just now. How do you go about discharging the cap's?. :)
@NapalmBBQ Seriously I've bought so many vintage amps simply based on their completeness... although when you play them and they sound terrible it is to your advantage ... since the price drops with every crackle fart and bark of noise ... even the nice clean ones will be biased cold and have crappy repairs
@Finom1 good Idea ... you could put a 1.5 k resistor in line with the output jack & heat shrink it & thats easily removed if you want to sell the amp. If any of the tone caps were failing you could replace them with .02 value
Best repair vid ever... more proof a good guitar tech is also a guitar player with a good ear...

Would you mod the NFB Loop?
Would this mod add more growl or bite?

& that would make it sing more.
