  • Totally insane and brilliant. When I was a nipper in the seventies I couldn't wait for Jeux Sans Frontiers to come on every Friday night. And no video nor Sky so the family would all sit, watch and enjoy and have a right good laugh, especially with Stuart Hall - who is just something else!! It was also a great way to find out about different cultures - as a young lad I felt part of something bigger than just Britain. Should be brought back

  • HAHAHAHH kan het achterhaalt worden wie er toen meespeelden?

  • I SO want it back too, unfortunately the "health and safety" and "sue if I sneezed in tesco" brigade would make it imposible now. (: grrr

  • Stoners! ;)

  • BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT....don't you laugh that feeling when you are laughing so much you get cramps in your tummy.....such a great feeling......reminds me of me young years.....I've watched this so many times and it still makes me laugh...Stuart Hall still going strong...great football reports on Radio 5

  • I'm proud to be Dutch when I see this, haha ;) Hilarious!

  • Whenever you are down or depressed, or if you've had a bad day, watch this ( and the penguin event). It never fails to make me laugh!

  • I wish JSF would be back on our screen in Great Britain. Bring Back JSF!

  • @DavBlc7 I agree but Stuart Hall would have to do the commentary,he was what made the show so hilarious

  • The dutch team sucks balls

  • Fantastic, loved the mad costumes, the mad games and stuart hall.

Why oh why was it scrapped, just good old fun for all the family,no big prizes for greedy folk, just a sense of taking part, representing your country and having fun!!

All the things that are sadly lacking in todays society.

  • @ 0:14 No were not

  • Oh,this is brilliant. Takes me back to the days when you could watch this programme, and cry with laughter. And Stuart Hall was definitely the man for the job. Please bring it back, even if it's re-runs if the old series from the 60's and70's.Goodness knows we need a good laugh these days!

  • Fantastic clip from legendary show

  • Jeux Sans Frontieres....televisual proof that the past truly is a foreign country, and that they do things differently there....

  • Have to agree with you there. Friday nights are never the same without this legendary show. Who wants a certain song contest i.e Eurovision. This would be much better. Get all the judges from Eurovision and stick them into funny costumes and get them to play the game. Oh to see that.

  • STUART STUART STUART

  • I want Stuart Hall's laugh as a ringtone

  • 1982 seems so long ago, what great times, and how theyve changed

  • please upload some full episodes of this (74 to 82)....anyone!!! All i can find is clips !

  • Barring one of the sattelite channels showing reruns,i think clips are all we're gonna get!!I mean, when was the video recorder invented, about 82ish so its unlikely anyones gonna have the odd episode on an old VHS unfortunenately!!

  • Ok thanks Steveoqotsa ! , thats a real shame . I loved it so much when i was a kid . It is sadly missed !

  • You would think that one of the satellite channels would show reruns though,i mean its timeless comedy & im sure the Beeb wouldnt have taped over them, although knowing them....& apologies for my appalling spelling earlier

  • @Steveoqotsa Home VCRs were available from 1972.

  • @peg2003 Really???They were not exactly affordable for a few years though & probably took a good 10 years to work out how to programme the bugger!!!

  • @Steveoqotsa I remember seeing one of the first (consumer) VCRs when I was at school in the mid-1970s - about the size of a big slab of concrete! But I take your point about programming them! Love the video clip by the way. Thanks for the upload. :o)

  • @peg2003 Haha, yeah, the big old top loaders, those were the days.Did your school have a Pye tv on a stand with flaps??Still remember watching Picture Box & Words & Pictures sat on the floor....happy days!!!

  • This was awesome!!!

  • Brilliant!...

  • JSF was really a great show! I hope it comes back on the television soon, we really need more shows like this!

  • From what year is this show? If I'm right there hasnt been new shows since 1998...

  • Im not too sure but i would imagine its about 1982 ish??If they brought it back i dont think it would be as good as it was but i would give it a chance if Stuart Hall still done the commentary!!!

  • I think it could be earlier as the teams in1982 were Portugal, Italy, YUgoslavia,Belgium,Great Britain,Francde,CHecz.Republic

  • @jimthegallifrey Czech Republic in 1982? It was actually Czechoslovakia before wall fell down in 1989. so not likely the Czechs would be in that games before the 1990.

  • It might be from 1977. The Dutch(NL) were in JSF till 1979. From 1980 the teams were down to seven competing when it used to be 8.

  • I loved watching JSF Laughed my arse off!

  • Hahahahahha

  • Hahaha why did we Dutch always FAIL at this show?! ROFL

  • Your not so bad,did you see Doug from Britain in the Penguin game???He was hopeless!!!

  • indeed did we actually win this once?

  • nope never won.

  • ROTFL!!

  • stuart hall ..the legend! please dont watch the aussie version its shit..ie penguins!

  • they should do EU summits like this instead.. Brown, Sarkozy, Merkel etc. Song contest too. Much more fun! :)

  • Dutchies... best in the world!

  • Totally agreed.

  • It's a massacre! LOL

  • i used to love this as a kid

    the internationals especially

i nearly pissed myself laughing at this

  • No wonder people are throwing away their tv set's! What have we got today for entertainment? ~Big Brother or some other cost efficient 'reality' show.

Good to see television from when everyone would be belly laughiong. 5 stars.

  • Whoever found this clip (where did you find it?) - thank you! I used to watch It's a Knockout as a child just to hear Stuart Hall in hysterics - such an infectious laugh. Thirty years later it still has me crying with laughter. All we get on TV at 8pm these days is aggro in Eastenders or Holby!

  • The missus bought me the "Best of" video for xmas & i ripped it off that

  • His laugh makes me laugh....

Laughter is an infectuous emotion in life...

  • ahah chyeah definetly, he got me in tears

  • @redsfilmscom That was fantastic! Needed a bit of Stuart Halls laughter today. Just what I was after!!!
