  • telefon tel aviv really fucked up this awesome track

  • i love you but ive chosen darkness

  • <3 my f#cking life ;(

  • This very same tune was reworked by Sasha in his Involve2ver 2 album. Amazing. You will never guess it is the same song. But what's even apparent, it seems Apparat is a fav among the Djs. Many of his track were featured in Renaissance The Masters Series (Mixed By Dave Seaman). Check them out.

  • Just so everyone knows, this video is taken directly from the music video for The Owl by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.

  • Sorry for posting the same thing twice; a minor correction was needed.

  • Carl Jung. How about this-

Raven, the Unconscious Shadow, in its attempt to be free, to assist the conscious mind in invigoration with it's natural vitality. Owl, the ego constructed from the civilization built around us. The Window, civilization = repression of the Shadow mind, that harbors positive energies, if used correctly. We Believe Civilization and Intelligence is a maxim of humanity to be reached, when in fact it has repressed our need for Shadow (unconscious) energies to be freed.

  • Actually, owls do need a little light too to see things. Their eyes are just extremely sensitive, so they can see well when light is very scarce and everything else is effectively blind.

  • @L0VeSouLs je pense comme vous ...the symbol is powerfull ...the vidéo an artist painting ..

    ( excuses pour l'anglais !! )

  • I'll laugh if the guy who made the video just thought the raven and the owl looked cool....

  • @MrJFJW hahahahah so true!!!!! that'd be great.

  • yesterday in flex <3

  • excellent

  • Moody, powerful stuff. Heard this track first on Sasha's Invol2ver, and I am glad to be turned onto this great musician (band?). Looking to hear more!

  • Lyrics:

    What's the point of waiting

    For life to come

    I could go further

    And no one's surprised

Your plans collapse, run off or fall apart...

  • Nice break.

  • radiohead??

  • Which animal represents the majority of retarded utube uses who will find meaning in even the most trivial of all symbolism...Is it the dodo bird?

  • the owl represents boring people who sit on their arses all day doing nothing and the crow represents whiners who don't realise that crows are pretty damn smart (at least compared to owls!) and could just peck the rope away if they wanted to but oh no, they have to look all romantically pained and arty. lovely song but the video is cobblers.

  • i love it

  • boys noize!

  • ja dieses Lied ist das Gesetz

  • I heart psilocybin.

  • this song has blown my mind...i can't stop listening to it

  • крутой трек

  • I thought: The raven represents nature. The string/garbage is literal garbage. The owl is human kind which has enough wisdom to cut the string (not pollute) and save the raven (nature) but cannot see the problem, he hears it (on tv) but does nothing, content with living in the filth he created that doesn't currently harm him. The Ravens string is also tied to a feather-like thing making me think the owl did this to the raven I.E. the humans created this situation which is now killing animals.

  • boys noize mix is better

  • @derZyklusII -- yeah, telefon tel aviv made an amazing rmx as well :)

  • bellissima :)

  • Pleassse, upload with better audio.

And by the way "the owl" is a girl. :)

  • MODERAT, RATATAT, APPARAT, WTFAT

  • the owl is corporate America, keeping an eye on the little people represented by the crow, and sitting back doing nothing to help! The objects are distractions, and the light is what we strive to accomplish, but with no help from the ones who can, we are destined to keep trying and never succeed, because of greed!

  • awesome video and master piece track!

  • why would anyone dislike this?

  • amazing video!

  • <3 i love him

  • awesome video!

  • hmm wasnt this video from" i love you but ive chosen darkness?"

  • I LOVE SATANIC music like this... HAIL SATÃ \o/ #

    Kidding ;P (Apparat Ruler)

  • This is an old song. But I think these are one of the best melody, voice and sounds that I heard in the music today... I love this song for a few years and live with the same feelings in my heart almost every day...

  • awesome video

  • Best ever!

  • I think of Radiohead.

  • @TheDecadeMoon Agreed. And it's great :)

  • the raven is ignorance

the light is all he has to look at so he strives to get to it

the rope will make it so he can never get what he wants

the objects represent the useless clutter that comes with wanting things

the owl represents knowledge knowing that just because somethings there it doesn't mean it's for the better

he sees through all the clutter where the raven just gets caught up in it all trying to reach something he never can

the owl can see without it

the raven is a slave to the light

  • @charliepossenriede very good. i was going to say the owl was not "a prick" -- he just doesn't struggle against his limitations. he just calmly observes. ^__^

  • @charliepossenriede so well said :)

  • @charliepossenriede thanks for the description i was looking all over internet for the meaning of the video.. it makes sense!

  • @charliepossenriede Who of us is the owl? Who of us has the knowledge enough to see what everydody else can't? We all are slaves to the light. Call it freedom, life, love, it's the same, We, the ravens, can't never get free from our desires, and our passions.

  • @arturofuhrer Somebody used a double negative, which means the opposite of what you're trying to convey.

P.S. Not a troll, just a grammar Nazi who agrees with what you were trying to say.

  • @arturofuhrer On the contrary, we can be free of them, to an extent. Jung would say that a destruction of our most basic instincts, desire and destruction, is impossible. But, an acceptance of those faculties as our basic selves is to disarm the Shadow self. Thus disarmed, the natural energies the Shadow exumes can now be harnessed for whatever purpose we will it. In other words, the gift the hero returns to the wasteland with after his journey into the unconscious.

  • @arturofuhrer Thanks Dr. Phil! You changed my life.

  • Comment removed

  • @arturofuhrer feeling a penis in the dark, you have clearly never done it.

  • @charliepossenriede ..and the Lipstick?

  • @charliepossenriede

You're looking for some kind of didactic moral here and I don't think there is one. The raven is screwed and the owl is also, differently, screwed. You can be like either one, and either way, you're screwed.

  • @charliepossenriede or maybe you are a slave... since you see yourself as the raven...

  • @charliepossenriede ahh, that make sense too...

  • @charliepossenriede That's because owls come from Athena the goddess of wisdom.

  • @charliepossenriede I think the light is some kind of knowledge or truth that we all strive to get, and the rope is all useless stuff that binds us onto this world of useless things. But still a beautiful world.

  • Comment removed

  • @charliepossenriede Uhhh, I mean maybe? But this video was made for the "The Owl" by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness. And it's not a raven but a magpie.

  • MENDIGO BUO O LECHUZA NAMAS SE QUEDA MIRANDO, YO CREI QUE LE SOLTARIA,

  • 38 people just had their skull crack open with their brains fallen out

  • I thought this video was for a different song? If so, can someone tell me what it was...

  • @ginarangel32 it's "The owl" by "I love you but I've chose darkness".

  • @AndarielSixSixSeven Are you retarded the owl hasn't "chosen darkness" The owl loves the crow enough to not help him, he knows that some things you must do on your own.

  • @illstalkyoualot What kind of uneducated troll are you? I was answering someone who asked if this video was originally by some other performer, to which I replied "The owl" (song name) "I love you but I've chose darkness" (performer name). Look it up, it's the original video.

Wtf is wrong with you anyway? Thinking yourself clever by calling someone you don't know a retard without bothering to check what others are even talking about. <== The definition of retard.

  • fa cagare!

  • is this tom york singing or somthing?

  • @o0LanternLight0o its Sascha Ring = apparat ;)

  • Mirko Saltalamacchia - Marionet

  • Sasha, thank you for what you're doing.

    Apparat forever!

  • The music is amazing !!! my interpretation of this music video:

at the beginning it starts with the string vibrating... which seems like an instrument being played but in fact it's the crow that is moving (playing) the string (instrument/music) ... the crow is trying to reach light (freedom) but it's kept inside darkness by the owl which looks cruel (some governments). So the crow is playing music but can't reach freedom. it's a complain about lack of freedom through music.

  • one of the greatest!

  • The window is so similiar to the cover of Aenima of Tool

  • Where can I download this version? thank you guys..

  • @kosilubenov Are you serious? Whoever put this together needs a fucking medal. If only most people showed half as much creativity contained within this music and video the world would be a much better place. Credit where credit's due...

  • this is tremendous. nourishing great vibes

  • éste no e s el video de ésta canción

  • This video rips off 'The Owl' by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.

  • @iravan Glad someone other than myself realized this.

  • great great video animation!!!!

  • There is no real freedom, struggle for it is futile.

  • the owl is a chick that controls a guy and makes him feel like he's free and he thinks he's free with her love when actually shes evil and leads him on a string. she keeps controlling him and he never gets anywhere. Thats not love

  • the owl is a chick that controls a guy and makes him feel like he's free and he thinks he's free with her love when actually shes evil and leads him on a string.

  • Who does the vocals on this track?

  • They sound like Radio Head

  • 33 people are gingers

  • I think this video is about a raven who is tied by the leg to the floor, and despite attempting to escape from the room, is unable to. There is also an owl who is watching the raven.

Lets just enjoy the music, people.

  • BEATIFULL SONG EVER !!!!!! MUCH BETTER WITH GANJA!!!

  • sad :(

  • I think owls officially became creepy since "The Fourth Kind" came out

  • There are lots of interesting ideas, but I think people don't realize that in real life crows and owls, even barn owls, are natural enemies. If a crow perceives that an owl is hunting near it it will attack and vice versa. I think this video is giving a humanistic interpretation of the hatred owls and crows have for each other, and the owl has finally gained the upper hand

  • is this official video?

  • you silly guys =] the crow is just humans that runs all their life for material things, and the owl is the wise one that knows that's not the way or maybe sometime in the past he was like the crow.

  • This isnt even his owl video this is a video from I love you but I chosen darkness- The owl

I dont see him mention them anywhere

  • like this if you think the owl is a prick.

  • @vidalivan TO be honest... owl is a prick and not even trying.

What is better? To not try seeing no point... or die while trying?

It's a matter of subject, sometimes it is worth, sometime it is not.

  • Is this Thom York?!?!

  • my friend show me this video and for me it has a strong meaning...

  • video was trippy xD first timer :p , very meaningful thumbs up -.-

  • I'm sure I'm not the first one to point this out, but this isn't the original video.

for those of you that are looking for it, it's:

The Owl by I Love You but I've Chosen Darkness

  • this video is actually made for the song "the owl" by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness.

  • !!!FTW .NWOD EM PALS OT NOITISOP NI GNITTEG YLTFIWS DNA YLTNELIS GNIVOM SI ECAR KCALB ERITNE EHT ,DNA .EPAR A FFO GNITHGIF M'I EKIL LEEF I

  • Is this the official video for this song? If yes, then why they used the same video used by I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness? 0_0'

  • uuffffffffffffffff great sounds .... i like it a lot

  • This is so awesome, my soul got touched, from the clip and the music...

  • @7ali7 ; wow, best ever way to kill a senseless debate before it really got out of hand. Browny points for using the sheer power of uncomfortable truth.. I bow to you sir.

I LOVE the clip btw. love the diverse interpetations given to it too. And maybe that is the message: everyone trying to explain it away while the real joy is watching them do so.

  • @HomoCognitus Good point, maybe I should learn to have a sense of humour when it comes to people who do my head in, so to speak.

  • how about - the owl is the creator of raven.. Raven is being tested... Now, what makes all people think that the owl cares about our reasons and beliefs.. What if our conciousness is just a simple side effect of manufacturing process... Raven wants to be happy, does it really know what's in the light.. No, it does not. But only blind belief and hope can keep it's sanity...

  • Touches the bottom of my soul. Always! More than 1 year constantly listening. This song is the most strongest drug ever. ADORE!

  • ustedes firman y yo no entiendo nada! jaja y no voy a usar el traductor! pero buena onda q miran mucho el video!

  • @elbogodebalvanera

Boy shut that shit up and keep finding good videos.

  • Oh for fuck sakes people. Stop carrying on with your deep analytical shit about this video. This is a fucking beautiful song and an incredible video; just take it as it is. Sit there, fucking listen and let it affect you. That's how art should be. Each piece of art should be remembered by the first time you sat there and let it all wash over you and the emotions you felt as a consequence. Stop being so fucking analytical and cold.

  • OH FUCK ME

ALL YOU DREARY FUCKERS GOING ON ABOUT DEPRESSION AND TORMENT AND WHAT YOU THINK LIFE IS OR IS NOT AND WHAT YOU THINK THIS VIDEO IS OR IS NOT

CHEER THE FUCK UP! DON'T BE SO FUCKING SELFISH. THERE ARE PEOPLE WITH ACTUAL PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD. DEPRESSION IS FOR WEAK SELFISH LITTLE CUNTS WHO ARE REALLY, REALLY MISSING THE POINT AND APPARENTLY SOMEHOW ARE CONVINCED THEY REALLY, REALLY GET IT.

    WELL FUCK YOU

Great song though, and an interesting video.

  • @7ali7 depression is for weak cunts? lol....

dont compare mental problems with physical and financial problems which you did.

    not the same

    both very devestating

    stfu

  • @profittlich Why shouldn't I compare CERTAIN mental problems to other issues people have in their day to day lives? There is most definitely a comparison to be made, and so-called psychological disorders such as depression pale in comparison with most problems that most people don't make the slightest bit of fuss over.

So yeah, it is for weak cunts. Self-centered, attention-seeking, pathetically weak cunts.

  • @7ali7 How can you say depression is for the weak when it's a psychological disorder that has been shown to be a result of VARIOUS physiological issues? For example, the Hippocampus (a PHYSICAL part of the brain) is usually smaller in people with depression. It has nothing to do with the amount of STRENGTH you have. People with depression can't necessarily "snap out of it". You're pretty much doing the same thing as calling people with mental retardation "dumb". You're absolutely ridiculous

  • @Zeewei Clinical depression has yet to be conclusively linked to ANY physiological disorder or trait. Get your facts straight before you make your point. Several studies have attempted to link various patterns of cerebral activity and as you said even things such as length of hippocampus to depressive/ anxiety disorders but none of them have been fully approved of by the wider medical community.

Sorry to say it but... "mental retardation"!?!? What world are you living in, really?

  • @7ali7 that's where you're wrong. It is generally considered a real illness by most people in the medical community, although not EVERY SINGLE PERSON is going to believe it. I think you should get your facts straight. And even if it wasn't, who are you to say that people who suffer from it are "weak" or "self-centered cunts"? That's a little bit arrogant, isn't it? And I don't see your point with the mental retardation. You're still ridiculous, and have no idea what you're talking about.

  • @Zeewei What's arrogant about it? How do you know I'm not including myself in this? See, I feel so strongly about it because at one point in my life I was what my GP diagnosed as "clinically depressed." He couldn't tell me why, all he could do was offer certain therapies and medicines as a remedy. Now, looking back I know that all I needed was a kick up the arse, which I got when I was diagnosed with leukaemia. It took cancer to make me realise what REAL illness means.... to be continued, sorry.

  • @Zeewei I "snapped out of it" after years of feeling as if my life couldn't possibly be worse- reveling in my depression, using it as an excuse to be a complete waste of space; all the while ignoring the truth of how fucking lucky I was to have my health, to have at least a chance at living a good life. It's the same story with a few people I know- something REAL has come along and forced them to see how pathetic they've been, and none of them have ever looked back, and are better people for it.

  • @Zeewei Anyway, to argue my point again- the medical community (by which I actually mean Doctors) is forced to accept depression as a real medical condition because it has to. In diagnosis there are type one and type two errors. Type two dictates that a patient is "over-diagnosed" and is, as far as the GMC here in the UK is concerned, by far the lesser of two evils, and therefore the choice that has to be made.

As for "mental retardation" it's the wording that I find funny. It's so... wrong.

  • @7ali7 if you were in that situation, then shouldn't you understand what it was like? I'm sure if someone went up to you and called you a weak self-centered cunt while you had "clinical depression" (even if you were diagnosed correctly or not, or whether or not it's even a real illness, according to your argument) you probably wouldn't have been too happy about that. Which is why i don't think that saying that is going to help anyone.

  • @Zeewei That's my point. I do understand what it was like. I understand how pathetic I was for allowing myself to be so selfish and so weak. You're absolutely right- I do understand. And therein lies my whole point.

If someone had told me so at the time I wouldn't have taken any notice, I was so wrapped up in how supposedly shit my life was and how much I hated myself and so on. Looking back, I'd totally agree with anyone who says to me now "you were a cunt." I was.
