Someone told me the HTC machines are flawed because they'll start *lagging* during normal day operations once you start installing quite a bit of applications on the machine. HTC has major noticeable lagging issues with previous models, not sure if the problem has been fixed in this new model.

I owned a sensation and a galaxy s. The galaxy s does have higher saturation but it still has a lower pixel count which means text or images wont appear as sharp as the senstaion. Also the build of the galaxy s feels very cheap flimsy whereas the htc sensation feels like a very sturdy phone.
As much as Samsung wins for having things like good benchmarks and "better" (I dont prefer it) screens, I definitely prefer HTC's overlay of Android, which is definitely the most important. I find it much more functional.
@cjswnsdl ahaha ... youre just jealous because you didnt buy an htc sensation ... i hate this plastic corea crap and sgs2 feels like an 100€ phone ...
i rather have gs2. Both are fast and responisive i wont deny that. Its just that the sensation has a short battery and an lcd screen. superalmod>>>>>>LCD by far. I hate the greyish tone in an lcd screen. 1650(gs2)>1520mah(sensation). Also, i will buy a case anyways so really the plastic won't bother me much.
If you love HTC, check this video out (might not be viewable in some countries thanks to Youtube policies) - youtube. com/watch?v=AEqyOqEZmis (remove space before dot com) or Youtube for Mobbing Pavilion
ok I just got the GS2, and something thing is bothering me. The HOME button. if I press it it should take me HOME, if I press it twice shouldn't show ALL the layouts (all 7 of em)? Well mine did that ONCE and now it doesn't.
I know if I hold the HOME button it should show recent task, and it does that. But double press doesn't work. Help? Should I take it back?
I went ahead an bought a desire s instead. 4.3 " is just to big for me. (That's what she said, I know lol) while 3.7 is just perfect. I would really love to have a desire s with a dual-core though.
What else can I say, so proud of sensation 4g, htc makes phones and tablet not fridges, tv, washer, iron, and so on. They are just on point with sensation
@Ludijahja One, more exclamation points don't win an argument of personal opinion. Two, it's ugly as fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <See? Too sharp.

@MrStifstof haha, i can show you a lot websites witch compare the phones and every time the gs2 wins. gs2 have a better gpu an a newer cpu(cortex a9/ htc just cortex a8). If you dont belive try to google it or leave a message and i show you the sites i mean
Looks like Samsungs display is way better than the HTC. I currently have an iphone and don't upgrade my phones often. But for my next phone I would like a slimmer version of a Galaxy S2 with good battery life. My only complaint about most smart phones is that they tend to be too bulky for my liking.
samsung rules! HTC would never beat the s2( even in 1000years). Samsung got better cpu and much faster gpu and the best smartphone displays in the moment. HTC sucks
I have the htc sensation .I will buy the samsung galaxy s2 white .the amoled screen Is easy to read for my old eyes .and the htc is to my wife now .maybe I will keep the two phone for me ? Hmmmm
Both great phones. I have the sensation, but the GS2 is an excellent device. Thought I must say the interface on the HTC far surpasses the touchwiz in the GS2
I like the sgs2's screen better, because black is on the super amoled plus screen really intense black, and on the HTC it's like dark grey or something
Im really getting annoyed with this pointless "this phone is 0.22222222mm smaller yadda yadda" bollox, that really has no bearing on phone performance and or also personal taste, well not to rant on about.
@groendjango is may be bigger but in my opinion its not better because I wanted to use it as a phone but also replace my iPod so for me it was a better choice :P
Yeah, but that's not a hardware limitation. If you move to a custom ROM/kernel and overclock to 1.5 (which is actually what the processor manufacturer recommended to HTC), you will not see any difference whatsoever in the 2 phones performance-wise. Both exceed the specs for any application currently on the market.
@DroidKickz Because the S2 doesn't come from the factory with faulty Wifi software. You can't fix something that's not broken to improve speed. Yeah, you can overclock the S2, but you'd exceed manufacturer specs and decrease device life. It doesn't matter if you theoretically overclock these phones to 10ghz and add 20 cores, neither lags when functioning properly. I guess you could run around showing all the chicks your benchmark. Let me know how that goes and I might go buy one.
The Galaxy S2 is better: Faster processor (Exynos) Better Camera Samsung don't bring out a new flagship every other month Better display Super-light Bigger online development community Amazingly light (good thing) Still widely regarded as the best phone Better quality microphones (for calls) Better battery life Extra storage But if you're willing to spend a bit more or wait longer there's a whole load of 2012 beasts coming out soon...
Step 3: Type the code "AF198974" when it asks you for a code.
Step 4: After having an account balance of 75 cents or more(only by installing 3 free apps and playing them), the rewards screen will become available and press Claim $10 iTunes card.
Note: This only works once for each iTunes account and is only valid until 2/7/12. Also the rewards screen is locked until you install 3 apps.
Quadrant always cracks me up. Ever notice the "faster" phone always takes longer to finish the test? Real-world speed test. Open a game and play it. See any difference? Ok, now go buy the HTC.
@twistedcross oh cmon. u have to admit that games like Shadowgun or Eternal legacy ARE running MUCH better than on sensation. I have both phones and yeah on HTC those simply slow down in some moments.
@q8sauod I had the same choice and bought sensation. Galaxy s2 is no match for htc sensation, I have held both the phones and I feel proud of my decision.
i'm confused. i'm getting a Galaxy S II at first.. but then i found out about HTC Sensation which i think might be better... but still, there are people saying that HTC is crap. so can anyone help me with this?? which one is better? which one should i get??
@master22788 i had Sensation for 5 days.so far,i'm satisfied.my only problem is the battery life.i need to charge the phone every night. but i guess all smart phones are like that. and that's also because i'm over excited about having a new phone (can't resist the urge to use the phone). when i first got the phone,i downloaded drums app. but the respond is bad.i blamed the phone.but then i downloaded another drums app and it works fine.guess the phone is all right. ok, now go buy the HTC ^_^
@AmaninaRohizad84 get the HTC Sensation, and get the XE model if you can. There are so many custom roms out there for this handset, the sound quality is amazing, the camera is really good, and it has a better screen resolution...
@AmaninaRohizad84 The Galaxy S2 is better: Faster processor (Exynos) Better Camera Samsung don't bring out a new flagship every other month Better display Super-light Bigger online development community Amazingly light (good thing) Still widely regarded as the best phone Better quality microphones (for calls) Better battery life Extra storage But if you're willing to spend a bit more or wait longer there's a whole load of 2012 beasts coming out soon...
@DroidKickz Quite wrong, mate..... Equal processors, the Sensation has the same camera, but 2 LED flashes instead of 1 on the GS2. The speed of apps is the same, and on both phones there is pretty much no lag at all. The call quality on the Sensation is a lot better, and sometimes, when you're talking with a GS2 owner on the phone, the GS2's microphone catches its speaker, and the person on the other side hears his own voice. Not to mention the Sense UI pwning TouchWiz, and so on...
@AirborneB6 SGSII on this video is first version of SGSII so its not equal processor. it has 1.2ghz exynos 4410 which is better than 1.5ghz snapdragon S3.
echo problem can be easily fixed by turning off noise reduction on first version.
anyway SGS2 has more memory (1gb vs 768mb) more storage (16/32gb vs 1gb), better cpu (exynos>snapdragon), gpu(mali440>adreno220), memory(1gb dual channel > 768mb single channel), better display (Samoled plus > s-lcd)
@jamisont1 The Sensation has normal noise reduction, the GS2 has not (at least not a good one). Also, the interface. Compared to the 3D graphics, the qHD resolution, the awesome HTC Sense interface and everything HTC has improved with their phones, the GS2 with its 2D, non-optimized TouchWiz interface and the lower-resolution display, the GS2 loses this category. Build quality:Sensation-nice metal back, which fully protects the display with the curves. GS2: Cheapish plastic.Nuff said
@AirborneB6 u need noise reduction for google talk, otherwise it doesnt work that well. so all recent smartphones in 2011 with google talk has noise reduction.
about UI. if u ask my opinion, they both sux but touchwiz is easier to get rid of, and sense is more intergrated in the OS and it causes more lag.
about display, samsung provide display for both device. samoled and s-lcd. dont even try to claim s-lcd is better. but if higher resolution is important to you, there's SGS2 HD LTE version.
@jamisont1 Why would you get rid of an OS, around which the whole phone was built, and which is the most optimised for the phone? :) I have both phones (I have the Sensation, my dad has the GS2) for comparison, and I chose HTC for a reason. I admit, the GS2 is a bit smoother, but doesn't have the Sense interface, which... makes sense :D Despite the a little bit worse specs, the Sensation has absolutely the same app launch speed and everything. And as I said, I can compare them IRL...
@DroidKickz The galaxy s2, the sensation and the iPhone 4S are all built on the Cortex A9. HTC just has different versions of the sensation not different flagships (there are at least 3 versions of the sgs 2). Battery life is very debatable, to the point of what colour your status bar is and the camera is the same. Long story short, you're an idiot. (I sport a Samsung phone before you call me a fanboy)
Exynos is superior to Snapdragon/Qualcomm, the GS2 variations are only in America; I live in the UK so that doesn't count for me, battery life IS better on the GS2 unless you get your own bigger battery, camera has the same specs but the GS2 has more realistic colours and a smoother recording and the best part of Android is the development community, in my opinion, and the GS2 happens to have the biggest one in the world. :)
@AmaninaRohizad84 The galaxy S2 is for reall hard work, It combines top specs all together . I already have it and my brother have the Sensation, We both use the phone 24h, My battery always last longer and he is jealous. The best part of the HtC that I like is the Fancy user interface with some 3D effects. The S2 is way better in community, new roms, and all stuff for supporting the phone is available easily.
My opinion go for the S2 if u love a powerful smartphone, if u care of the look=> HTC
@fakedithaha to be honest, both of them has Great applications but heavy games that need much memory works with no lag on the S2 because of its bigger RAM (Few games need this big memory) .
Other than that: Specs say that HTC's screen has a better resolution but in reality the S2 is better, I searched to know why and I found out that the Super amoled plus technology of the S2 cuts of every pixel into 17 mini pixel and treats them separately.
@AmaninaRohizad84 Man believe me I have been through this and purchased sensation and I feel proud of my decision. HTC is the specialist company for mobiles and tablets. They do not build laptops, washing machines, TV , fridge etc. Their design and UI are far better than Samsung. So their is absolutely no choice. If u can afford go for Sensation XE.
@minvydasx You are crazy?, the Sensation camera is pure crap, audio not bad but still doesnt good, the materials design and interface beat SG2 but nothing more.
WTF is with people saying "dropping sgs2 wont break it,cuz its plastic". Its fucking cheap looking is what it is,and the only reason why i would Never buy it.Even the xperia arc has better quality plastic than this cheapo.
Well I have my Samsung Galaxy S and boy I bet on the Galaxy SII, that phone is 4 times better than the S version haha, and even thinner.
Also, its extremely resistant to impact, it may look plasticky and poor outfit but that makes him a very hard phone to be scratched or cracked more than the HTC,Iphone,Motorola's ones.
Althought Motorola has the powerful handheld devices out there, they are always the most expensive ones, and low compatibility.
I know that HTC build quality is premium. Before the galaxy s2, i had HTC HD2. That phone pisses of me so much, I had thrown that piece of s down to the floor like 10 times. It just wouldn't die on me. (BTW tried once on the iPhone 3GS, the screen cracked instantly (Sad..) ) And the motherboard finally failed and gave myself an excuse to buy Galaxy S2 LOL
For one thing I don't like about the phone (im sure it goes for all android phones) is the battery life. the iPhone is still superior on that part. I guess it takes a lot of processing power to run Android OS than iOS. Hope there are improvements on the ICS Version. The plastic feel of the Samsung is not bad, but I dont know if it'll survive a few hard drops.
@dealstobid trust me, the plastic they use is pretty flexible so dropping it isnt really a problem, comparing is with something like the iphone 4s for example, glass doesnt flex at all so any impact will always cause some form of damage and dropping it will destroy that glass instantly.
Man. I just love reading the comments over here. Makes me laugh LOL. Anyways I would side to the Samsung Galaxy S2 and am using it right now (but the T-Mobile version :-( ) The speed of the Galaxy would be faster than the Sensation and the screen is of course superior. The get a deep black and vivid colors, great great porn lol jk. User interface .. err on both... I would just install some other launcher on the market for free. To be continued...
hey guys today i was thinking about Sensation? totally whats your Idea? is someone give me clear reason to buy it?

Quadrant always cracks me up. Ever notice the "faster" phone always takes longer to finish the test? Real-world speed test. Open a game and play it. See any difference? Ok, now go buy the HTC.
twistedcross 1 month ago 26
@twistedcross absolutely agree. I noticed that too. The Sensation finished it quite a bit quicker. I don't know why it has lower score??

@twistedcross great comment! very well put :)

@twistedcross oh cmon. u have to admit that games like Shadowgun or Eternal legacy ARE running MUCH better than on sensation. I have both phones and yeah on HTC those simply slow down in some moments.

@twistedcross NO, I prefer S2 :) Both are good phones.
Powerex199999 1 month ago
@twistedcross I actually had the chance to either buy a Samsung Galaxy SII or an HTC Sensation.
But thankfully i am a very wise smart man, so it's natural for me to get the HTC Sensation OVER the Samsung Galaxy SII.
Damn i'm awesome.

AmaninaRohizad84 1 month ago
@AmaninaRohizad84 Personally I like samsung's UI better, butthe Sensation is as good phone as the S2. It is your choice.

@groberti i've decided. just ordered my Sensation with beats audio. S2 seems quite fragile for me. =)

master22788 1 month ago
@master22788 i had Sensation for 5 days.so far,i'm satisfied.my only problem is the battery life.i need to charge the phone every night. but i guess all smart phones are like that. and that's also because i'm over excited about having a new phone (can't resist the urge to use the phone). when i first got the phone,i downloaded drums app. but the respond is bad.i blamed the phone.but then i downloaded another drums app and it works fine.guess the phone is all right. ok, now go buy the HTC ^_^
AmaninaRohizad84 1 month ago
@AmaninaRohizad84 get the HTC Sensation, and get the XE model if you can. There are so many custom roms out there for this handset, the sound quality is amazing, the camera is really good, and it has a better screen resolution...

DroidKickz 1 month ago 23
@DroidKickz Quite wrong, mate..... Equal processors, the Sensation has the same camera, but 2 LED flashes instead of 1 on the GS2. The speed of apps is the same, and on both phones there is pretty much no lag at all. The call quality on the Sensation is a lot better, and sometimes, when you're talking with a GS2 owner on the phone, the GS2's microphone catches its speaker, and the person on the other side hears his own voice. Not to mention the Sense UI pwning TouchWiz, and so on...
AirborneB6 1 month ago
@AirborneB6 SGSII on this video is first version of SGSII so its not equal processor. it has 1.2ghz exynos 4410 which is better than 1.5ghz snapdragon S3.
echo problem can be easily fixed by turning off noise reduction on first version.
anyway SGS2 has more memory (1gb vs 768mb) more storage (16/32gb vs 1gb), better cpu (exynos>snapdragon), gpu(mali440>adreno220), memory(1gb dual channel > 768mb single channel), better display (Samoled plus > s-lcd)
jamisont1 1 month ago
@jamisont1 Well said mate, I was gonna say that but it turned out you beat me to it!
DroidKickz 4 weeks ago
@jamisont1 The Sensation has normal noise reduction, the GS2 has not (at least not a good one). Also, the interface. Compared to the 3D graphics, the qHD resolution, the awesome HTC Sense interface and everything HTC has improved with their phones, the GS2 with its 2D, non-optimized TouchWiz interface and the lower-resolution display, the GS2 loses this category. Build quality:Sensation-nice metal back, which fully protects the display with the curves. GS2: Cheapish plastic.Nuff said
AirborneB6 3 weeks ago
@AirborneB6 u need noise reduction for google talk, otherwise it doesnt work that well. so all recent smartphones in 2011 with google talk has noise reduction.
about UI. if u ask my opinion, they both sux but touchwiz is easier to get rid of, and sense is more intergrated in the OS and it causes more lag.
about display, samsung provide display for both device. samoled and s-lcd. dont even try to claim s-lcd is better. but if higher resolution is important to you, there's SGS2 HD LTE version.
jamisont1 3 weeks ago
@jamisont1 Why would you get rid of an OS, around which the whole phone was built, and which is the most optimised for the phone? :) I have both phones (I have the Sensation, my dad has the GS2) for comparison, and I chose HTC for a reason. I admit, the GS2 is a bit smoother, but doesn't have the Sense interface, which... makes sense :D Despite the a little bit worse specs, the Sensation has absolutely the same app launch speed and everything. And as I said, I can compare them IRL...
AirborneB6 3 weeks ago
@DroidKickz The galaxy s2, the sensation and the iPhone 4S are all built on the Cortex A9. HTC just has different versions of the sensation not different flagships (there are at least 3 versions of the sgs 2). Battery life is very debatable, to the point of what colour your status bar is and the camera is the same. Long story short, you're an idiot. (I sport a Samsung phone before you call me a fanboy)
asillynoob 4 weeks ago
@asillynoob I appreciate your opinion but:
Exynos is superior to Snapdragon/Qualcomm, the GS2 variations are only in America; I live in the UK so that doesn't count for me, battery life IS better on the GS2 unless you get your own bigger battery, camera has the same specs but the GS2 has more realistic colours and a smoother recording and the best part of Android is the development community, in my opinion, and the GS2 happens to have the biggest one in the world. :)
DroidKickz 4 weeks ago
@DroidKickz Not all the gs II has exynos processors but i do agree with most of what you saying

My opinion go for the S2 if u love a powerful smartphone, if u care of the look=> HTC
skate211thrasher 1 month ago
@skate211thrasher what about games and apps?
fakedithaha 1 month ago
@fakedithaha to be honest, both of them has Great applications but heavy games that need much memory works with no lag on the S2 because of its bigger RAM (Few games need this big memory) .
Other than that: Specs say that HTC's screen has a better resolution but in reality the S2 is better, I searched to know why and I found out that the Super amoled plus technology of the S2 cuts of every pixel into 17 mini pixel and treats them separately.
skate211thrasher 1 month ago
@skate211thrasher thanks for your comment, you rock! :)

I have " Samsung Galaxy S II " and I think this is the best mobile phone !!!
Only thing that I don't like is battery life !!!
But as I heard tis is the main problem of all modern mobile phones !!!
hampti002 1 month ago
Well I have my Samsung Galaxy S and boy I bet on the Galaxy SII, that phone is 4 times better than the S version haha, and even thinner.
Also, its extremely resistant to impact, it may look plasticky and poor outfit but that makes him a very hard phone to be scratched or cracked more than the HTC,Iphone,Motorola's ones.
Althought Motorola has the powerful handheld devices out there, they are always the most expensive ones, and low compatibility.
So Overalls, Galaxy S II Beats everyone.

continuing pt 3..
END...
dealstobid 1 month ago
continuing..
To be continued...
dealstobid 1 month ago
@dealstobid trust me, the plastic they use is pretty flexible so dropping it isnt really a problem, comparing is with something like the iphone 4s for example, glass doesnt flex at all so any impact will always cause some form of damage and dropping it will destroy that glass instantly.
Reaves1994 1 month ago
@Reaves1994 it's still plastic.

@k1ngrocc Well if you would prefer an all steel casing and would also enjoy a 500gram phone then i guess you better wait for the iphone 10

The main reason you'd want the Sensation over Galaxy S2 is the SCREEN.
LCD is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar superior in quality over AMOLED.
4JRimmer 1 month ago
@4JRimmer What? Are you 100% dumb? The S2's S-AMOLED+ beats the shit out of the S-LCD of the Sensation. S2's screen is far, far superior
Finchowned 1 month ago
@Finchowned i think ur more dumb. S-AMOLED is not battery saving. s2 batterylife is lesser than sensation's.
