Have you ever noticed a higher RAM consumption ? It was fine for most of the game but final part on airfield was really bad. I had to restart game every ten minutes or so. Same thing was happening in Crysis on that aircraft carrier - not even two minutes were needed to drain 2,6Gb of RAM and making my PC totally frozen for 5 minutes or so.

@e1gr well, how much RAm do you have in your computer?? i have 4gb and never noticed a problem caused by RAM, you could try to disable programs to free up some ram

i had this same problem bout 7 months ago and out all the things i tried, the one that worked was overclocking my cpu from 2.6GHz to 3.2GHz since this is the minimum clock for cryisis on windows vista/7. so i hope this helped.

the hd 4870 was supposed to be the competition for the gtx 260, and i have a cousin with that card and a core i5 and the game runs smooth on gamer and on enthusiast has just some moments with lag, at what resolution are u playing? are u using AA?

@mennogamer559 at what settings and resolution?? also crysis just uses 2 cores if im not wrong, so try overclocking it. I saw a good amount extra frame per second when i overclocked my core 2 duo

@mennogamer559 for sure, my core 2 duo was a bottleneck for my hd 5850, thats why i made the upgrade haha.

but the 8500 for a hd 6970 is even a greater bottleneck. the core 2 duos combined better with the gtx 200 series, and the hd 4000 series, while the new series cards go better with phenom ii x4 and up and i5 and up, always talking about high end

@mennogamer559 well i can play startcraft 2 maxed out, dragon age 2 maxed out, bad company 2 maxed out, shogun 2 total war maxed out. Framerates stay very playable the 80-90 percent of the time, im waiting for my new phenom ii x6 system to come to do more vids, the only game i could not play well with this cpu was crysis 2

@jonassx100 i dont feel any bottleneck, i can max out mafia 2 and it recommends a quad core, its the only game i tried that recommends a quad and i run with a dual. Metro recommends a quad too and i have the same fps as the benchmarks in internet.

@thePCgamingZone Thx man, with this PSU you could run two of em in crossfire, and just to give u an idea, i ran a 9800 gt with a 250w psu and it reccomended a 500w haha
