WoW lag from ISP's packet loss

Rogers in Canada drops packets with wow... there is a pending lawsuit against them for this. Because wow updates via Bittorrent style rogers cripples your conenction resulting in dropped packets and horrible game play for any MMO or game that uses torrents to update their games. Rogers sucks..I would go with a smaller company. Rogers is too vile a company. Numerous lawsuits for anti-competitive behaviour in the cell phone and internet markets. Just ask NetFlix how they are doing in Canada:(

check your wall jacks they could be wired wrong or not correctly and that could stop alot of packets from going

Problem just started for me... I had fine connection and know my World MS goes through the roof! My brother plays fine and I have a newer PC and I'm sat NEXT to the router... What did you do to sort it out? Any help would be great... Went to Blizzard and they were no help ¬.¬

this has started happening to me now since the Tol Barad hotfix. Haven't been able to do a heroic or raid in days. Just grinding rep dailies like a tool.

Don't wanna fix the problem keep trying to blame all the other ISPS, oor its your machine etc. lag/dc only came after patch 3.2.2 for me. Reality check rofl, whats common to all ISP is lag dc.

Sadly true this is the reason I gave up wow, thank God, finally broke the addiction, waste of time :), constant lag jumps from 84 ms to 16000ms, dc 5 times in one toc25, miss achievement heroic and lost the loot. Bad when you dps worse when you healer, wipe when you main tank...cheer ppl who make wow (cannot say who:p)

hmm. I'm currently having the same problem (it happens only on evenings, i dont have any probs neither in day or night). It happense 1 times in 10-20 mins (sometimess less, sometimes more, sometimes i get 3 dcs in 5 mins). same thing - only WoW affected, i can play CS, other MMO or something and it will go fine, but WoW. Sucks really... btw loading screens might get shorter if you disable your addons :P

nope, still suffering from it. funny is that it usually occurs only when playing WoW. It does happens when simply browsing web (or simply doing nothing) but really you can count these times on 1 hand's fingers.

I have a similar thing happening. My screen freezes then everything happens at once, sometimes d/cing me but not often. My ISP refused to do anything about unless my internet connetion d/cs 5 times minimum per day. Any ideas?

I can stream movies, ventrilo, download torrents and chant on Ventrilo concurrently.

Drop one packet in WoW and it seems they give you the finger. "FU I've got thousands of other more important people to service" then the client finally figures out there's no response 2 mins later then DCs you.

Other users from my ISP also had the problem and through communicating on the forums and posting out tracerts, we pinpointed the problem server from my ISP.

They fixed it when we made a fuss =)

my pc is newer than he's and everything is up to date

it was on the news this week that BT (who i am with) deliberately suppresses your internet when your on youtube,with a 8mb connection u r lucky to get 10kbs while on the site.maybe its a similar thing with yours when ur connected to wow .greedy bastard isp's

I think it's because BT are lasy bastards and won't hurry up with changing the crappy IDSN lines that form a lot of the county's network infrastructure... yes, I have to use BT too...

For everyone suggesting solutions it's not a end-user problem. It is a problem with Blizzard's ISP and servers and some people are having issues with packet loss. There's a 57 page, 1130+ post thread going on right now in the WoW Tech Support forum called "Latency Issues...". This includes me with the issues. I never have below 200+ms with comcast. I have been playing WoW since beta with the same internet and router and never have had this problem until recently.

Do the standard things.

Determine where the problem lies (You, Blizzard, your ISP,) find out why it's happening (ask on ISP/WoW forums for help, give details) and go from there.

solution 1 - you do tracerts / mtr measures every day and send them to your ISP tech support + complain everytime until they decide to do something about it

solution 2 - change ISP

solution 3 - quit WoW

I just got WOW and my computer won't run in right. I turned everything down to the lowest in video but my guys all look like there made of crystals or little triangles and it's lag like I've never seen in a game. No lie, Every second takes about a minuet. any help?

I got the same problem :[ i dont have lagg spikes though but i have above 200ms at all times and also my modem restarts 10 times a day.

for those talking about FPS...that is not lag...thats your computer... what this video is showing is lag from packetloss...if ur computer has an FPS drop its called chugging...so if you want help you gotta keep your terms right...if your lagging...its MS...if your chugging...its FPS

CT Mod for most of the bars, even the big black bar at the bottom. Xperl for the unitframes. Trinket Menu. Damage Meters. Titan Panel.

Hey, I've just started to get this crap recently, and annoyingly i've just joined my first Bt/Hjy guild and I don't wanna let them down. it kicks in about 6 or 7 uk time and carries through till about midnight - the worst time for me. Did anyone get any sucess through complaining to ISPs? and is there anything at all i can do to stop this myself?

I'm having the same damn problem. I called my ISP, and they had the truck guy come check it out. I think he just wanted to bail out because he came like 45 mins earlier. He just checked my modem, said it was perfectly fine and left. He also said it must be a problem with my computer, which I think is bs. Now I'm trying to contact blizzard, but they haven't replied, and it's been 2 days already. Whatever. I cant raid, can't do arenas, can't do shit.

Neither. It was a problem with my ISP's servers. I don't know what they did to fix it, but it was their problem to fix.

STFU im at red latency 24/7 and I download at 3Kb its fucking worst than dial up. Watching these videos is a pain in the ass never can I watch the streaming.
