I actually miss the days where the athletes ran fast in the heats. I remember flojo running 10.8, 10.7 and 10.6 in the seoul olympics. Or Privalova and Devers each running under 11.00 at these games. But I get why they don't do that anymore.
I don't know why Ottey used all of her energy to run this fast time in a quater final, only to run such a slow time in the final to get a bronze medal!
@Aarontlondon yeah, as someone said already, they knew nothing of running to qualify :) Torrence and Cuthbert in semi-final 21.72 and 21.75 respectively...
wow Merlene ran a fast quarterfinals 21.94 into a -0.9/mps headwind ... had she ran that in the finals she would have gotten the silver medal... any she is a legend for her longevity and her accolades...

That is one thing I've always hated about track. all this heats. Its takes a lot to regroup each time.
