I watched it on radar AND the Game on TV. In Rolling Meadows. Looking south, the lightning was the most intense I ever saw and I'm 52 now. Most these vids don't show how viscous the winds were. It looked like a damn hurricane. I actually went to the cellar with my Police Scanner and found they had pad locked it to keep bums out and kids from playing in there and stealing peoples storage for the apt complex. Oh well. What a night.
I live 90 Miles from Chicago. I was in that storm before, When it struck, I was at a Gamestop. While I was At Taco Bell I lightning struck the parking lot
I used to live in Mt Carroll, 120 Miles directly west of Chicago. Family still lives there. Dad called, said sky was green for miles around when it rolled over.
WOW!! i live in princeton illinois just 3 hours from chicago and i dont really remember having a storm that day but ya.... luckly nobody got hurt. and i like the way the siren is it sounds funny lol.. but what was with the firetrucks?
This is the best video I've seen of the action at Wrigley that night.
I thought they called the game then and there - it had to be close to midnight when they let people back in the park; why did they bother with that the way the lightning was that night? I agree with ButterBarre there.
No way in hell or high water is the game delayed that long through all that mess if the Cubs are winning instead of the Astros. What absolute BS and stupidity.
i was here. you have the best video of the storm, by far. mine and my boyfriends family decided to leave after it started raining and as soon as we got outside, the sirons went off. we ran into the firehouse and stayed in the basement of it. this is a night ill definitely never forget!
You are at 15,000, I cannot believe it, our tornado clip only has 10,000, I think it was the part with the weather radar on the cell phone, nice touch.
As I entered the park after the delay I overheard that on the security walkie talkie " as long as they have a ticket....and are somewhat sober they can re enter " ....
yea this is very very rare for chicago to have a storm this bad but a year or so ago it was a little worse then this 1!! but this is really really bad! I WISH I WAS THERE! o well
Im am so pissed off i went to my friends house right b4 it all started, and his mom was like telling us to go into the basement so we couldnt see nothing
dude that was awsome i wasnt there but when i put it in fullscreen i feel like im there doing all the stuff u where doing but i wish i was there!!!!!! o well my house got hit really hard XD
@troshs Yep, there's one at 1:50 and 1 at 1:05 (it's the blurry white thing way in back). If you visit the link I'm about to PM you and follow the arrow straight ahead, you should see it.
i was at this game and thought it was the coolest thing ever, i am a astros fan and i live in Texas so i see that kind of stuff all the time,by the way that was my first trip ever to wrigley field
i was at my house watching the game when our siren went off everyone in the closet and then the lights went off scary crap...(nothing happend passed then)
i was at that game, it was the bottom of the 5th inning and we left becouse i felt sick, so when we got in the car, my friend called me and was like get in the basement now! but i couldnt becouse i was in the car, so we went into a resteraunt , becouse there was a funnel cloud right above us. Now im glad i was sick.
I love how you look at the phone to see the evil cloud of death approaching
