Hey, I work for a small music blog called Put a Bird on It Music and will be interviewing Moving Mountains at the Warped Tour tomorrow (8/13/11 at the Gorge in WA). Instead of doing last-minute research on all the bands we're interviewing and asking the same re-hashed questions, we figured we'd reach out to fans for any real questions they wanted asked :) reply in the comments or PM me with questions for MM, if you do the latter I can send you a link to the interview when its done! Thanks!
i hate when people criticize a band's music for not being original, if you like it then who gives a shit? and if not then don't listen to it. musicians have been copying each other since it all began, no one is totally 100% original so just listen and enjoy.
@domhanator "Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known." - Chuck Palahniuk
There was also a quote I heard once about how no art is completely original because someone, somewhere thought of it before, but I douched up this comment enough by quoting palahniuk
Anyway, I think it's incredible how this band starts off right from the start as so conceptual and powerful and they just continue to wow me. I hope they get far, they deserve it.
I took the chance to see these guys live on tour last year with say anything...Not only do they make GREAT music but, they are also real...even though I never got my water that they said they would get me lol anyway....CHECK THEM OUT LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!! its worth it. They deserve to be signed.
This band is amazing, not because of their music in particular (though that does help). To imagine that on their FIRST album (A DEBUT FOR GOD'S SAKE!), they wrote something so ambitious, conceptual and universal, and are already PROVING that on a second album, they can write something equally powerful... It's just stunning. They're barely partway into their career and have released two brilliant albums (if you consider this 40-minute EP an album, that is...).
I'm friends with them and can tell you that one of their biggest influences is The Appleseed Cast and played with them a couple months ago at The Space in CT. They are also heavily influenced by Thursday and TREOS (The Receiving End Of Sirens)
I should have specified, Post- Emo. These guys sound nothing like bands like Rites of Spring or Embrace but they do sound similar to Post- Emo bands like SDRE, The Appleseed Cast and American Football.
i...what...is this...yeah i understand... i love this band now..

@danfoxx86 sounds like they recorded the drums in a huge room. I'm only saying this because the reverb sounds so natural.

Does anyone know what gear the band uses that gives them their reverb sound? it's pretty much perfect

moving mountains is so sick. just the right balance between new sound and old experience, or vice versa.

@Xavier6972 I think it was @pretendyourealive judging by his comment.

I love how bands like this always think they're creative and original, when really they all sound exactly the same. Shit

It sounds a lot more aggressive than the past music on Pneuma, definitely. However, it's still a good song.
