No offense, but Mythbusters really, REALLY need to watch a source of a myth if it is in a movie or on the telly! @komasow if u were to turn up the hop up all the way, and were to fire sideways, there would be a strong backspin on the bb which would cause the bb to be able to prin to the side. dont knock it till u try it, ive done so with a GBB and it managed to hit a can, but i cant do it with a swinging arm motion however....

thinking a bullet could curve means a serious lack of physics knowledge.. To change the course of an object you need to apply a force to it right? Then how could the bullet's course change since it's not in contact with anything but nearly static air? Even if it worked there would be no chance someone "normal" could shoot at the right moment. Whilst u are technically correct that the swinging motion would change it's trajectory slightly even a machine was unable to affect any serious deviation. As for "adrenaline" you might as well argue that with enough of it you could jump tall buildings...

the round is leaving a straight barrel, how you swing it doesn't affect the trajectory, at all points during the motions, the round is still travelling in a straight line, only after it has left the barrel can its trajectory alter

If I swing the gun at 50mph, then the bullet will leave the gun with a forward speed of 700mph, and a sideways speed of 50mph, resulting in an angled trajectory of 14 to 1. Meaning that for every 14 feet it travels forward, it will travel 1 foot sideways. No need to swing it fast to make a noticeable difference. Even 25mph will result in a deviation of 11 ft over the distance of a football field.

@kojinus The bullet used in the movie is a .45 ACP bullet. Shot out of a Matchmaster, and after a few calculations I have estimated (and confirmed) that the bullet travels at 266 meters per second. Unless they managed to swing the barrel faster than that speed, after the moment they fired the weapon, there would be no difference.

Oh, and you can't swing a gun's barrel faster than 266 meters per second.

it's not going to have effect at all on the curvature, it will still fly "straight". Even if you moved your arm at 200MPH the bullet would fly straight.
