no they shouldn't, anyone who puts shitty generic music in a hockey compilation video is fucked in the head, gotta have the play-by-play to go with it
Brodeur cant hear you or reply to shitheads because he has stanley cup rings in his ears and 2 gold medals in his mouth...and your behind a computer screen..thinking your better and have the experience to judge his play...
I'll always remember the first time I saw him up close. I went to one of their practices in mennen arena, I took a picture of him when he was walking to the ice but I accidentally had the flash on so he got pissed off lol.
great video. besides being a great goalie, hes great with the media and always willing to talk to anyone and everyone even right before a game. I still believe the devils and brodeur himself were the sole reason why we have the trapezoid rule so he couldnt come out and clear the puck and pass up ice and even score (just another area that hes the best in) will be a sad day in devils history when he finally hangs up the skates for the last time.
@GoalieTributesHD All I can say is.. WOW. Dude thank you for being a very respectful person towards Marty because there aren't many who would give him credit where it's due. This video is amazing!
You have to respect a legend. This goalieguru guy is just an asshole. Brodeur is making the stop an won games. He could have done with any defense. Quit your bitching and just accept that this guy has accomplished more then you in your lifetime
Regardless of what anyone says Brodeur is one of the best, if not the best. He's a legend. If you haven't watched him, the numbers speak for themselves.
LOL @ TheGoalieGuru acting all smart and shit. Dude. When you start playing in the NHL I'll give two shits about what you said. That is Goaltending. Not everyone is meant to go down in butterfly. LoL idiot.
@TheGoalieGuru ok were r ur fuckin NHL stats! U prob played goalie but got head ache's from the red light behind you, ya I can pick apart a goalie too btw, it's not impressive
not this goalieguru guy again!!!!! we already spoke about this, dude! brodeur uses his athleticism, positioning and his anticipation to make saves. yes, i get it, he is not the most technically sound goalie out there, but he makes up for it with his other amazing attributes. of course, if you want robotic "butterfly" goalies ONLY to exist, then you have a definite gripe. but don't massacre a guy who was better than anyone in the NHL for the better part of a decade over it
what's with all the broduer haters? why would you look up his highlight tape? he is a legend, most shutouts, most wins, most saves, most play off shutouts, most playoff shutouts in a single season, most wins in a single season, rookie of the year, 4 time vezina trophy winner, two time olympic gold medal winner, youngest goalie to reach 300, 400, 500 wins, only to reach 600, 10 time all star, 3 time stanley cup winner. you all can eat shit
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
5) the save at 0:55 is laughable how bad the overcommitment and technique is. Damn good thing the player doesn't get the puck up quick enough and the puck enters the glove at knee level. But again Brodeur being the great actor he is sells it like he made a great one. 6) Great save with good technique! 7) At 1:24, laughable! Great positioning for the rebound, not.
@TheGoalieGuru your lucky im not a brodeur fan, but i agree with everything you stated, yet you forgot to state that brodeur grew up in a generation where this was acceptable. if you want to criticize luongo than id have more sympathy because he just chooses not to follow the new style of butterfly goalies, and is overrated in my opinion. but to tear apart a legend that plays an old style because he IS OLD, takes no skill at all, guru
@GoalieTributesHD Brodeur is a legend for stopping a shot average of 19 per game in his 15 Stanley Cup Final wins? In his 9 losses in Stanley Cup Final play he averaged 28 shots against. Brodeur is no legend. He played for the right team at the right time. The stats I just provided prove it 1000% he was no savior in the Finals. When his team gave up lots of shots on average they lose. When is great defense only gives up 19 a game on average they win. A good Junior B goalie could stop 19 a night!
@GoalieTributesHD you're both dumb. his numbers are still untouched despite the over training and, larger pads, "technique". butterfly goaltending is the worst thing to happen to the position. You used to have to be athletic, creative, intelligent, quick. now you just have to drop to your knees with a huge chest protector and take up as much net as possible. he played in the best era for goalies, roy, hasek, marty, the top three of all time, unrivaled. that was an exciting time for goalies
@mattandy35 Back in the 90's when marty was in his prime, the game was slower and goalies never had to work on form, they just did what they could do to stop the puck. Nowadays, the game is played at a much faster pace, goalies have to be able to move across the entire crease while in a butterfly, and goalies never had to deal with shootouts back in the day.Goalies have to practice moving in the crease and be agile and athletic to be able to do these moves at a pro level
@veeragandersucks and brodeur did it across both of those playing styles. and there were still guys that could play in the 90s. yes, the game is faster, but regardless of the reason my original point remains valid-the 90s was a great time for goalies. and it seems many people agree. and you're NUTS if you dont think brodeur, hasek, roy, belfour, richter, barasso, osgood couldn't play successfully in today's game exactlythe way they played in the 90s. they wouldnt need the over training
@GoalieTributesHD Brodeur is no legend. The team that played the trap and had Hall of Fame defensemen in front of him that gave up very, very, few shots and scoring chances is the legend you speak of.
Brodeur faced only 19 shots on average in the 15 wins the Devils had in Stanley Cup FINAL play. Imagine that and absorb that. 19 shots a game. But just as importantly, in the 9 losses the Devils had they averaged 28 against! As you can see by that stat, Brodeur wasn't a difference maker at all.
@TheGoalieGuru wow dude, what a novel concept, a goalie does better when they see less shots... holy crap, that's astonishing. that stat would be interesting to see how that compares to other goalies in the nhl, isolated it means nothing. also, the trap is a fairly common system in the nhl, other teams have run it without nearly the same goaltender success. and did Team Canada run a trap? cause i'm pretty sure he was sick in international play as well with a wider sheet of ice.
@mattandy35 The other teams who ran the trap gave up more shots! Brodeur has faced the fewest shots!
Brodeur played for Canada the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD! Not Germany! In the 2006 Olympics Canada out shot Switzerland 50 to 19 and lost 2-0 and Martin Gerber got a shutout. Brodeur stank!
@TheGoalieGuru i never said u have to hold records to be good. but obviously hes good if he holds almost every record. and ron wilson is 6th for all time wins so obviously hes been something right.... would you care to try again
@TheGoalieGuru Any one can sit at home behind the safety of their computer and re-play video and spend days analyzing every second and every frame of footage, then give an opinion on what SHOULD have happened. A goalie has micro seconds to act and react. You have to act and react even if it means being unorthodox. I know this because I AM a goalie..... Fucktard.
1) Save at 0:22 poor lateral movement and weight transfer good thing the player didn't roof it. 2) At 0:26 and 0:29 the puck was simply shot into his glove at knee level and Brodeur sells it by raising the glove, faker. 3) Poor rebound control at 0:36 and literally passes the puck to the guy at 0:39 which is awful rebound control. 4) At 0:44 the puck was shot along the ice so this save was routine and why was he so over committed from a pass from behind the net? cont...
I don't care WHO you are or WHAT your meanings are about hockey. But this stands a LOT OFF respect for Martin Brodeur, he has just had a great career! Thumbs please for Martin Brodeur !!
He's had a great career, hope he goes deep into the playoffs this year, just tone down on the amount of regular season games and he'll be fine for the playoffs. That's my humble opinion.
The best goalie in the NHL history, I don`t care what the haters, Roy`s or whoever fans say. It`s not just because he`s been playing all his career with Devils. He proved his quality not just with Dan-O, Stevens, Niedermayer, Rafalski or Martin, but also with crappy defense. Hopefully he can bring a Cup once again before he`ll retire. With or without another one, he`s already a living legend. Great vid, thx man.
One of the best goaltenders of all time. A Pittsburgh Penguins fan born and raised, so i've seen alot of him over the years. and although i thought the neutral zone trap was almost the death of hockey, i have nothing but respect for him.
