I think he deserve a chance to be the Mets manager in 2011. Let's start 2011 with a new GM and a new manager... I think it's the only way the owners can turn around the mess we're in. The turnaround start with Backman as the new head coach of the Mets !!!

I Love this guy! I hope Backman comes the Mets future Manager one day! Its time for the Amazins to get there own virsion of a guy like Billy Martin!

Was a pleasure watching him play. One of my favorites. Hojo, Mookie and the rest of the 86 Mets, that was one hell of a team. Really was. Surprised they didn't win two or three of them, but the 86 year was special. I met him once (get it, Met him once) Everyone deserves a second chance, especially if they changed they're ways. I forgot what the arrest was about.

I love this guy. I have been a huge fan of his since I was 11 (1984). He was my childhood hero. Its a shame the way major league baseball has treated him and I know he would be an asset to any team. As a die-hard Met fan, I know he would bring even bigger crowds to Shea. Love ya Wally and good luck!
