  • This is just TOO EASY. THANKS SO MUCH !

  • This sucks, I don't even get to struggle for the tab. Actually, it's sucks that I didn't think of this teaching method. Nice.

  • would anybody tell me why my E.C. book says that "words and music" for the song "crossroads" were written by E.C, and my Robert Johnson book says that he, Robert Johnson wrote them....which one wrote the song??? as far as i always knew , the song was written by R.J. and that E.C. only cover it...thanks for the lesson...neither one of my books is as good as your lesson...even though both have tabs...it is better to see how it is played...

  • great lesson!..who knew it could be that easy..THANKS!

  • ive listened to this song for years, but only recently have i truly understood in level of mastery and how unrivaled it is. what a tune.

  • Thank you, Sir.

    Very cool lesson.

  • Is this an open G

  • thanks for reminding me why I don't even consider ever touching anything that Eric Clapton has made :D

  • Sweet vid dude,..upload more,..liking ya style.

  • Thank you for this lesson man! (I know you must have a ton of message like that!)

  • WOW MAN =D I never knew it was that easy =) you're my hero, i actually nailed that before i finished watching your video, thanks!

  • by the way, I'd love to hear a full cover by this guy =)

  • I Like the sound, but the execution has no soul. You should try to give more rythm to the riff. It's just too "precise", like you're playing on a metronome....

  • Awesome!

  • I very much appreciate your videos, they have been very helpful. Good work!!

  • wat type of marshall you using,.?

  • Comment removed

  • love the song hate clapton but your vids are great thank you man, back playin after a big gap but gettin there thanks again

  • @alexmblack well it's ROBERT JOHNSON's music from 1920's, can listen him,,whom happens to be clapton's ''icon''and many others...his music is simply brilliant!

  • fantastic !!!!!!

  • nice amp

  • Great job.

I think the D7 lick is a bit more syncopated (double open D string and possibly 2 C notes on the B string). Just a thought.

  • Great job!

I think the D7 arpeggio lick is more syncopated, with a double 0 on the D string and perhaps a double C (1) on the B string.

  • thanks for putting in your time to show a middle of the roader like me , thanks again.

  • Who are you, and where have you been? Thank you!

  • Mate this is superb, thanks for taking the time to share, good on you

  • Man. I really love these video lessons! I was never really into em much, but i was looking up hideaway because i heard SRV play it in a video, and i wanted to learn it. I found it, and it was a kick ass video, and then this one caught my eye, and you just have so many good songs, i think i may become addicted. haha. keep em coing. theyre really good

  • @vitto22rox Thanks for you're appreciation - glad you enjoy the vids, there's quite a few to keep you going and I'll try and get to some new ones soon! Cheers...

  • dude, check out , englishbluesman -its the real deal

  • fuck off which brand it is, sounds good man

  • Cool man, thanks for sharing. Great chops. I'll give it a go next jam.

  • that amp sucks.....

check out my vids if you get chance ;)

  • that sucks the life in the fast lane was one of my favs !! the eagles for ya ! im a huge joe walsh fan. hey you should do a funk 49 training vid , peace

  • 00.23-00.32 why end when you had a good start ..!

I know you just showe how to play it but it must be boring to end when you have started a hell of show!

4/5 you get 5 when you make a follow up! ROCKON!

  • Thanks.

I only do short segments in order to try and stay within copyright Fair Use law. Not too successful though as I've just had my Life In The Fast lane intro taken down!

  • No problem

  • thanks it helped me alot

  • Thanks man it helped alot

  • dont use tab make it your own put soul into it you will be a lot better

  • @z3r0skills exactly and especially for this song

  • @z3r0skills Yes, that's a very wise word of advise for musicians. A lot of musicians tend to think they MUST play like the original they had come to know and love, most likely because they feel that's the only way to make it sound good. But the truth is, you can make it sound just as great even if you do tweak it to your comfort. I for one like using the tab to get the hang of where you want to be, and then I work around that core method just as you suggest =)

  • That's a nice intro but not how Clapton plays it.

  • is it me or are you tuned different

  • good my boy

  • nice. you got it sounding good slowed down too....sweet!

  • need full song<3

  • nice,,, i love blues!!

  • One of my favorites.

  • great idea man! but why dont you teach the complete song? that will be awesome!

  • great! what effect do u use?

  • Thanks - no effects, just the amp overdrive.

  • tnx a lot....really helped and good sound......this is a good method with tabs on the video.....congrats man !!!

  • Great - glad to hear they are helping you.

  • Excellent!

  • lolz...reminds me of a song in the sims 3

  • you should totally give me your marshall.....i'll be your best friend........

  • hahaha

  • wonderful marshall, man!

  • sweet les paul custom i've got an epiphone 56' goldtop what amp r u using

  • Nice work man real good!!!!!! I like it !!!!!!

  • Many thanks...

  • i tried to get it but i only got the first part down

  • Keep at it!

  • cool lick

  • gibson les paul custom w/ebony fretbeoard....i betcha !!

  • do you run any effects through your jvm410c I have the same amp and have trouble finding tone.

  • I do live, but none here.

I tend to use the OD1 channel with Drive set just above 2, starting with all tone controls straight up at 5. Back off the volume and tone on the guitar a bit can help too.

    Good luck...

  • Nice, love this song, pritty complicated to work out.

  • is it epispone or gibson, big price difference, im betting epiphone

  • gibson

  • dude is that a samick??

or is it a gibson? because in all of your videos the headstock is never shown lol.

  • Its a Harley Benton for 120 $, thats why he never shows his head :P

  • haha that is most certainly a gibson custom... look at the truss rod cover plus hes using a jvm series marshall, serious ****. besides who cares what hes playing with, its a lesson vid not a "look what i got vid"

  • nope, its a Gibson Les Paul custom. He even says so in some of his other vids.

  • @318825768 Actually, it IS a Gibson.

  • MAGISTER!!

  • muy bueno, muchas gracias

  • Is the intro palm muted? great lesson

  • your insane on guitar dude :P

  • awesome sound, bro! what model les paul is that?

  • I cant see the headstock so theres no way to tell for sure whether its a gibby or epiphone but either way its a les paul custom "black beauty"

  • if someone hides the guitar head,

    it's auto EPIPHONE!

    :D

  • Gibson Les Paul Custom - Cheers...

  • great job!!!

  • been so long since i read tabs i had it upside down haha. NOW i can play it :)

  • sound sexy and butiful andorgasmic

  • awesome! it sounds exactly like the way eric clapton plays it. 5 stars definitely

  • wewll donhe helped me loads 5*

  • Thanks for the lesson. I've had the basic riff down for years but could never get that little flurry near the end right, thanks for slowing it down and transcribing it!

  • I know what you mean about the flurry, I'm sure there's a few variations so glad it helped...

  • This is... easy... LOL! Nice riff...

  • Hi, Thanks! I can't believe how simple this is! I could never figure out the chord thing that follows the 1st riff (it looks like a D or D7). I just love this song, and can't wait to try it out! I also dig the VanHalen and Hendrix tips!

YouTube rocks!! Keep up the good work, and thanks again for sharing!!

  • Thanks a lot.

Kick ass sound, a great guitar and good explanation!

  • nice amplifier i got a marshall too but mine is the 50 DFX it almost looks the like yours only you got twise as much controls on it.

  • reminds me of salash at 0:22

  • great stuff tried other vids before i found urs an no help at all...great jobb a little vid goes a long way!!!

  • Very nice.

    Is that a Les Paul?

  • This is a Black Custom Gibson... AKA Black Beauty...

  • gotta love clapton's work on this riff. very helpful, thanks. and that is a beautiful guitar :D

  • Rhythm looks really hard to get:S (intro)

  • With this kind of song you have to listen to it loads and get the feel of it in your blood - learn the different sections but don't worry about absolute note for note, the feel of it is the most important. And it is tricky to get...good luck

  • great feel and vibrato!

  • Cheers....
