  • Dunno anything about the movie folks keep mentioning, but I first heard about this song through... one of Cat's other songs, actually. He alludes to it in "I Never Wanted to Be a Star," and I wanted to hear this and the other ones he mentions there. I dunno if it was written for whatever movie, but I like it even without that context. Hooray for being raised on old folk/folk rock music. XP

  • Sim,eu penso,"eu v ia luz!!!!"

  • Wonderful, wonderful song. Cat was great in his heyday.

  • who thinks Jack Black would do a great cover of this song?!

  • @zombiegirl7765

Something else for him to ruin.

  • @zombiegirl7765 you suck

  • I have an old 45 somewhere... anyway this is the flipside to Moonshadow or Peace Train, I forget. I was playing albums and flipped. (smiles)

  • Macaframa!

  • would love to see this live, and him pounding on that piano, bet it was awsome

  • such a great song

  • Every time I hear this song I think of Harold and Maude having sex. lol!!!!

  • @blugeagua lol

  • you gotta love cat!

  • I love Cat Stevens . I love the music that he has. I am very new to this so forgive me if i get it wrong. i will keep trying.

  • i love this song!!! i love harold and maude!

  • I also went like "what the...?!" harold's so great^^ maude's awesome :)

  • my goodness i cant contain myself..must dance to this brilliance!

  • I've listened to Cat Stevens before, but I got to be honest that watching Harold and Maude is what really got me into him. Probably because it had other songs that I haven't heard before.

  • When my friend, cousin, and I were watching Harold and Maude (I showed them this movie) and this scene came on, they were like "what the...". I love Harold and Maude! And Cat Stevens!

  • One of the best songs I have ever heard in my 56 years on this pebble of sand!! Bar none! No religion, politics, or anything else for that matter can cover that Light.

So, Shine, Shine, Shine, Yusuf (Cat), be what you need to be, and let your light reflect on us. Peace my Babies

  • Great song

  • I't's hard to imagine "Harold and Maude" without Cat Stevens but at the same time he comes more to his right in the context of the movie !

  • F**king amazing song. Loved it (and Cat) since I first saw Harold and Maude when I was 12.

  • @zigzag789789 the song came out one year before the movie.

  • @zigzag789789 SHITTY? Harold and Maude is great don’t get mad because people discovered Cat Stevens in a different way than you. Sorry I didn’t hear it when it came out because I was -18 years old

  • @zigzag789789 shitty movie? lay off the crack

  • @zigzag789789 always fascinating to see someone speak with authority with something of which he knows not. The song is contemporaneous to the movie, the movie was one of the greatest fulminations of life, death and war at the very pinnacle of the Vietnam war and those of us who were becoming eligible to go that was ever done, and still been called a comedy. Take the time to IMDB the actors, writer and director before you show your ignorance by calling something "shitty."

  • Great! Listened to a faster version which was more electronic, was awesome too!

  • I had forgotten this song, thank you for posting!

  • fly... shine ... brilliant

  • So much more than awesome.
