This event was started by the Chinese community living in Bendigo - The Chinese association puts all these acts together and many of those carrying these dragons are either from Asian decent or are in Australia as students over from Asia. So it is actually the Asian Community bringing a big part of their culture to the West. The footage is pretty clear you make out that a big part of those involved in the parade are from the Asian community.
