  • how did you do the tv thing

  • @krooshe I used Photoshop for the graphics and Sony Vegas to layer the graphic over the video and apply video effects.

  • only book i haved reed

  • @kainkusanagi, I have Cryptum, but currently I'm reading the Gears of War book series by Karin Traviss over again, currently I'm on Anvil Gate, but I did read the first fifty pages, and its really good, but great review, I love the Fall of Reach

  • I've read all of the halo books except Cryptum, I would say I like all of them except Cole Protocol

  • @abspartanlaser You should get Cryptum. It's really good and very different from the other Halo books.

  • @ShadowXOptics The Flood doesn't get the respect it deserves. Not as good as The Fall of Reach, but for Halo fans it's still worth reading. It's a retelling Halo CE, but you get more perspectives than just the Chief. Yayap, a grunt, is a great character with a funny opinion on the futility of war. One chapter is through the eyes of an infected human, interesting stuff. First Strike takes place between Halo 1 & 2 and it's great. First Strike is better. You won't be thrown off by skipping book 2.

  • It's said "John one seventeen" not "John one one seven"

  • Movie for Halo: Fall of Reach is scheduled for 2012, people. imbd confirms =S

  • @dairyduck are you for realz O_O

  • @dnabg yupp

  • can u play 2 player in halo reach

  • @Nasir7274 Halo Reach supports up to 4 player co-op for the full campaign in split screen, LAN, and online matchmaking.

  • @kainkusanagi yup

  • the book is awesome

  • what book is the game Halo: Reach based off of? is it the Fall of Reach? because you said fall of reach was about 117, but whats the book that has Carter, Kat, and Noble Six? or was it just made up for the game? thx

  • @bleujae1 You could say that the game Halo: Reach is a side story to the book Halo: The Fall of Reach. The book is about John 117's life leading up to the fall of reach. The actual battle is how the book ends and John's part is mostly in space. The game takes place during the entire battle and shows mostly the ground warfare. The third book, Halo: First Strike sees John's return to a destroyed planet Reach as he meats up with surviving Spartans and the good doctor.

  • @Kainkusanagi, thanks man, finally whose read the book thats not under 17! thanks, those kiddos didn't know what was going on, loved the book, loved the review!

  • johns real name was replaced by john and u kno im right cuz u read the book i was just there to correct u only hasley and johnsen and stuff kno his real name

  • please review cole protocol

  • hey do you know what reading level this is? cuz when i read this in 7th grade i had no clue what was happening lol. and epic video! keep making em. ( i subscribed)

  • @aquaagu2 I'd say it's for young adults.

  • @kainkusanagi ok thanks

  • @aquaagu2 i read it in seventh grade, tho i had to re-read the page sometimes

  • @mogogrog yeah. it was pretty confusing. now i just started 8th and i can read it just fine.

  • No I meant relation to the reach game which there is a few and a few things that contradict the book, I sure picked Halsey to look different

  • I loved this book.

  • I hope there's a relation to the book and game, cuz wen I got it years ago and now by far one of the best books i've read and only I've read as many times, I wudnt mind a good movie based off of it, in fear it'd ruin the story tho :P

  • @cowheadman There is. The end leads directly into the first game.

  • ur shirt is on the wrong side

  • 2bitgaming more like 2dickgaying jk. But good vid

  • i'm with you. theres no need for multiplayer in my opinion. a game should exist for its story. not its graphics or the fact you can "pwn teh noobz n t-bad de fazez" :rolls eyes: and yes the fall of reach was awesome. lets hope that halo: reach will be just as awesome

  • I love haloffor the same reason too :D halo rocks :D:D::D:D:D:D:D

  • HE SAID DOODIE!!!! lol

  • is the book actually a book. Not a comic? like, it has lots of\ text and not only pictures

  • @Aladiniz More like no pictures only lots of text.

  • it's not a comic. it's a BY FAR must read book. i cant believe it didn't make a new york time's bestseller

  • FINALLY SOMEONE WHO LOVES HALO FOR THE SAME REASON AS I DO!

  • @Dzzle117 Yeah, too many people just play the MP and if they do play the Campaign they skip the cut-scenes. It's a shame because the story is really good through the series.

  • @kainkusanagi I know right! and the book and comic series make it even better

  • lol he looks like phelous =D

  • yes im a bit pissed that bungie isnt going to follow the books story at all and just have a bunch of spartan 3s attacking anything they can find on reach. i mean wtf ever happened to spartan 2s defending the generators and mc out on a space op where james gets killed in quite a funny way(james is stupid)

  • Reading the book right now, is pretty good, haven't got enough time to read it these days.

  • It would be cool to make a movie about it.

  • I'd love to see a movie based on the book.

  • I love this book. Probably read it about 6 times haha

  • nice vids

  • 1:51

are there no depressing books anymore halo for gods sake

  • The book is the shit

    nice vid

  • is Dr. Halsey cortana from halo the fall of reach

  • they made her kinda like a replica inthe book but for realz in the games no im dont think they look alike

  • Smart AI's are made from cloned brains. Cortana was born from the cloned brain of Dr. Halsey, but they are far from being the same person. They do share some of the same traits like a protective nature and a willingness to do just about anything to reach their goals. Dr. Halsey's description in the books is nothing like that of Cortana.

  • Who are the spartans on the cover?

  • i will name them middle-Master Chief to his right-Sam to MC left-Kelly to the left of kelly-IDK LOL

  • Could be Chief, Fred, Kelly, and Sam, or any number of of other Spartans. The cover isn't a scene from the book so it's impossible to say for sure.

  • Well, now that the premiere was shown and I've finally just finished reading F.o.R, I'm confused now. I was hoping that the ones on the cover would be Chief, Fred, Kelly, and Sam, but it seems many of us were wrong.

  • The Spartans on the cover of the book are not the same as the ones in the upcoming game.

  • Unfortunately no. But most likely it's based on some side stories of the events on Reach.

  • @phatmic6922 Ya and I hate Microsoft eternally for that and bungie too just because ms gave the a deadline those lazy sacks of shits leave ms because there lazy and then ms copyrights masterchief so they can't use him ahhhh I wanted a game about the fall of reach so bad because early on they had a pic showing the Spartan 2's training as kids

  • @armagedon6 Just read the book. Its not hard.

  • @killerbumble i did i read all of them jackass thats why i want ther to be a game about ir

  • I got a halo box set with the fall of reach the flood and first strike. ( i read all of them in backwords order) =(

  • were can i buy these books. always wanted to read them.

  • Most book stores or amazon if your looking online.

  • thanks :)

  • i have two halo books that are HALO THE FALL OF REACH AND HALO THE FLOOD. i got these at indigo.

  • fuck it is a good book. but im confused about how the other spartans died?? not during that ting how thet=y made there bones unbrakable but how??

  • Not all of them died, a few pop up in the later books, but there could be others that survived that we just don't hear about.

  • One more question, I'm still a bit confused. During what time in Halo does "The Ghosts of Onyx" novel take place?

  • I think it takes place at the same time as Halo 2. The story pics up right after "First Strike" and it probably ends about the same time as Halo 3 ends.

  • Would you mind telling me the ending of that novel in a message please? Not the whole thing but a main event that occurs. Because if it's what I think it is then I think I can make a connection to what happens in the legendary ending of Halo 3

  • Sure, sending it right now.

  • Yeah I'm probably thinking the same thing phatmic6922 is. If you don't mind telling me the end of the novel either it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Hey guys! Great book review! I couldn't put The Fall of Reach down! I only finished The Flood yesterday though. That one was awesome as well. And some guy named Greg Bear is writing a 3 part series based on the Forerunners...

  • hey wats the sequel to this?

  • Halo The Flood.

It's basically the story from the first game, but told from more perspectives so you get the whole story.

Then there's Halo First Strike which pics up right after the first game ended and takes place before the second game. It's really good.

  • Noble One is the squad that John was in

  • Source?

  • This book was so amazing. I couldn't stop reading it

  • I can't find the books anywhere. But I know they're excellent novels. But aside from Halo: Reach, will there really be a Halo 4 made by 343 Industries? I've always heard that if there will be one, it will be made by a company called "Gearbox", which I've never heard of.

  • 343 Industries now controls everything Halo related. I'm betting they will develop it in house since they have the talent and they just brought in a specialized 3D engine programmer. If they do use an outside developer it doesn't mater since they will oversee it closely.

  • Thanks for clearing that up. But I just have one more question, Will the Spartans that everyone's talking about show up in Halo: Reach? Such as Sam, or Linda? I'm having a hard time putting the time-line together.

  • It's hard to say. The time line fits, but Bungie might go with a story about the second batch of Spartan 2s mentioned in the book. The trailer for Reach mentions Sierra 360 and Sierra 259. Sierra is the code name for Spartans and both those numbers are too high to be from the same group of Spartans as John 117. The trailer also mentions someone or something called "Noble One". It sounds important and it could be the name of a squad of new Spartans.

I look forward to the preview in the new EGM.

  • That really does makes sense. Hopefully they'll leave a hint of John 117 in the game. Thanks.

  • John returned to Reach while the ground battle was still going on in the book First Strike. He could show up at some point in the story.

  • But about the name "Noble One", it doesn't really sound like a squad name for Spartans. In the trailer, it sounded like a specific Spartan was being called out, probably a special Spartan in my opinion of course. I think if it were a squad, he probably would've said, "Noble Ones" with an "S". but then again it was only a teaser, and you might be right.

  • You wouldn't refer to a squad in plural. It's a singular unit. Individually they would be plural but as a squad they wouldn't. I was just guessing anyway, for all I know it could be a ship or special kind of new fighter jet/space craft.

  • There's just so many predictions and thoughts. It's just a year away, but it feels like months. I look forward to the gameplay footage very soon. Hopefully I can find the "Fall of Reach" novel soon, so I can keep myself patient until the video game is released, and I can have more of an idea to what it will be about. But you've given me a lot of ideas, especially with the Noble One suggestion.

  • Make sure to read First Strike too. It has a lot more about the ground battle on Reach.

  • Sure thing, but are there any local stores where I can purchase these novels? Such as a Target, or a well known store?

  • Other than a book store I don't know. Amazon is probably your best bet online, but if you want to buy local you'll probably have to check book stores.

  • dude you are so right i got the first three in the series Fall of Reach,The Flood, and First Strike all i can say is if you love Halo you will lopve these books and ive onlyread the first 5 pages of the book!

  • im about halfway through the book and i like it thanks for the review!

  • FWAT As

  • It's a prequel, yes?

  • Yes it is.

  • Isn't there also a graphic novel version of the fall of reach?

  • I don't know, could be.

  • Ah, i was just asking as those long words hurt my brain and I can't read a book without purdy pictures hyuk hyuk :D

  • lol 1:48 ...........he said duty

  • I couldn't agree with you more about Halo; the multiplayer is fun, but the campaign and backstory are excellent. I picked up the first 3 books, couldn't put em down, then quickly grabbed the other two. I would truly like to see the Halo universe stick around for a while; even if it's not in the gaming realm.

  • I wouldn't worry about Halo games going away any time soon. It's branching out into other genres and media. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft Studios was already working on Halo 4 while Bungie is created Halo: Reach and ODST. I also wouldn't be surprised if Halo Chronicles comes out next year and an expansion for Halo Wars gets announced soon.

  • but the directing manager for bungie and the halo series said that halo 3 odst is the last of the halo trilgoy... but they r making halo reach....im pretty sure that they r going to make games out of the books...but do u seriously think that they r making a halo 4? please reply

  • Halo 3 ODST was a side story, that's why it has the 3 in it's title. The "Trilogy" is Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3.

Halo Reach can be considered part of the main story, but it is seperat. Bungie knows what they're doing and it will be cannon. I expect it to use the plot from both the books Fall of Reach and First Strike.

As for Halo 4, that's going to be made by 343 Industries which is a Microsoft owned gaming studio build just for Halo and to manage the IP.

Halo 4 is probably in production.

  • how much does this cost both book alone and the three boxset?

  • I got the hard cover fall of reach, not no crappy paperback.

  • Sweet! You're like me x)

I love to play single player halo :3

    Multi was meh for me

  • all the impossible no lifes ruined it

  • I read the book I like the part when he was in boot camp with the instructor and the had saltine crackers for lunch

  • i recently bought the 3 bundle of books in the box, and i just started reading The Fall of Reach, only got up to the very start of section 2 cause i started reading it last night. I must say i am very impressed with it and i am really enjoying it, the way the characters develop and show their feelings is really interesting. Can't wait to finish the book and read the other 2.

  • i like on how the story is so detailed that even the augumentation drugs even have names and effects and side effects

  • FINNALY someone agrees with me on Halo. All of my friends yell at me everytime they see all the halo books sitting on my counter or everytime I bring up crap about Halo's story. The universe in Halo is masterfully created, it creates artificial history nearly as well as the star wars series and develops a plot beyond the plot thank u so much

  • I agree with you. Fall of Reach was a fantastic book. I'm reading it now for the third time. Every time I read the book, it seems to get better and better.

HOWEVER, the book could have been better if John and Kelly had a little fling. Maybe add a little romance into it. Either way, fantastic novel.

Eric Nylund is a great writer. And you said his name right.

  • ...

  • The endless enthusiasm of holding things in front the camera keeps me entertained.

  • omg we can finally see master chief's face OMG

  • There's 6 books out now "The Cole Protocol" came out in Nov. I HAVE THAT BOXSET!!!! XD ,,, John had the hots for kelly, and by the discription in the book.... i would too :]

  • wait you got a box set with all 6?

  • no no no no sorry for the confusion but i have THAT box set (in the video) sorry man :(

  • Can you do a video review on one of the halo games in the main trilogy?

  • I'd probably do a video on the whole series, if I was to do it at all.

  • Whats the order of the books? I dont wanna jump around through the novels not knowing where the start is.

  • The order is:

    1. The Fall of Reach

    2. The Flood

    3. First Strike

    4. Ghost of Onyx

    5. Contact Harvest

    6. The Cole Protocol

  • thx

  • should i read them in that order? i have read the fall of reach already so the flood is next?

    thanks

  • That's up to you. The Flood is basically the story of Halo Combat Evolved so if you're already played the game you know what to expect. There's plenty in the book that wasn't in the game and a Covenant perspective worth checking out.

  • It has some extra plots added though.

I think that Halo: First Strike was a great way to show what happened between Halo Combat Evolved an Halo 2... Too bad there isn't nuch story behind the Heretic's Origins on Threshold...

  • So, are you going to get ODST and Reach?

  • I'm more excited about Reach than ODST, but I'll get both.

  • ur like me XD

  • Ofcourse, me too, but that is next year. :(

  • what I dont get is why they give the parrents the clones instead of taking the clones

  • They explained that "Flash Clones" die very fast. They probably left the clones in their beds and the parents found them dead or sick and dieing in the morning.

It was just to give the parents closure and so they wouldn't go looking for lost children. The whole thing was illegal to begin with.

The Spartan's story is a sad one, for everyone.

  • cool vid sir thumbs up

  • so that boy in the trailer was master chief?! whats the girl's name?

  • There were several female Spartans. She could be Kelly, I don't really know.

  • KELLY

  • are u sure?

  • yes confiremed by Halo Pedia

  • I just finished the book today and it realy tells you a lot about what hapend

  • I agree i don't buy halo games souly for the multiplayer i buy them for the campain.

  • 01:32 LMAO

  • Your mom is free....

  • halo the flood is the begin of halo combat evoled

  • I bet the game halo: Reach will be based on this book

  • i read it it was awesome also lol u said DUTY!!!! LOLROFLMAO yeah im 14 and laughing at duty lol

  • I forgot which book it was but in one of them a small group of spartans survive and are on what was described as either a halo or the ark. it was ghosts of onxy right?

  • yh its on ghosts of onyx - its sisnt actually specified where they are trapped, personally i think they are just trapped in onyx, the shield world

  • From what I understood they are inside a compressed subspace bubble. It's like their own personal tiny Forerunner universe. I'm sure the Forerunners added an exit somewhere so I doubt they are trapped forever.

  • Yh I think thats it, that part of the book is pretty action packed so it was hard to get where they had gone.

I think you are correct, they are in a tiny universe where the forunners could go when they were being overun by flood, obv they took a differant route of using the rings.

    Keep cool

  • thas' what i thought. The Legendary ending on Halo 3 shows that steel bubble floatin' around. I'm guess that's what will come for halo 4. Nice review....lol

now you don' made me wanna read it.

    thanks;

  • the halo Contact Harvast was awesome. I like how it tells the story of first covent contact, which surprisingly was with brutes not elites.

  • ghost of onxy is AMAZING

  • There is a DOOM BOOK!!!?

OH MAN IS IT ANY GOOD!!!? I HOPE IT'S NOT LIKE DOOM 3!!!

  • It's pretty good. It's basically a novelization of the first game. There are more in the series but I only have the first two a d I hear the third one isn't very good.

  • I like the prologue cuzz it has a lot of action in it and I also like the part were Johny is sent to the training facility when he was 6 cuzz that part makes me laugh.

And I also got The Cole Protocol but I dont like it that much since it dosent have all that action...

  • Fall of Reach is still my favorite, but First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx were good reads as well, IMO.

  • doody haa

  • im reading that book right now i like the space battle with commander keyes very very mind bending with the odd nuke

  • i love your room o.o its like awsome! and i love the master chief helmet!! :D and thanks im gona go buy the book hopefully today!

  • i thought that fall of reach and ghost of onyx were the best 2 books in the series. i find the space combat between human and covenant ships more interesting (even though it is futile). I'd have much preferred to see bungie make a space strategy/ shooter game (like battle stations midway crossed with home world 2...but in a halo genre) rather than halo wars which seemed to show all human units as being superior to there covenant counterparts. which if you look at the books its just not the case

  • great review

  • The Keyes Chapters are a bit cool, in my opinion

  • hey i got the package of book 2 and dony you think the cpt. keyes chapters are boring? i finished the book and am reading "the flood" and havent been bored

  • I love the halo books! I have the first two games for the PC and the third for the 360 Elite. I have 4 out of 6 of them.

    1. Fall of Reach

    2. the Flood

    3: First Strike

    6. The Cole Protocol

  • onyx is rlly good get it.

  • I just bought it an hour ago, I am only on page 20 but already the book is so interesting

  • oh right cool cheers dude

  • hay good review I would like to read these books but i cant read very well im guessing there is no audio books but if there is can you point me in the direction of some please

  • Sure thing. Just to to amazon and search for "Halo Audio Book". I think they all have audio versions.
