Ok, Now that all y'all Super Bowl predictions are in some of y'all were right, some were wrong, but here's my analysis of the games this past weekend. I know i'm going to take some heat from this but, i'm going to tell it like it is: First off, NY Giants, and the NE Patriots were NOT supposed to be in the Superbowl. They were beat, but due to MISTAKES from the other teams, they sneaked their way in there and won their games. The hooked field goal, The fumbled punt return by the rookie. . .Fluke.
@e521soediv You shut your fucking mouth. My New York Giants beat the reigning world Champion Packers and succeeded in a season that was all but over at the start due to injuries and the supposed "dream team" Eagles. The 49'ers didn't lose on a fluke, they lost on a Lawrence Tynes Field Goal. And Jaquain Williams stripped it beautifully. Maybe if that team converted a fucking 3rd down at any point in the game they might be in this discussion.
The Acme Packing Company's very own Packers. My mom knew Arnie Herber when she was a teen ager. I met (and chatted with for 90 minutes) Johnny Blood's nephew at Buffalo Wild Wings on Oneida in 2004....3 years earlier I met John Nitschke, Ray's adopted son...talked to him for an hour before I knew who he was. YES, we could witness the greatest team in NFL history this year....Aaron has the skills to go undefeated....It would be so sweet.
The NFL is a joke today. WAY to many rules to protect these players. Cant hit high, cant hit low, cant touch the QB,cant lead with tackle, can't horsecollar, cant do this,... Ill watch old highlights of the NFL.. thx
If they played by the rules just 10 years ago this PUSS Rodgers of the Packers would be out the game by now, however you cant really hit the QB anymore ..... LAME
@e521soediv The Patriots vs. 49ers will be the Superbowl. Tom Brady and Bill Belichek will get there 4th SB ring and Brady will be MVP! They are the team of the 2000's
Somehow - the players back in the 60's 70's and perhaps 80's were men. Today's players, while more physical, faster, bigger, stronger, and even perhaps tougher, seem to be just boys.
It's because quarterbacks and wideouts have become more fragile and traditionally weak players (read: kickers and punters) have become better at their jobs.
@upperslobodia probably because you were younger than them and now you are older than them so they just seem like boys. I like at guys older than me like Manning, Ray Lewis, and Urlacher and they seem like grown ass men
@upperslobodia You're seeing many more out-of-control egos these days. Money will do that. The previous eras you are speaking of was for the love of the game...
No slides from the 1982 AFC Divisional playoff game between the San Diego Chargers and The Miami Dolphins? That was one of the greatest games ever played!
He totally pushed off! Look at his fingers flexing backwards as his hands come off of Wrights jersey. Plus Wright suddenly jerks away from Pearson eventhough he has his back to him. The Vikings got robbed that day. I am glad the Steelers beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.
this is ELPRESADOR's theme...that of the biblical beast laying down opposition with effortless power and pinpoint accuracy. a thinking man's soldier with an indefiant reputation UNSTOPPABLE campers beware
Not a Cowboys fan, but seeing the one pic with Laundry (did I even spell it right?) with his arms crossed, ready for battle with his players behind him... Good as it get's. Even Lombardi knew he was getting his best game against him.
@icemanjayketchum If Vince Lombardi hadn't died so young I'm sure he would have went on and dominated the 70's R.I.P Vince Lombardi Greatest Coach In NFL History(I Don't Care what your arguement is he is and always will be the greatest coach of all time)
Is there a soundtrack where we can find all these great songs? They make me feel so empowered XD! I'm ready to play with the Steelers Defense!!! LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, that's Tom Landry; Nick Nolte did play a character based on a Dallas WR named Peter Gent, who played under Landry in the '60s-70s. The character's name was Phil Elliot, who was a WR for a team based on the Cowboys called the "North Dallas Bulls" and the movie was called "North Dallas Forty". Peter Gent wrote the novel in 1973 and it was released as a film in 1979. The book is absolutely a work of art, as are most of the novels by Gent; if you haven't read them, you should.
Yep, that's right; I remember Davis saying that he drew a lot from Don when he created that character. It was also a part that Davis was just born to play. Whenever I re-read "North Dallas Forty" or "North Dallas After Forty" I see Mac Davis in my mind everytime the character of Seth Maxwell comes up.
