Hell,im 13 and im here because i remember this from when i was 5!

  • @DCTV2010 I'm not sure if it matters where someone originally heard this song. The most important part is that they recognize good music no matter what age they are. But I would like to point out to you that this song was out BEFORE you were born. This song came out in 92-93. I'm 22, & the only reason I remember this song is because it played constantly by my parents when I was younger... (If you couldn't do the math I was 3-4 when the song was out)

  • @Nunie2011 It doesnt really, but it's so annoying how people constantly say that.

I know people are supposed to express their opinions and comments but sometimes i think these are just some old pervy dudes sometimes.

  • I also have this on vinyl from when it actually came out.

  • @akil333 100 of our generation diss their music; generation mess (gen y and z ) don't know real music!!!!!!!

  • @rabbitlove4ever

    this isnt the new age...

  • How is this house? It doesn't have a 4/4 beat.

  • @rabbitlove4ever yes it does have a 4/4 beat....the pattern repeats every 4 quarter notes although the snare and kick drums are playing counter to the 4/4 rhythm, the overall pattern timing is still actually 4/4... it's just not your typical in your face "4 on the floor" 4/4 beat that house heads are accustomed to....

  • the drums are amazing a little bit of jazz and some drums voila house music!

  • Who were the 17 jerks that gave this a thumbs down.

  • @infoclips LAWL the second I saw '17' I thought of 17 years by Ratatat.

  • @druha10304 Canadian Rapper K-os.

  • @olumwandishi sampled this pretty much verbatim. . i hope he paid royalties~!!!

  • all-time house music classic, right here

  • I fucking love hip hop.

Say what you will, but J Rocc, Madlib and J Dilla have introduced me to some amazing music. Even if you don't like hip hop you must admit that it keeps music alive through collage.

  • 16 people like cold music

  • .@ReliableProductions;Got to agree with PulsePop house was a feeing and had no limits I guess u just had to be there when tracks like this came on and EVERYBODY was groovin and we were all one no matter who u were

  • Oh i gotta make a skate video to this . . This beat is REAL .

  • Man I wish they would re-open some of these clubs so this yougin can get a taste of what it use to be like. I'd give almost anything

  • How is this House music? Sounds like Jazz to me.. House is 4 on the 4 beat.. consistent. This song is broken beat, jazz style.

  • @ReliableProductions this IS house music.... this is what house music started out as. I wish it would go back to this... All this electronic 'house' garbage on the radio is ruining a really beautiful part of urban culture...

  • paid 35 bucks for the 12" inchs back in the good olds days in a dj shop in boston...and it feels goods...

  • a B-boy theme song =D

  • Me and my friends worked this song TO DEATH in Cleveland back in the day. Still kicks! And I think that "Jump" is, to the note and harmony, Aretha's from Jump To It. Doesn't sound like a sample, but a perfect recast.

  • one of my allllllll time fav

  • Speaking of NYC Clubs, don't forget SAVAGE, and SILVER SHADOW.

  • i love this songs first soung i pop lock to

  • @pandabearmadness yes it's a classic house track. The electro house music you hear now was evolved from this. House music used to contain more traditional instruments. The arrangements of repetitive beats and bars are similar (4/4). Miss the early-mid 90s house...:/

  • just curious what defines a house song. i see alot of comments saying this a classic house song. every time i think of a house track it has a very electronic feel to it. to me this is more like jazz riff with a breakbeat. sprinkled with a little james brown. great track and i love to bump this when i can blast this loud.

  • @Pandabearmadness , I guess you would have to be somewhere like the Paradise Garage, Roseland Ballroom or the Shadow in NYC back in the know what real house is. Just joking. Oh, can't forget about Shampoo and the Palmer in Philly.

  • @Pandabearmadness If that's the case, then you need to know house music is. It's not just the use of synthesizers.

  • Alicia Keys sampled this on her "Waiting For Your Love" track. NICE!

  • I LOVE THIS!! My mom always would play this old school track. I never knew who it was. This is timeless. Thank you!

  • I've heard a lot of dope house music songs since late 1980's, but to me, this is the best house music song of all-time. I first heard this in 1990 and this typifies what a classic is all about because this song never gets old. The crowd still goes wild at any party when this joint comes on. Shout out to Pal Joey and everyone who used to party at NYC dance spots like Choices, Wild Pitch, Sound Factory, Tunnel, the Underground, Kilamanjaro, Zanzibar (in New Jersey), Bentleys, Soul Kitchen, etc.
