The bitumen in the river happens naturally, it is a cutbank through the worlds largest oil seep (The Athabasca Oil Sands.) If anything the tar-sands is cleaning up natures biggest oil spill. These greenpeace retards need to learn what they are talking about. I hope they take them to the fucking cleaners over this.

The tarsands are large areas were oil is not contained into conventional pools where we can pump it out of the ground. The oil in the tarsands is seeping into the river, lakes and ground water on its own. Its great that companies are mining the oil from the ground because its removing the toxins from the ground and selling it for energy use. Plus Canada is collecting large revenues to provide services to the Canadian people that include massive green projects. + tarsand jobs pay 3 times more.

Anyway, you MISSED MY POINT AGAIN. Even if you had your way (solar panels, sun-powered cars, etc), Americans are too reliant on OTHER things that consume too much energy. Air conditioning, computers, & TV are just some examples that will cancel out any consrvation your silly solar panels would save. Turn back the clock = only way to go!

I am a mechanical engineer working in energy production, not "immature". It doesn't matter if we over consume energy, solar and wind could easily provide all the energy we need and more. Solar panels are definitely not silly, covering your roof with them would provide twice the energy your house uses in a year. Connect to the grid to draw at night or when it's cloudy and voila, energy problem solved! The problem is, govts can't tax the energy you make on your own roof, so they aren't helping.

Have you ever tried to cover a roof in solar panels in the winter.... Like real winter... not rainy season? -30 in the middle of winter doesn't exactly allow for the best snow melting conditions now does it mister engineer...? I'll stick to my gas heat.. V8 Truck (if I could get a larger engine I would and just for you I would make a break stick so it drinks more gas...) and all my plastic's and everything else I own made with oil.
