Why did he stop boxing?? Because he got schooled by a real champion (Marco Antonio Barrera) and then his next (and final fight) he made an ass of himself going 12 rounds with Calvo. The sport obviously wasn't for him, there is no other reason, so spare me the propaganda. He also had legal trouble due to reckless driving, which he did a couple weeks in jail for.

@sf2explus that's exactly the truth. prime got nothing businees with age. at least not in case of hamed, his prime was from his debut (age18) to about his 30th bout (age 24),after he got much more slower,made getting more mistake,he lost his illusive style as well he was more friendly. as it got clear he was the hardest puncher probably he trained less,and just waited for his big punch meanwhile took lots of shots.when barrera beat him Hamed admited he was better,simple as anything

No fighter is in his prime at 21, and age has everything to do with it. It also has a lot to do with things that come with age, such as knowledge, experience, better oponants, ability etc. When a fighter gets to old, his body slows down and he exits his prime. Naseem was not fighting top fighters at the age of 21, there is no way you could a "prime" for any fighter that early. In his prime, he didn't train properly and the competition he faced was better than him.
