  • wow can all the barefoot trimmers see the heel contraction from 10 ft away like i can? This video is a modern example of antique vet practices. This horse could be cured at a cost of about $40 dollars a month. The heel contraction, frog atrophy, and infection and hoof distortion is the cause here....40 bucks and 2 mos of new growth is all it would take. my 2

  • Hi,

Leo is 11 yrs old..and yes, the last resort would be to cut the nerves...but his injection has worked well. He is able to trot and canter without a problem. He wore bar shoes prior to this injection..he has a cyst next to the navicular bone which caused problems and did worsen as he aged...so far, so good. But I heard there is another procedure which is new...this can be done before any nerves are cut. Give your mare some time...you will know if it works. Good luck...and hope she heals well

  • Hi, my mare just had injections 2 days ago, due to nav syndrome! Do they work? How is he now?Her last resort is also cutting the nerves, but I am not sure about that really. How old is Leo and what did you do with him?

  • @beautifullace - see reply above. Don't usually get comments...good luck with your mare. The injection worked for Leo...

  • Why don't you try trimming the hooves correctly first?
