  • Hi, I reallly want to know the chord of this song please.

  • Hi, I reallly want to know the chord of this song please.

  • Hi I really love this song and tried so hard to find this song which playing with Ukulele. Then I found u, if u don't mind can u pls send me the chord and the technic of how to strum the song, coz it sounded beautiful, especially your way of singing. I feel in love with it. I couldn't see the chord probably, am just the beginner for ukulele and willing to learn how to play this song. Please!!!!!...

  • @porplah Thanks for your comment! I got the chords for this from the Chordie website. YouTube comments doesn't let me put web addresses in, but if you google Sway Bic Runga chords, you'll see it come up (or Ultimate Guitar - that works too). On both of those websites, you can change the key to suit your voice. I transposed down two steps from the original - you can play around with it until you find the best key for your voice. Those sites are both excellent for finding chords. Good luck!

  • Great version. Nicely done.

  • @msephton Thank you very much for watching!

  • Awesome cover. And awesome uke! (I also have a KoAloha). I'm hoping to do a cover of this song as well, so will post back if it ever happens. Keep up the good work!

  • @kinseythreesome Thank you so much for your lovely comment! And Yay for KoAloha!! I love my superconcert... have subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing you play yours one day!

  • Whats your strumming technique ?

its lovely but i simply cant get it :/

  • @JensterTheGreat It's called "chunking". The best way I can describe it is that your palm hits the strings on the downstroke just after you strum. Check out the video lesson of how to do it on ukuleleunderground . com. It's Uke Minutes no. 23 - click on "Uke Minutes" on the right hand side of the page - there are heaps of great tips there, and no. 23 is a whole lesson on chunking. Hope that helps!

  • Hi Thats great.

Its my wedding song and have just started to learn the uke.

    tutorial please???? please???? :-)

  • you're awesome!

can i know the chords please please :)

  • @Urfacehurts Sorry to reply so late - I just saw your comment now. The chords came from Ultimate Guitar. I can't post the link in comments, but google "sway bic runga chords" and it's the first hit. I played it in G (down two steps) but in Ultimate Guitar you can transpose to whatever key suits your voice.

  • very nice ! i enjoyed that =) ur really good @ the uke

  • @love2laugh1293 Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it.

  • You really did justice to this fantastic song, great job!

  • oh, lovely! thanks for subbing - i've just been sitting in the sun trying to learn this song! it's an oldie but a goodie...

  • Thanks very much! Yes, I love this song. Bic Runga's great. I saw her in concert when she came to Brisbane a few years ago.

  • nice cover.

    What are the Chords?

  • Thanks! I'm not sure now what chords I used, but I would have just got them from Chordie, or googled them. Chordie is great - you can transpose to whatever key suits your voice, so check that out. I hope that helps.

  • I love it!!!!!!!

Keep on doing what your'e doing, cause we ALL love it.

    Jackie Patricia

  • Thank you so much Jackie! What a lovely comment. I really appreciate it!

  • I love this song ... in fact, I love the whole album. It sounds great on the uke. I try to sing this on singstar but find it too hard... you make it look easy :)

  • Thank you so much Ruby! I love this song too, and the whole album. I didn't know it was on SingStar! I'm sure I'd fail on SingStar. lol I never have much luck there.

  • Oh, Michelle, I must be losing my mind. I don't remember seeing this, and I don't see any evidence I commented on it. Do I blame YT or my old man memory. Since I am having a lucid moment right now, let me say before the fog moves in again that I loved it! What a great song. Love the original. Love your version! I'd like to say I've never heard it before, but who knows if that is true? Spooky!

  • Thank you so much for your comment Don. I'm sure it's not your memory - I'd blame YT! That has happened to me quite a few times when videos don't turn up in my subscriptions. I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

  • very lovely and you look lovely to ..

  • Thank you so much Rich!

  • Beautifully done. Angelic :)

  • Thank you very much!

  • solid playing girlfriend. <3 love it

  • Thank you so much Mysti! I really appreciate your comment. You know how much I love your music!

    Ju

  • Thank you Ju! I'm glad you liked it. I don't think this song was known very well outside Australia and New Zealand. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

  • very, very nice.

  • Thank you very much!

  • I actually don't know this song, but ot makes me feel very confortable, Michelle.

Sound quality is good too, with a bit of reverb?

  • Hi Terry! Firstly thank you - I'm glad you liked it! And yes, I added some reverb. I used Audacity, a free software program, for the audio, and added a bit of reverb. First time I've used reverb, but from the feedback I've been getting, I think I'll keep experimenting with it.

  • Then GVerb rather than reverb? ;-)

    I have used it before.

Yes I believe it definitely adds extra taste if applied appropriately - and this vid is a good example :)

  • Ah yes, GVerb, that's it! :) The original settings are really quite weird, but Russell sent me some settings that are a lot more natural, so I've been playing around with that as a starting point.

  • Nice one Michelle!

  • Thank you very much Craig.

  • Your version helped me figure out alternatves to the original contortionist-worthy chords. Thanks!

  • Oh cool! I'm so glad it was able to help someone. Yes the chords for this one were easy - I think the original had the dreaded "E" chord in it. This key was easier for me to sing, and it was an added bonus that it was also easier to play!

  • Wow, Michelle- great performance!

  • Thank you Mary-Anne!

  • very good sound! beautifully performed, I like it very much, Michelle!

    Greetings to down under, Enrico

  • Thank you so much Enrico! I always love your comments. Thank you for watching. (And hi to Little Bear too!)

  • Great sound Michelle, I think that added bit of production with audacity really gave it a nice touch. I enjoyed it a lot and the uke sounded really good.

  • Thank you very much! Yes, I think Audacity is pretty amazing for a free program. It definitely helps with the audio.

  • Thank you for sharing this song. Now I'm gonna have to add Bic Runga to my list of "Artists songs to cover" list.

  • Oh yes!! That would be awesome. I think you'd do an amazing cover of any of her songs.

  • Really nice Michelle!

    I love this song.

  • Thank you Derek! It is a lovely song, isn't it? It's my favourite of hers.

  • That's fine work, Michelle.

  • Thank you Michael!

  • lovely job, big fan of that album, didnt get a release here until about 2004....very nice though.

  • Really? Wow! I wonder why it suddenly got released in 2004? Better late than never though! I really like the album too, and her later albums. Thanks so much for watching Keith!

  • wow michelle.. thats a really pretty song! great playing and singing. (and you know how much i love that uke!)

  • Thank you Kevin! I should really do some videos on my other ukes sometime, but everything just sounds so much better on my Koaloha, and I love it so much that I end up playing that almost all the time.

  • That was beautiful michelle~

I see 'some' of your ukuleles behind you.

  • Thanks Nam!! LOL! I'm never going to live that down :) Yes, they're all lined up against the wall in easy reach, although most of the time I play my Koaloha.

  • Beautiful Michelle.

The sound quality is perfect. The soft qualities of your voice really come through.

  • Thank you very much Brad! I used Audacity for the audio this time - same microphone, so the improvement was all in Audacity. Pretty good for a free software program!

  • Awesome:)

  • Thank you!

  • *sigh*...Michelle - SO NICE! I'm gonna have myself another listen... :)

  • Thank you so much Lisa! I'm glad you liked it enough to listen again!

  • So beautiful. Very well done Michelle. The audio is extremely good too.

  • Thank you John! I used Audacity for the audio and that seemed to help a lot. Same microphone as always, so the improvement was all from Audacity, and some advice from Russ with the settings.

  • Excellent, Michelle! It's like this song was written for you! More Bic Runga!

  • Thank you so much John! I'll certainly try to do more Bic Runga. It was a fun one to do.

  • Oooh! this is lovely...really sweet, Michelle - favourited!

  • Never heard the song, but I like it when you sing it. Great stuff Michelle.

  • She's a New Zealand singer-songwriter. Very popular there and in Australia, but possibly not so much beyond there. She plays a very small guitar, and she was probably the first person to plant the idea in my head that if the instrument was small enough, maybe I could play it. Then the ukulele came along...

  • Very, very nice Michelle!

  • Thank you very much Darrell!

  • don't know the song but you performed it beautifully. the perfect song for your vocals and the koaloha sounds great.

  • Thank you very much Russ, and thank you so much for the Audacity tips! I was playing around with that for this video, and I think it made an improvement.
