Thanks for this, there´s not too much of the ´84 season around here so this is appreciated, would be more than happy to see a season review of this season. And what come to Rally Portugal itself, after 1000 Lakes and Monte it´s starting to my 3rd favorite event of the WRC history, as crazy as it was back then.
Ok good to know, that season seems to be a bit of a blank spot all around and there´s not that much footage of it around. Although I have some Finnish footage of the ´84 1000 Lakes and will propably edit a review of that material at some point.
What a tense battle between Hannu and Alen. And simultaneously the fight Audi vs Lancia. Both Hannu and Allen looked totaly exhausted after each stage although this was on the peek of their career. Not even Walter or Stig could keep up with their devilish tempo. The only one that could match them was Henri, but he reached the limit of the car too soon.
Listen to the comments at the beginning. Then fast forward to 1986 and the Ford RS200 crash. Wy could the FIA not hear all that was being said?

Actually Peugeot´s debut event was Corsica earlier that year, but Finland was the first win for that car.

@elkcult Or maybe it was the limit of his own body that he reached. If my memory serves me well, he had a bad flu when he crashed.
