yeah its probably not too smart to turn it all the way up because you will eventually burn holes in the pistons from it running to hot

What do you turn up, the fuel pump or the injector pump?

If you want to be safe, I turned my pump 1.5 flats. Thats just enough when its floored you see a slight bit of smoke, and power increase. It really wakes em up, I was surprised. Fuel mileage seems to be the same also.

I want to turn my 7.3 up and make it smoke like that but how does turning it up like that make a difference on drivability? does it run fine down the road? does it run hot?

i drive it every day it got more power than befor you can tell and i just put a cold air intake in and that made a slight more hp and my foot not in to the floor when iam doing 65mph

ya i was going to but the max psi you could run was 10 and i couldent see spending $2000 on a ats turbo kit thats 2x what i paid for the truck

What make pump do they use?

Is it an inline pump?

I turn up pump on every diesel I own, thats why I dont like modern electronics, u have to pay for more fuelling! and they dont last, and they cost to much and....etc.

How many turns did you give the pump?

Also, how big is the improvement in power? I have one of these IDI's sitting at my house and want to see a difference in power and tourqe! By the way, nice pickup! LOL
