  • Please vote for Charles Djou! He is the best for Hawaii in Congress! A very humble person. We don't need Hannabusa! We need new face....You go Charles!

  • Wake up people! Biden backed Hanabusa today because they KNOW Djou might be able to do some damage to them. The Obama administration just wants to spend spend spend, tax the people and give more money to the bankers. The Obama administration wants another 600-700 billion dollars in stimulus which didn't work the first time around. I love Charles for trying to cut spending of congress, we need more people like him in Washington!

  • I like how Djou is polite, and the host is a complete jackass.

  • Way to go Charles Djou, congratulations on the recent victory, you will make Hawaii proud!!

  • Rod Tam and Nestor Garcia introduced that bill....

  • This is the same idiot who proposed a bill to ban people who smell from city buses.

  • @Nukeasfinest1 I have never heard of that bill.

  • Charles Djou is a great candidate for Congress. He is a great family man and he's doing very well in a heavily Democratic state. We really need to bring down the budget deficit. We don't need all the same old faces representing Hawaii. Please help us out and vote Djou in the special election!

  • Democrats raise taxes on everyone, and spend without the funds to cover it. Stop the class warfare talk with rich and poor. Every top Dem in this country owns multiple mansions (look at Gore and Kerry and hillary for heaven sakes)

  • Djou is a snake in the grass. He will cut taxes for the rich while the poor and middle class will suffer.

  • Republicans cut taxes for the rich and the poor and middle class programs get cut.

  • @jsmith19091

Programs for the middle class and poor, in addition to taxes, slow economic growth and actually hurt the poor and middle class in the long-term. Look at the housing program for the middle class and poor, that was the underlying force of demand unleashed by the government's incentives that caused the subprime crisis.

  • @spcoffee Really? A breath of fresh air? Another rich Asian Republicrat who hates the homeless? Another politician trying to militarize our island? Now THATS progressive! Hawaii politics are pathetic! I left Honolulu for good, which was my hometown, because I just can't handle these lying, disingenuous, faceless shills who only think in dollars and cents and votes. When will a Hawaii politician grow a backbone?

  • LOVE Red-Eye and this is a GREAT interview!

  • I like Charles Djou. He seems like a real person, with a family. I want a representative that understands real familys. I'm tired of lawyers and career politicians. I think Colleen and Ed represent too much of what is wrong in congress. I like that he recognizes there is a problem with overspending in gov't and printing money.

  • @cjkallgren Djou is a lawyer. He teaches law at the William Richardson school of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

He actually spoke in my political science class years ago. He is a nice person actually, but, in my opinion, on the wrong side of politics.

  • @jsmith19091 Just curious, what is the right side of politics in your opinion?

  • @cjkallgren I am a moderate to conservative Democrat. I believe in regulating wall street and big businesses to make sure they don't screw over the public. Among other things.

  • The guy is a racist like most of the people in Hawaii ! when it comes to black people it's worst than the 60's in the south the DOJ should come over with black agents and you will find plenty anti-black in Hawaii ! prove me wrong

  • @mckaykeith

Uh, look at the campaign pictures, there a number of black Djou supporters in the pictures. That's many because African Americans are only 3% of Hawaii's population. Don't try to make up facts and then say "prove me wrong", it makes you look like a fool. You are stereotyping everyone in Hawaii and labeling them, you are as bigoted as whoever gave you that chip on your shoulder.

  • @MadPutz Haha that's funny but i think i know more blacks in Hawaii than you and we can not send a racist to D.C. !

  • Simply not true, Alohaboyrocks. Councilman Djou does not support federal funding of abortions, and he does support the protection of traditional marriage.

  • Djou is pro-choice and pro-gay rights. This is something mainland Rs will not support.

  • Charles Djou made Hawaii proud. He is a breath of fresh Hawaiian trade wind air as compared to the old, entrenched Democrat machine that has kept Hawaii at the top of the most taxed list and at the bottom of the worst student test scores list. He needs to be in Congress.

  • @spcoffee He won last night May 22,2010
