  • PonytailRuth, does that have the side valve or the OHV engine.

  • Decent cars with dreadful engines, I was glad when mine blew up and I fitted a Cortina 1200

  • @57silver We are lucky enough to own lots of classic vehicles, and so don't rely on this one for long journeys. It has only done 30.000 miles since new and the engine still has lots of life in it. My other half restores classic vehicles for a living and likes to keep all of ours original. He said that his parents took 4 of them + lots of luggage to cornwall every year on holiday from London in the 1960s without any problems. My Mum also owned a prefect for years without problems in the 60s.

  • @PonytailRuth

Mine only had to travel 10 miles to work every day , so the novelty of that 3 speed box soon wear off. I tend to use my classics on a regular basis and you soon get fed up of the traits that seem fun when they are just toys, hence I now drive a Morris Minor with a 1275, no problems at all. Mind you ,its nowhere near as nice condition as yours and will never win any trinkets, but then again neither did my Studebaker

  • An amazing car you have!

  • They put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

    Another Bloody American.

  • @cubbiefn Cubbie, some early US cars har the steering wheel on the right hand side ,some on the left and some even had it in the middle.Took them years to make up their mind. This is from a Limey living in Ohio.

  • its good, i need a lots of job at my 101E, your car is blue, and my car is rust and the floor with ventilation, flintstones car. goood , good, congratulations

  • Can i be really cheeky and inquire in as to how much you paid for this stunning little prefect?

  • Semplicemente Favolosa! Che bel colore! ;-)

  • happy days..... thanks.....

  • is there a web page where you can buy engine parts for the Anglia 100e?

Thanks for this video one nice CAR ^^ !!!!

  • A gorgeous wee car, and all the better for her originality. Enjoy!

  • @ThemightymacDiesel Thanks a lot for your nice comments. The photo album link on my video show all the improvements we made (to original standard).

  • i have a 1959 100e same colour only 8000 miles gen !!

  • @ncldarren Wow, how lucky you are to find one with such low mileage. Please make a video to show us, or at least send a link to some photos of your own 'twin' Prefect. My photo album link shows our own improvements, all done to original standard of course.

  • @ncldarren ......ooooops....is it sill being used by you ?

  • we go for the music plus to look at the cars.plus there are other british classics that go every year

  • excellent little 100e ive just sold my consul and bought a 58 anglia 100e which has just gone through a full restoration roll on notts americana when i will drive her there hope you have as much fun in yours as i do mine

  • @MrConsulboy Thanks for your comments. I am however confused that you would take a classic English car to an AMERICAN vehicle event.

  • lovely car, ive just finished restoring a 56 prefect for my partner. great cars. yours is stunning.

  • Thanks Andy. We were very lucky to buy this car in the condition you see. We are however fully restoring our 1957 Ford Zephyr MK11 Highline, and know how hard it to do it PROPERLY (as you do). I will contact you privately to give you the Myspace links to it.

  • Looks nice!!

  • Thanks for uploading the vid and congratulations... Just magnifique concours car!!!

  • I am so pleased you like it. Please excuse my verbal ramblings on the video. I was 'trying' to talk knowledgeably about a car I just got that day! Thankfully my partner is a top mechanic who understands all about these old cars. We also own a 1957 Ford Zephyr and another 57 Ford Zephyr convertible which need restoring.

  • my great uncle fred had one of these, lighter blue, if i remember, he lived in hackney , east london, this is about 40 years ago. now the best bit .. it got stolen 8 times all those years back and was found intact every time and only a few miles away.(me old grandad told me)you cant make up stuff like that.

  • Thanks for your interesting story. My Mum also owned the almost identical Ford Prefect 107E with the Anglia Engine. We lived in Shepherds Bush, West London at the time. It is reminiscing for me, as I was just a small child and the car seemed SO big at the time. It looks so small now though!
