Dr. Paul's HR1495: 100% tax credit for all health expenses, premiums & Health Savings Accounts PLUS ALL medical expenses tax deductible.
HR2629 prevents the govt from requiring the purchase of insurance = FREEDOM
HR3217 insurance across state lines = COMPETITION.
Defensive Medicine vs. Tort Reform: Studies show 18%-28% of tests, procedures, referrals & consultations AND 13% of hospitalizations are for lawsuit defense.
Dr. Paul's plan doesn't address health care costs. The current plan only requires that companies purchase insurance, not individuals. The plan offered by Obama creates a system where you can buy insurance across state lines, but regulates it to prevent people from being having bad coverage which will increase in costs because people go to the emergency room instead of to their doctor. Tort reform needs to be a part and they may add that now. Why don't you offer something not currently in debate?
Pawlenty's "Five ways to reform health care": 1) Incentivize patients: right as if high-quality low-cost health care even exists in this country. 2) Pay for performance: okay so stop testing that doctor's may say is necessary? and you guys said death panels would be bad. 3) Right, let's not hold health care providers accountable, good idea. 4) Interstate insurance: great let the ins. comps. become so big they "can't fail" either. 5) Modernize: isn't this what Obama wants? Is this a joke Tim?
