I prefer the left, for two reasons.

1. It's what I grew up with. So obviously I'm biased.

2. The darker hues suit the time period this film was supposed to represent, and add to the more mature theme. The bright colors kinda detract from it all, at least for me.

At 2:59 when Aurora's corpse is revealed by Maleficent, in screen 1 (the original version) it fine, but in screen 2 (which is the disney 50th annivesery version) something is different about it, like it zooms out then in. I noticed that when I got the DVD. Weird.

@12hypnose Well it was from DVD from 2001, so i'm guessing the colors are almost the same. I like the right one better because of the colors and how Aurora is not green.

@12hypnose your right, it is not like the changed the scene around, but in the 2009 version you see a lot more of the background, and better colors as you said.

That's strange too see the old colors like this... Now that I see the difference, I remember how cold the colors were, when I was young. But, I don't know, even if the 2009 version is colorfull, I prefer the old version.

I like the left one the best. But as long as they didn't change anything major I can deal with it. I hate when the people who own the movies decide to change things for no damn reason like with Star Wars.

I remember loving the creepiness of this scene as a child - I loved the green of her skin, the music and Malificent's sheer wickedness! I searched for ages trying to find this scene again, so thanks for uploading it! Ironically, I'm a bit more disturbed by it now I'm all growed up (=P) but the music is still fantastic.

Gosh, I miss the days of the good Disney villains! (And good Disney stories!)

Ok so on the day of her birthday, the predestined day where she would fall into a deep sleep for a century, why was it that they (the fairies) suddenly decided to leave Aurora alone for even the slightest second when they knew damn well that Maleficent was out there waiting and ready to kill the poor girl?

The one on the left is much better. The eerily green colour of her skin and hair used to terrify me :P The colours are much deeper, despite the quality being a bit worse.

The left side is a Disney classic for me.

ahh! This brings back so many memories! This part was always so haunting and evil. Maleficent is so wicked! It's too bad there aren't any good movies like this now.

There were some parts that the left looked better, though the right seemed better quality.

yeah i definately like the colors from 09 but the video from 00, maybe its just cuz the half screen makes it look weird
